  1. i'd fish very tight to cover with black spinnerbaits, or black jigs with bulky trailers that push water. strike zone will be smaller than normal so id bang the baits right up on logs etc... id fish a bigger profile than normal and something that creates a lot of water movement.
  2. id try a football jig with rage craw or double tail hula grub. drag and hop it. let it fall vertically off the ledges by giving it a little bit slack as it descends.
  3. do a search for loomis imx on these forums. i'd say they're the best value in the loomis rods. glx's are lighter, a little more sensitive and considerably more expensive. go for imx. check out their warranty if you havent already.
  4. last year, ohya.com was having a sale on loomis rods. i think they were 40% off? i bought 4 of em...
  5. im using ultra-soft on all of my spinning reels. marinated in kvd line conditioner.
  6. if i could only keep 3 of my rods, it would be these 3. the bcr803 is also a great rod for 3/8oz jigs and soft plastics
  7. i think youd be happier with a spinning reel...

  9. light jigs are a blast! try some 1/8-1/4oz bitsy bugs my crankbaits dont see much of the water. pretty much any lure with more than one hook. but they sure are purdy to look at.
  10. which ever one puts up a better fight. never caught anything that size but i'd guess it would be the 13lber...
  11. counter-strike had me up many nights several yrs ago.
  12. i think he's talking about spincast, not spinning reels.
  13. i hear with a little kvd l&l that this line is pretty manageable on spinning rigs. which color would you say is the least visible in clear water? stained? thanks in advance -z
  14. 104 in Dubai
  15. Letting the raccoon kill the fawn would of been letting nature takes it's course. Just saying... You are right. By getting involved I only prolonged that fawn's agony. I will not make that mistake again. :-/ actually that might not be the case. have you ever watched the discovery channel where a lion immobilizes its prey and then eats while its still alive? you did the right thing. dont let it get you down.
  16. 100% deet spray. theres a product out that you can spray on your clothes that lasts for several washes that ive heard great reviews about. the forum i read the reviews on has been down for several weeks (bwca.com). i believe its called buzz-off but im not 100% sure. you can also buy clothes that come with it already applied that lasts for many more washes. many people swore by the stuff...
  17. buy that shimano symetre that roadwarrior posted. typically people use spinning rigs for finesse style fishing. usually those are lighter baits. i generally use them for anything 5/16oz and lighter which accounts for 80% of my fishing. this does not mean you cannot use them for heavier baits however. you can put heavier line on a 2500 although you wont be able to get as many yards on. to me that doesnt matter too much. a 3000 reel is not too much larger and the line will retain a little less memory. my recommendation is to check out the sizes at a store before you buy. id stick with 6-10# test for a fresh water spinning rod.
  18. if you guys want to see a very disturbing non-fiction documentary check out "paradise lost". my girlfriend had to watch it for a class in college and made me watch it with her. im not easily disturbed by movies but this one got me.
  19. pink flamingos (although its a must see) Tokyo Tony - feel proud to be a movie snob. all they seem to put out lately is super hero and horrible action crap. blockbusters with no depth.
  20. 7 feet from shore? shouldnt be too deep. why not bring some swimming goggles?
