Lipless Crank With The Best "Dying Flutter" While Sinking ?
I've always used the classic Rat L trap but picked up several RES this past weekend on a sale from Dicks. I don't throw lipless as much as billed crankbaits as they seem to pick up all the grass and weeds where I fish.

Got a new nice baitcaster. I hate it.
Very good advice in this thread, but like others have said it takes practice off the water. If you're not willing to do that then yeah, send it back and stick to what you know. You don't have to use a BC to catch fish, but it sure makes it easier IMO.

Quality spinning rods
Don't think you can really go wrong with any of those manufacturers. Are you able to handle any of them in person before purchasing? But, you really can't go wrong with a St. Croix Avid. I own several and they are great. But I'm currently using a Loomis GL2 spinning rod for my ned rig setup, so far it's a great rod.

Only one Curado DC in your arsenal, what technique do you use it on?
So, I'm probably going to be getting a Curado DC on Black Friday with the discount from TW. It'll be my first experience using a DC reel and also my only DC reel in my line-up for at least all of next season. I have Curado K's and a Fuego CT on all my setups now. So my question is what technique would you use your DC with exclusively. These are my baitcasting setups. - crankbait (x2) (one for lipless/smaller cranks and the other for larger and deep divers) - jig/texas rig - jerkbait - topwater

Crankbait Storage options
Think I'll pull the trigger on the 3700 Bait coffin for my 1.5's and 2.5's. I've got a Plano small crankbait I'll use for my 1.0s You all going with the regular 3700 over the deep?

Rod length for pitching from a yak? Looking to maybe upgrade.
I currently do 90% of my fishing from my yak and this summer have been mainly fishing creeks, rivers and on occasion small lakes. I'm constantly close to shore and sometimes have to deal with trees to get in spots to fish. My setup now for jigs/texas rigs is a St. Croix Avid 6'8" MH paired with a Curado K. I'm still fairly new to pitching, especially from a sitting position in a kayak. I've been practicing as much as possible, even sitting on a stool in the yard with a practice plug to get better. Well the rod/reel Gorilla has been tapping me on the shoulder and with TW BF sale on the horizon I have the itch for a new setup. I'm considering a longer rod, and looking at either a Legend Tournament or a Loomis IMX pro or maybe even splurging for a Legend X or GLX. So, those who have experience with a longer rod for pitching what do you think? Should I upgrade to a 7' - 7'-5" length rod? Or should I spend the money elsewhere and be happy with my current setup? Also, for pitching what is your preference, full cork or split grip? For a reel, would you stick with the Curado K or would my technique be improved by going with a different reel? I'm open to Shimano or Daiwa when it comes to my reel choice but prefer Shimano.

My St. Croix Story
Not gonna lie, it crossed my mind haha. Oh, I didn't gather that from your OP.

Black Friday sale list?
Any BF deals @ American Legacy?

Black Friday sale list?
I've got quite a list going at TW, whether or not I pull the trigger is yet to be seen. Is it 15% or 20% off on TW? Is there lots of exclusions? It's my first year I've considered buying on BF from them.

The Death of the small tackle shop
We have a great one here in town that I try to utilize as much as possible. Family owned father and son who are very friendly. They cater to 95% bass fishing but I think sell some live bait as well. They are also the local Hobie kayak dealer and sell the hell out of them. It's great having someone local instead of relying on big box stores and online.

Ordered a Shimano Curado DC today - Anyone use it yet?
Plenty of topics on this reel already, but I think you'll be pleased.

My St. Croix Story
That is the reason 95% of my rods are St. Croix. Kind of surprised that they upgraded you to a Legend Tournament when it was clearly user error. Oh, and I have several Mojo Bass, they are great rods when handled correctly.......

Need crank rod help
I used to not be a huge fan of glass rods but after spending more time with my new to me St. Croix Legend Glass I'm in love. Caught quite a few last Friday on it, mainly throwing 1.5's and some 75x's. That rod is sweet! But like others have said, the Dobyns 705CB is a great rod too.

Anyone got a good budget baitcast reel they like?
As mentioned earlier in this thread, all my BC and spinning reels are Shimanos but I picked up a Fuego CT a few weeks ago off the bay because it was under $50 and I needed another reel for a new rod I just got. It has gotten rave reviews so I decided to buy into the hype. I still haven't fished with it but it seems awesome. I would have picked up a SLX but the LH retrieves aren't releasing until end of year. I've got one preordered and am anxious to try it. But to OP (if he ever returns) I would recommend the Fuego CT.

Crankbait Back Splitting
Just noticed you were in CKY, did you buy them locally? If so I'd take them back and see what the retailer says. Also, I have had luck from the SK 1.5's over the years, they're also cheaper than LC's.
