  1. It's 701nodaksports. I have bought a couple of GLoomis GLX's from these folks. Great service, great prices and fast shipping. http://myworld.ebay....sid=p4340.l2559
  2. I went fishing the other day with a Calcutta100 mounted on a GLoomis CR723. That is a 6ft MH/F rod. I was using it for small swimbaits.
  3. Lamiglas Excel rod and a Lew's Speed Spool reel. That would be around $200.00 maybe a little bit more. IMHO, It would be worth spending closer to the $200.00 or a little more if you have too. Also, I have zero experience with that set-up but both the Lew's Speed Spool and the Excel get great reviews.
  4. x3 on the CCW. I carry a Glock19 everywhere I go for the most part.
  5. 1/2oz and up I use a Loomis MBR 844 IMX with a Shimano Calais 100A....5.8:1 3/8oz and below I use a Loomis BCR803 GLX with a Shimano Curado 50E.....6.4:1
  6. It's a right hander's world. I am surprised there are as many left handed reels as there are. My first reel was a Zebco 33 and every reel that I have ever had has been a righty. I couldn't get used to reeling left handed reel if you paid me to learn and btw, I am left handed.
  7. Where would one look to find out some info on the rod the gentleman was using?
  8. When I saw the thread title, I thought it would be about Daiwa being outrageously expensive. LOL
  9. I just took a cap off of my older silver Calcutta 100 knobs and I was able to remove the knob. It too had a Philips head and it came off by turning normal (counter clockwise).
  10. This is what I see. The knobs are not riveted on. I see a slot but I can't get a flat tip to fit in the slot for some reason.
  11. Japan Tackle says they are reverse thread if you have a right hand reel. I assume they mean left hand thread. Are they? I grabbed whatever little Philips screwdriver that I had and I think that I boogered up the head of the screw. The screw looks like I can use a flat tip. I just got back from my shop and either I don't have the right flat tip or I can't use a flat tip. I plan on adding bearings to my Calcutta 100B handle and I thought that I would just tinker around with the handle but his is becoming a real pita.
  12. DSG for me. The closest BPS is at least 2hrs away. I don't think Cabela's is even in Fla and Dicks is usually less than 10min away.
  13. I thought about getting one and using it for Speckled Trout (saltwater) or anything else, fresh or salt, that takes my bait. LOL
  14. An antique graphite fishing rod with no damage is just as fishable as it was the day it was made.
  15. It all depends on how much someone wants it. Put it on eBay and you will either be surprised or disappointed. I still remember the old adds for the Lightning Rod. Does yours have a foam grip? I bought one in the early nineties with a foam pistol grip and the blank ran through the grip and the grip had a cut a way so you could feel the blank.
  16. Great video Capt. Shane. Do you ever see any pythons in the Glades?
  17. I would choose the IMX. I already have a 6' CR723 IMX and a 7' MBR 844 IMX. I would use it for light Texas rigs, light jigs, small swimbaits, spinnerbaits and small shallow running cranks.
  18. I have shipped a rod in the past with the USPS and they broke it. It was a MBR783C GLX and it was insured. I sold a BCR893 GLX on ebay around a week ago and I took it the my local PO to ship it and they refused. They said it was too long. I shipped it with FedEx for around $30.00 (Fla to Mo) and I was pretty happy about it.
  19. Anyone have an opinion on P-Line CXX X-Tra Strong?
  20. Love Magic Eraser here too!
  21. A medium swimbait rod! I never would have figured that for a bait as big as a Big EZ. roadworrior, I know that you were not saying that you throw a Big EZ with the MBR842. I have researched the MBR842 on this site and I have read that you throw the Kitech Swing Impact swimbait with the 842. The 842 is definitely on my 'want list'. I would put my Curado 50E on it. Are you using the smallest Kitech swimbait with the 842?
  22. I am wanting a small swimbait rod. Specifically a Big EZ rod. A Big EZ with a 1/8 weighted hook weighs roughly 3/4oz so I do know that I want a heavy power rod. Maybe even a heavy +. Should I be looking for a moderate or a fast action rod? Right now, I am using my MBR844 but IMHO, the MBR844 is more of a MH +. If it's a fast action that I need, then I will get a MBR845. If it's a moderate action, then I have nothing in mind.
