  1. That sounds exactly like the weather around here lol. It always gets the most screwed up right before my tournaments too.
  2. Holy cow that's pretty helpless lol
  3. I would try a shaky head with a wacky worm on it. Me and my friend have had some good days on it even in super cold water. Drag it until you get stuck on some cover then shake it slowly and let it sit.
  4. The lakes I fish tournaments on in Illinois are really tough. We've had more than a few where 6lbs wins it. They are small lakes that get pounded and the weather around here is so screwed up the fish don't know what to do.
  5. Nice I took a day off work next week so I can go down there when it isn't too busy. May and June are really good months to go there because the fish really stack up on points.
  6. Thinking about high percentage spots since I will have to fish very slowly tomorrow morning to even get a bite.
  7. As you leave the dock if you are facing away from it its on your left but it could be pretty packed. If you don't have much luck there i would try going into the cold water arm just a little ways and find some coves.
  8. I haven't been down there yet I will be going in a few weeks but the fish in the warm water arm are probably spawning now. My friend was catching a lot on a swim jig a week or 2 ago.
  9. The worst weather I have been in was the first tournament i have ever fished. It had been in the 80's all week then tournament day dropped to 39 with heavy rain and 30+mph winds all day. At one point it even hailed for a few minutes half the boats left but we stayed out all day.
  10. Ike, Palaniuk, and Ehrler.
  11. I catch a lot of fish on a shakyhead with a wacky worm. If you find some good cover drag it up to it then shake it on it for a minute or 2.
  12. Always moss green for me.
  13. One of my best spots is a flat that runs all the way out to the main creek channel. It has a small point on the drop off along with a stump field.
  14. Illinois only has one lake on the list and its 4 hours away from me that sucks buttermilk lol. But ive fished 16, 36, and 90.
  15. I fish close to everyday when there is open water probably 150 days or more. I also have a pond literally right across the street from where i work so sometimes i just go over there for an hour or two after work.
  16. I got a bunch of trays since i have so many baits some of them are in cardboard boxes. Then i got a falcon bucoo but my dad put a broken rod in the container it came in instead for when i opened it.
  17. I definitely set my standards high when i just go out but even more so in tournaments. I think it has helped a lot though because i have made big improvements every year.
  18. Jigs, shakyheads, deep spinnerbaits, texas rigged worms, deep diving cranks. If i were you i would try a jig and if that doesnt work try fishing a shakyhead really slowly shaking it on the rocks.
  19. I mostly fish jigs or plastics but this year I would like to get better at the stuff i don't throw very often. I will probably throw crankbaits and frogs more so i get better at them.
  20. I never really take a break from fishing but towards the end of the year after tournaments i take a little break from bass fishing to catch some stripers.
  21. I think it is a good move because with it looking like a whole school of shad it seems like you are fooling the fish to much.
  22. Try pitching a white football jig at the cover close to the shad.
  23. I would fish the points from shallow to deep and start with a football jig. I would try to find rocky points because i have been finding a lot of fish around rocks this year. If the jig doesn't work one bait i would try is a shakeyhead. A few times this year i have gone through a spot and fished it thoroughly with a jig with no bites then picked up a shakeyhead and whacked em.
