  2. Both would be great! I often see how Jon Boats are hooked up on this site, but not many kayaks.. Just want to see where this goes..
  3. Just curious if there are any Bass fishing kayaks in the northern virginia area.. I know of some of you, but I was wondering if any of you have pics to share as well! I will have some pics up this week of mine!
  4. Agreed.. Have had spinning reels for a while now, and i've started with manual flipping.. and stuck with it.. I have a Spheros ..about 5-1/2 yrs old now.. and it's as good as new.. NEVER had a problem with my line.. Actually, I had to manually flip it because the Spheros bad a bad design to the bail itself..
  5. Man, Very nice cat.. Swimbait huh... err.. i have a 40$ giftcard to dickssportinggoods... hehehe...
  6. Keep the heritage redfish 12 in mind too!! We should start a thread with pictures of fishing kayaks~! I got a depthfinder/ff, 3 scotty rod holders, 2 flush mounts.. so far.. hehehe.. but seriously.. the wife has just about had it... and i've only had this thing for 3wks! hahhahaa.. Between rigging up this yak and getting new freshwater lures etc... it's a wee bit expensive... 8-)
  7. it's just not right i tell you... it's just not right... hahahaha congrats nice fish
  8. that would be loudon county.. i'm looking into burke lake but I think you actually have to pay if your not a fairfax resident.. any other bodies of water that are free that you guys might know of that yields good amounts of bass fishing??
  9. i've decided it's definitely not the angler.. it's the equipment.. i'm going to dicks today to pick up more crankbaits...lol .. the wife is not amused..
  10. Just curious, I try and take my kayak out that way a few times a week after work.. I see people on there on the weekends, not so much on the weekdays, unless its fairly early.. My fishfinder tells me there are tons of fish in there.. i just have little luck landing them..
  11. i'm new to bass fishing.. started fishing beaverdam in VA.. 3 out of 4 days i've fished that lake i've been skunked... and the 1 day I caught a nice one, was pure luck.. trolling off the back of my yak.. I've used top water/t-rigged-wacky senkos/crank/jigs etc... i've even bought a fish finder for my yak.. but it's on the fritz.. i'm about to cry... 'm about to cry... :'( :'( :'(
  12. oh thats hilarious, I just bought a new yak myself (Heritage Redfish 12) anyone know if there are any kayak fishing clubs in northern va? I know they have a few in va. beach, but i was hoping they'd have one up here..
  13. Heading down to Virginia Beach for the 4th.. should be a blast to watch the fireworks off the coast, then fish it afterwards
  14. Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the forum- I just picked up a new shimano sustain 2500.. To my surprise, reels have gone up quite a bit since last I bought (shimano spheros).. Now i've gone from Saltwater to Freshwater.. So i need a whole new setup.. Fishing primarly for different types of bass.. I was looking at a loomis 6 6 imx or st croix 6 6.. leaning toward the st croix (my other rods are st croixs and love the feel..) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. Also I don't yet have a boat, so I'm stuck on the bank for now.. hence the 6 6 isntead of 7... I don't know.. so lost.. talked to 2 guys from DSG and they are recommending the croix 6 6..
  15. Yeah I was thinking of going to Beaverdam.. Is it better on the back side or the church side?? Or is there another location that I should maybe try? I was thinking of walking to the concrete part, but i'm not sure if there is a path.. Thx for the heads up on the BPS inventory.. I'll be sure to call ahead to make sure they have everything i'm looking for..
  16. Thanks for the welcome. I live just west of Chantilly, VA. I'm eager to head down to Va. Beach this 4th and hit up the BassPro.. Looking to get a Loomis IMX and a Shimano Sustain FE!!! Been a LONG time since I've bought new gear, and saved up for this little present to myself ;D I'll be fishing some corporate ponds this week in chantilly..
  17. I'm fairly new to fishing freshwater in this area. I've only done saltwater most of my days.. Today was the first day I've fished in a while, and have caught 7 earlier today around 4pm and another 3 at 7pm at the same pond behind stone ridge.. all in all it was a great start to my first freshwater fishing.. Had no idea it was this much fun! They are however only 5-6" in length.. Would love some recommendations on better lakes/ponds/rivers.. I don't have a boat, so i'm limited to banks.. ;D
