  1. So if you could get a lightly used E or a new K for the same amount of coin which do you pick? I've got a few K's but I've never owned an E or fished with one. I'm seriously considering grabbing it just to try. Dumb idea? Just buy another K instead?
  2. Interesting, first I've heard of someone saying they preferred the XP to the GLX as far as sensitivity.
  3. 6lb on both of my spinning reels, and yes it can be a little challenging sometimes tying knots.
  4. Interested in this too, specifically the % off.
  5. Depends, I get some really good deals on used rods and reels both from here in the marketplace and at a local shop. Just for example, I picked up a very lightly used Stradic Ci4+ 2500 for $150 spooled with fresh PP braid recently at my local shop. I've also bought several great condition St. Croix Avid SCIII rods for under $75.
  6. I too am in the same camp, I currently use Yo-zuri hybrid on both my spinning outfits, one for a Ned rig and one for weightless Senkos. I'm happy with the Yo-zuri so don't know why I want to switch other than I like hi-vis line.
  7. Yep, my reasoning exactly for using LH retrieve BC reels.
  8. Curious on this as well, thinking about putting it on one of my 2500 Stradics Ci4+ reels I use for weightless Senkos. It currently has Yo-zuri hybrid, 6lb. It works great so I don't really know why I want to change for the spring, but maybe braid has some advantages? If I go braid it will be a bright green color.
  9. I love mine, I've got the 610 MM and it's my favorite crankbait rod I own. I was a little hesitant about the glass but after slaying some largemouth and smallmouth on the creek the first time I fished with it, all my reservations about glass were gone.
  10. What do you consider light? Just curious
  11. I'm a St. Croix fanboy but I have two Dobyns, both Sierras, 702S and 734C. I've not fished with them yet but both are well made, lightweight and great looking. I highly recommend!
  12. Right now, all bundled together with a rod wrap and each rod in a glove and reel in a cover. They all go in the back of the Tahoe until I get to my kayak fishing spot and then all rods and reels taken out and put it in the kayak. When I build my trailer I'll be adding two PVC rod holders.
  13. Big Game doesn't do that, and as a plus is cheap.
  14. Thanks, I'm going to try it this spring on my CB setups. I use the 6lb on some spinning rigs.
  15. I've been using the 6lb on my spinning setups for ned rigs and weightless senkos. I'm contemplating trying it on my crankbait setups. Would you guys suggest 10 or 12 lb?
  16. For me at least, when I bought some cranking specific rods my catch rate improved. I too kayak fish and use either my Legend Glass or Avid CB rod depending on size of the crankbait.
  17. Oops, I see that now. It's been a long liquid night, I hate winter sometime.
  18. New Tatula 100. I ended up ordering one of each, yes I'm a sucker. The deal on the Tatula was sold out of the original gear ratio I wanted but ordered one anyway in a different ratio. Not many deals on new reels like that and I'd be kicking myself if i didn't take full advantage. Plus, found all ratios on the SLX LH I was looking at, done and done.
  19. My Curado K's are great workhorses. I don't care for round reels, but thanks anyway. Because the bait monkey told me to buy a new reel that I don't already own, haha.
  20. I'm a self proclaimed Shimano fanboy but after being curious of all the talk on here about the Fuego CT and how great it was for it's price point I bought one off Ebay a few months ago. I agree, the hype is real as it's a great reel for the price and I enjoy fishing it almost as much as my Curado K's. ? I just got a new Dobyns Sierra 734c and will be using it for spinnerbaits,buzz-baits and maybe some small swimbaits. I need a "workhorse" reel to pair it with and was originally going to use an extra Curado K I have but the bait monkey has a hold on me and you know the rest... Which reel is going to be better and pair better with the 734C? I know Daiwa advertises the new Tatula 100 as a more finesse reel but I've seen vids on people using it as a workhorse. The Tatula 100 is pricier than the SLX but I can get either reel for $100 right now. Thanks
