  1. I liked his show. He seemed like a good guy. RIP
  2. Could just be the water. The only bass that I catch are largemouth and most of the time there is no pattern. They are just dark dark green.
  3. I have 15lb C21 on a set-up and I like it.
  4. Not trying to hi-jack your Thread but I am curious as to what type of cover you are pitchin in. I am pitchin in this type of cover. I use braid but would prefer a heavy copoly or flourocarbon. I may try a 25# line and see how it works.
  5. After seeing pics of the various replicas that have been posted, I have changed my mind. Unless it's a record of some sort, I wouldn't kill a bass just to have it mounted.
  6. Check out the MBR843's on ebay. Look at the completed listings. There is no reason why you can't get your Loomis IMX for less than $200.00
  7. I was wearing a Stihl camo hat this morning but I was using an Echo backpack blower. LOL Their rods may be overpriced but I like the way they, look, feel and fish and I I figure that I am on this Earth just a very short while so I might as well be happy with my rods while I am here.
  8. You did not mention the weight of your swimbaits. I use my Loomis MBR844IMX to cast Gambler Big EZ's with a Curado 200DPV and I get plenty of distance. The Big EZ with a 1/8oz weighted hook weighs roughly 3/4oz. If I were using a smaller swimbait, I would look at a Loomis MBR843. You can find used, in great shape, MBR843 IMX's on eBay all the time.
  9. I wonder if the guys that say you shouldn't mount a bass would have a problem mounting a ten point buck! Do what you want and don't worry about what others say or think!
  10. I too bought Yo Zuri Hybrid because of what I read on the forum. I thought the line sucked big time. My line was spooled on a casting reel and the line developed so much memory that I respooled with P-Line and never looked back.
  11. When I owned one, I used it on a jig & worm rod.
  12. All of my Rods have a full grip but I think some split grips look better.
  13. Great pic if you ask me. Take the kid out for ice cream and tell him what a great job he did!
  14. I got my first baitcaster in 81 or 82. It was a Shimano Bantam Mag Plus 250SG. I abused the heck out of that reel and I still have it.
  15. Excluding the part about deep diving cranks and recoil guides, you could say the same thing about a MBR843 GLX. Maybe it was the 7'5" length that I didn't like. I don't know. I was using a Curado 50E on mine. I think that I had 15# P Line CX-Premium on it. All I know is that I read great things about it on this site and maybe I was expecting too much. I have also read great things on this site about the BCR803 GLX and that is why I bought it. My 803 is here to stay. If I were to buy a rod for Senko's, I would buy a MBR843 GLX.To the original poster, you said your travel tube is for 7' rods. The two Loomis rods that you inquired about are over 7'. The MBR843 is a 7' rod. From the Loomis website
  16. I guess the BCR893 is "the bomb" in educated hands. Not my hands though. I had one and I sold it and I used the money to put towards a BCR803. Why is the BCR893 considerd "the bomb"? I mean, what makes it such a great Senko rod?
  17. I feel for the guy. He probably forgot to renew his license and now the The Man will make him pay for it. Me personally, I think we pay more than enough taxes to support the outdoors in our perspective states that we shouldn't have to buy a license just to fish. Tight lines!
  18. I know that I am in the minority but I don't like Yo Zuri Hybrid. I thought it was very springy. I also don't think that you should have to apply a line conditioner to a line to make it a good line. I like P Line CX Premium better.
  19. I agree with roadwarrior about the 50E. One reel that I really want is a Lews. My local Dicks Sporting Goods has the 99 dollar one on display. I like that little reel. On eBay, Affordable Fishing has the Lews Tournament for around $118.00 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lews-Tournament-Speed-Spool-TS1H-Casting-Reel-149-MSRP-6-4-1-FREE-SHIP-NEW-/360437749010?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53ebc39512#ht_2809wt_1110
  20. What kind of reel was this? Reel trade in -25.00
