  1. Bumping this to the top. I'm still trying to decide on this rod. Anyone have any new info or thoughts on the 2020 Zodias. I'll be using it as a dedicate Senko rod, only 4" or 5" Senkos, rigged weightless or wacky rigged. I don't want to order the ML and it not be enough. I'm coming from a 68 MXF Avid X that I liked all but the reel seat was uncomfortable. I'd like the 68 MXF Expride but having a hard time finding one in stock.
  2. Yeah, to echo what others have said. I have a few Stradic Ci4+ and they're great reels. But I'd go ahead and get a new Vanford if you can swing it.
  3. I just ordered some of these to pair with my Jackhammers. I've heard great things about them from here and other places, so I'm anxious to try them. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Big_Bite_Baits_Kamikaze_Swimon_6pk/descpage-BBBKS.html
  4. Thanks, I'll call when they open and see if they can change the shipping.
  5. Ordered a bunch of red/orange trailers from TW for my Jackhammers but wow, 14 days just to process the order? WOW, might have to cancel. Has anyone had any luck with TW getting them out sooner than that?
  6. A large fishing retailer is always at my local boat show in the winter. They have always had deals on Loomis rods, buy one get one free. I've done it two years in a row, (IMX Pros and NRX's) Two years ago they changed it and it was buy a GLX or NRX and get a Curado DC for free. Not as good as the previous but still awesome. Unfortunately the boat show didn't happen this winter because of COVID.
  7. I'd go Dobyns all day over Lews.
  8. I've never tried Lake Fork but you can't go wrong with Keitechs
  9. Cedar Creek? If so I'm a little scared to throw my Buccas or other semi expensive swimbaits in that lake. haha
  10. I use the Owner Flashy Swimmer and honestly don't think the price is bad for what you get.....
  11. I've fished both but it's been several years. If it were me I'd choose Dale Hollow just because of the Asian Carp problem on KY/Barkley.
  12. Read again, OP is using 12lb YZH.
  13. I have one but got it over the holidays and haven't even spooled it up yet. I am pairing mine with an 853c NRX and plan to use it for light texas rigs and jigs. Like someone else said, not enough line capacity for frogging IMO.
  14. I have been using 6# Yo-zuri hybrid on my weightless Senko spinning setup for years now and have horsed some 5-6lb fish out of some muck. That said, yeah 12# is waaayyy to much.
  15. I love my Nucanoe Flint for river fishing.

That might be the case but OP is bank fishing, not skipping under docks from a boat. I'd be willing to bet if he switches up his "stick" worm to something else he will have much more success.

Yeah, it might work but I would start by ditching your "stick" worm. They're designed to be fished weightless or wacky rigged as others have said. There are tons of better options out there for texas rigging with a weight.
  18. My cranking setups have Curado K's and Chronarch MGL's on them. Obviously the better reel is the Chronarch and I love it for my cranking setups.
  19. Haha, smooth one Derek.
  20. I have several Sierra 734c that are my dedicated spinnerbait/chatterbait rods. They handle 1/2 oz plus trailer but I honestly think it feels a bit underpowered. I throw 3/8 oz plus trailer 90% of the time on the 734c
  21. Mojo if you can swing it.
  22. I've got several older Avids too and don't really fish them much anymore. I'm a huge St. Croix fan but have kind of moved on to trying different brands and higher end rods. Just out of curiosity what rods do you think are more sensitive at a lower cost than the Avid line?
  23. I primarily fish out of my yak and use my higher end rods and reels. When I first began years ago I was scared and used the floats. I ended up hating them and now don't use them unless the setup is in the rod holder. I couldn't stand fishing with them on the rod so I'll just continue to live on the edge..........
