  1. I own a max 702,704, and 705, the tw exclusive deep cranking rod, jerkbait rod, swimjig rod, and 3 squarebill rods, and the endurance 775, 723, and 2 714's. My favorite line is for sure the endurance line. The 723 will be best for 1/4 oz but the 714 is the most versatile IMO.
  2. I'm Josh Sikes and yea we are going to try and go fish up in Arkansas. I'll be lost up there, but gonna give it a shot. I think the thing I'm most proud of is the fact that we beat Kevin Short lol! I don't think the hanging out happened until Saturday night and I had to get home, so didn't get to hang around. I did get to meet Phil and a few others from the basscat boards though. It was an awesome weekend.
  3. I have both. The type R is a sweet reel and the Zillion is just a pure workhorse. The type r feels a lot smoother, but as far as handling those weights, the regular zillion will do a great job pitching that!
  4. We ended up winning it with almost 20lbs. I had over 20lbs ore fishing both Thursday and Friday too. My partner caught one over 7 Friday and had a STUD straighten his hook on Saturday in the tournament. I thought that fish was going to cost us the tournament, but we were fortunate enough to catch 3 others over 5lbs. Our pattern was a little different than what everyone else was doing. We stayed deeper. Fish are moving shallow, but the big fish aren't there quite yet.
  5. I saw that fish Marcel!! That was a stud!
  6. 16lb Sumline Sniper floro. It has a very small diameter for 16lb like.
  7. My fish have been in 19-24 ft
  8. I throw em a lot my favorite two are the yum flash mob jr and the sk titanium rig. The titanium rig is a better built rig, but the spinners are a little bigger than I like.
  9. I use straight floro OR straight braid. Have a couple rods with straight floro with a jig tied on and a couple with straight braid with a jig. If I'm around grass or flipping really shallow I use braid, otherwise it's floro
  10. It is tough out there right now. I've caught 78 in three trips this week, but all came on one hump. Besides that spot I just can't find em. As far as shore fishing, check out the state parks.
  11. What could you possibly be doing on your wedding weekend to make you so exhausted Woody??
  12. I like the Lews, but love the zillion!
  13. Haven't tried for crappie, but I caught bass on deep ledges 19-24 ft yesterday.
  14. Welcome to the forums! I don't fish me greet much, but I would look for flats with deep water nearby and throw reaction baits. The fish should be shallow!
  15. Ronnie, Are you fishing the BassCat Tx on the 25th? Ill be staying at Toledo Inn and fishing it. Hope to meet you!!
  16. Strike King 3xd or a Bandit 250 Ledge series would do the trick.
  17. I would say use a Champion 765 FLIP. If youre open to other brands, the Powell Endurance 775 FLIP can be found for $150 and is an awesome stick for what your looking to do. I have the Endurance and I have a Dobyns DX 795 and I prefer the Powell.
  18. I've lost 8 10xds in one day once this year to go along with a few fb jigs. At $15 a piece, it adds up, but I don't mind, they catch big fish!
  19. I was out there last Tuesday. The baitfish are starting to move to the back of the creeks. They use the creek beds to navigate towards the back so the bass follow. Many times it seems as if they are just scattered, but the bass are following the shad down the middle of the creeks to the back. We too caught a lot of small fish. Seemed the better fish are still out towards the lake.
  20. Zell pop, cavitron, spro frog, gunfish
  21. Trust me, I've got plenty. I have enough to fill all the storage in 2 20' bass boats and still have several large containers full of boxes of baits in the garage. Heck, I'm waiting on 30 new 10xds to come in the mail from cabelas now!
  22. I have 24 casting combos and 1 spinning, and I've never caught a fish on the spinning rod lol. My favorite would have to be a dobyns 805cb w/daiwa Tatula right now. I've caught a lot of big fish on a 10xd on this combo this year.
  23. Yep, green gizzard shad is by far their best color. At least they have natural bream though. The lucky craft skt mag comes I'm ghost minnow. I've already caught some good fish on it. I'll have an oversized squarebill tied on at all times. I'm throwing mine on a dobyns 806cb.
