First question- Does the weather from a hurricane affect fish bites?? This may sound stupid.. but who knows.. Sunday is slated for good weather.. but i think fri and sat should be rain.. Any help would be appreciated..

Lets do it, Schedule in a 6am Launch on the Occ.. I'll ask around and find out the best launch locations on the Occ.. I see a few good spots for launch on the va.maps.. On 9/6/08 6am. If anyone else wants to join us, that'll be great..we can get in a good day full of fishing

Nope, The Occoquan is a different location from the Beav.. I think the Occ is ranked #1.. and the Beav is ranked #5?? as far as population of bass ..BUT i AM eager hit up the Occ soon

Anyone have an experience with this reel? I noticed it only has a 4.7:1 Gear Ratio.. and I'm not too sure how this affects me.. but I just read a second ago that 6:1 is probably the best all around.. and since I wanted to use this as my all around reel.. hmm.. thinking I have to return it.. but I did manage to get it for a steel... paid 39bucks for it..

I was just curious if this is the right thing to do after a good day of fishing.. Is it smart to wash it down with a hose after fishing freshwater? I literally open up the hose and wash my reels/rods/ and hook/jig whatever after a day of fishing.. My pops told me to do this a while back after fishing saltwater.. but I was wondering if it's necessary in freshwater.. Also, I do lube up the spinning reels after a couple of uses.. any "maintenance" needed for a new baitcaster? To be specific it's the shimano citica.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
