  1. Awesome. Thanks guys. So is a baitcaster really that hard to learn how to use? I'm interested but, I'd feel better about it if I could try one out first. Nobody I know uses them.
  2. Nope, can't say I have that problem. I actually saw that show for the first time a few days ago and thought it was funny he kept saying the 14-15 inchers were "giants". Lol.
  3. So after reading the sticky on baitcasting problems, I'm kind of having second thoughts about purchasing one. Is there a good reason why BC reels are any better than spinning setups? I've always done just fine with spinning gear so why change? :-?
  4. Just wondering what rod, reel, and line you prefer for an UL setup?
  5. Why not get both? :-? You have really been missing out on a lot of fish if you've never tried either. Browse threads for spinner and crank ideas. I like strike king spinnerbaits and rapala DT cranks.
  6. Can't beat a fat 6" live minnow on a big treble with a big *** bobber cast over a weed bed. Try it, you'll thank me. As for lures.. husky jerks, jointed rapalas, bucktails, spinnerbaits, and buzzbaits. Don't forget a steel leader! Oh yeah, and a net. Good luck to ya. Def. post pictures if you land a big one. 50 inches is pretty unbelievable...
  7. When almost everyone starts naming pet peaves that are perfectly reasonable when the original post was about pet peaves THAT SHOULDN'T BE. :
  8. I can't say I've ever bought anything junk. Closest thing that comes to dumb is some cheap garlic&salt fish attractant spray... :
  9. Wow, what a HAWG! Beautiful colors too! Good job, Paul and thanks for sharing. That would be a state record where I'm from.
  10. The King of Strikes!
  11. Saw Revo S's at Walmart for $100! Too bad I don't have the money right now...
  12. Wow, that's a big fat koi. What's the record? Congrats man!
  13. A warm summer night, full moon, private pond, glug glug glug SPLOOSH!... yeahhh. ;D
  14. Thank you for all of the replies guys. I think it's a toss up between a Citica and a Revo S. Citica's got more votes though... hmm.
  15. Power Pro but, I've never tried Suffix.
  16. I'm with stringjam... a tiger that has caught on fire. ;D Seriously, I don't think it's meant to imitate any real fish. It's just a bright flashy lure that triggers reaction strikes.
  17. Corporate bs. They're buyin all that china made crap and getting rid of all the quality products. >
  18. Man those are some huge bluegill. Nice catches!
  19. Oh, I should have specified that I'm not rich and am looking for rods and reels >$200 each.
  20. Thanks for the replies. I was actually looking at that Avid, Road Warrior. Looks like a nice rod. I'll check out the other ones too. Thanks.
  21. For everyone who said "3", could you tell me the length, power, and action on them and what kind of baits you fish with them? Thanks. I use one but, I'm starting to feel like I need many more.
  22. Haha. I thought I was the only one who re-arranged their tackle over and over. I'm gettin it bad too. This dang ice needs to melt!
