  1. Let's stop right there; thread over.
  2. Nice fish; cute kids. Good job taking em fishing.
  3. lol yep; the 'I'm the man who threw thousands of dollars right back in the lake' air. Sure money isn't everything but it does help keep the 'bait monkey' off my back.
  4. Welcome aboard.
  5. x2. I once caught a LMB on a 1/4 oz rooster tail that (with hook included) was smaller than the lure. It had me rolling.
  6. I hope that when he finds them that its the last place he looks. I would get a little concerned if he kept looking after he found them Bingo! ;D I don't lose much tackle outside of trees and the lake because as SOON as I get home it goes right in the tackle box. I HATE wanting to try a lure I just bought only to remember I left it at home.
  7. I agree with the guys saying 'it's how you present it' but one disadvantage for using a smaller bait would be the size of the hook. Wouldn't it be easier to get a better hook set thus better chance of landing the fish with a bigger hook? In most cases that is. Say I'm using a small jig vs using a 10" worm with a 4/0 hook; wouldn't it be alot easier to get a solid hookset on the 4/0 hook than a 1/8 oz jig?
  8. If you were to catch the same DD fish twice (within say a couple months) would you say you've caught a couple fish over 10 lbs or just count it once? In my opinion, I'd count it twice with the reasoning being that it takes a certain amount of skill to hook this fish and land it.
  9. Good point; I'd wrestle with it but ultimately I believe karma/fishing gods would smite you for being deceitful.
  10. Welcome aboard man. I can't believe how much I've had to drop just getting a decent tackle box going again and getting my little Pond Prowler outfitted. Luckily, my wife enjoys fishing but doesn't go much. I steer her towards really good stuff that I can use when she's not going.
  11. Well put O. Nice picture; tell her to paint them nails chartruese instead of pink though.
  12. Nice fish. Never thought about listening to Ipod either although I like hearing what's going on around me. I wouldn't want to miss the sound of something boiling the surface while I'm listening to Barry Manilow's greatest hits. 8-)
  13. You catch those on cheese?
  14. That's not from a fish. : You're a bad boy. ;D
  15. Welcome aboard to the board..... Hmmmm terminology definitions huh? LOL = Largemouth on land OMG = Oh my glasses (high dollar shades fall into water) ROFL = Rapala on floor; lookout! DD = double dipping (you and buddy grabbing lunch at mexican mexican restaurant and one of you dips half eaten chip in salsa) PB = Puny bass. This refers to ANY fish caught by a competitor in a tournament. Can't think of anymore right now; maybe some other guys here could help out.
  16. The Gene Simmons of the bass world. 8-)
  17. I'm guessing if you're in a position to feel a bass' teeth then you already know what they're feeding on; your lure (or what it's supposed to represent) J/K: Never heard that before.
  18. And for my standards that would be anyone with a big fat check! In regard to the eggs, I thought about this too after reading an article here about some auction of 1,000 fingerling LMB going for $20,000.00 Amazing.
  19. I'm betting you'll find them in the last place you look. :
  20. that or a cat pretty good; and not a catfish. Actually it would probably look good on a XMAS tree too.
  21. Pass onto them our thanks if you would. We can't tell these guys enough how important they are and despite differences of opinions on the validity of the mission, these guys are the ones in harm's way. As a vet of the first gulf war (no combat time seen though) I appreciate it when people recognize my service to this country.
  22. Congrats man. Don't have any suggestions though.
  23. Good job bill. When fishing from a jon boat in Ontario my brother bumped three of his rods (baitcaster included) into the water. We spent the next 20 mins jigging over that spot with daredevil spoons trying to hook at least one of them back. Finally snagged one and luckily he is disorganized; all the lures were tangled in the other two rods' lines.
