Ever have one of those days???
GAH... You know, you guys told me about it, and I knew it was gonna be a stud, but seeing the pic.... unbelievable. That is a "perfect' fishing picture. Congrats on the tournament win, I never really got to talk with you guys. You and AJ(pitchinkid) really are great sticks, I'm really happy for you two. Next up... Stephens!!!

My new custom build - Thanks to Booten
Lol, I dunno... my volume of local orders are becoming a bit time consuming to fill, although I do enjoy it.

My new custom build - Thanks to Booten
Wow I'm not sure how I missed this, but thanks for the kind words! Its truely a privelege to be able to fish with guys like we have here. Jimzee is a great individual, he opened his house to a group of fisherman last year, and refused to accept any compensation. I'm by no means an expert builder, but if I can give my friends the benefits of my services, I'm more than happy to do so. I hope you guys get great use out of those rods, I really enjoyed making them!

STX or Energy PT or Curado
I've have(had) all three. For me, the curado owns them all. The PT was pretty close and I really disliked the STX. I'm replacing all that I have with green machines.

If you didn't go on the Roadtrip...
Wouldn't this work a lot better on those WV women? :running: Nah , they only like guys who catch Big Bass ;D Lol, but on Missouri scales, 5lbers are dinks ;D

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
The 5.4 actually came friday morning, but we did hit the majority of the others in a single day.

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Don't think I can let that jab pass by under the guise of humor Jimzee and I both dicussed my pics and the pic of pitchenkids fish. Those fish were really fattened up, after the spawn I would say both girls will settle around 4lbs +/-. Maybe you should have simply weighed your fish to remove speculation?? ;D

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
I thought while we're driving home, I would whip out the laptop and post some random fish pics from the past week. ** I'll fix the white spacing when I get home. I don't have photoshop on this laptop, and I"m starting to get car sick messing with this stuff... 5lber's - First was snagged on Tuesday, the second on Friday, just after the bad storm had passed. It appeared me smfisher, and pitchinkid were the only ones left on the water, lol. We caught a bunch of these pitching lay downs, during the best evening we had. These guys were abundant. You could work over a main lake point and catch these cookie cutters all day long...

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Myself, smfisher and AJ made it out this morning. We put on the rain coats and rode out the storms. I boated a 5.4oz largemouth just after the first storm passed. I boated a 5lb fish on tuesday as well. Pitchin kid brought in the only other 5lb+ fish I've heard of this week(besides burley). Smfisher and I caught TONS of 1-2lb fish, drop shotting/tubing main lake points. Was lots of fun, but we never found anything of size. We're headed home in the morning, but we're still contemplating a few hours of pitching laydowns before we head out. To sum it up, we've caught tons and tons of fish, but most were cookie cutter 10 - 12 inch bass. Smfisher and I did get on them one day this week, we stumbled across a jig bite just before dark landing numerous 3-4lb fish, with one over 5lb. Smfisher lost a stud right at the boats edge. He was pulling a jig with a spinning rig and didn't really get much penetration on the hookset. Its been a blast, great people, great food, and lots of fun fishing! I can't wait till next year!

Whoa, did you do something bad? Did you draw the shortest straw of all the BR mods? Is Glen punishing you for something? Having to take Burley allllll that way.... I'm feeling for you dude.....

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Me and smfisher are driving down now. I just spoke to Jimzee and they've boated 8 bass so far. I'm jacked...bluebird skies or not, this is gonna be great!

Knock Off Cranks
Sure you can, that's why its a knock off. Its not the real thing, albeit a preferred knock off would be made of wood.
-
I'm out for the trip...
It wouldn't surprise me if you two cats were working together on this one. In case Burley is being honest.... wow that just sux.
-
Knock Off Cranks
Has anyone tried any of these knock offs? Do they suck? http://www.predatorbassbaits.com/id85.htm They're pretty cheap, so I thought about buying a couple to paint and play around with.

And I second the motion, made by the man with his head on fire.

Rod modification?
You do great work Eddie, that's a pretty nice looking rod!
-
Rod modification?
You could probably make an attempt, but unless its absolutely necessary, I personally wouldn't. I've dismantled several rods and rebuilt them to spec. Each rod took a tremendous amount of patience and care, one slip up and you've ruined an otherwise good blank/rod.

STX vs. Patriarch
The STX is a great reel, for me it was simply too finicky for my tastes, end of story. I much prefer the s/sx/winch over the STX version. I have never tried a Patriarch, so I can't make a worthwhile comment on this reel. I have no idea why people get so personal about another users opinion of a piece of hardware. The STX is no doubt a very fine reel, if it was as horrible as "I" make it sound, Abu would have long pulled the reel from store shelves. In saying that, I also think its presumptuous for anyone to make broad assumptions about people who like or dislike the reel. I highly doubt any/many users will "outgrow" any of today's top of the line reels. I also don't think any user on this board can accurately assume the number or specific types of complaints users have against any type of reel. Much less accurately predict the number of people who have learned to "properly use" a reel. At the end of the day, use what you like and prefer, the fish sure won't have a problem with the label stamped on the side.

The Best
I knew right away it was PitchinKid posting. The last time he was on my boat we had to cut the trip 4 hours short, due to his elbow injury. He had patted himself on the back so much that day, I had to rush him the local ER.

Carrot Stix Plauge
I've fished with one for a day, and really came away impressed. I build my sticks, so I'm probably a bit more picky about components than others. The guides were my only real negatives, but I really haven't heard of people having problems with them, so I assume they function just fine. Overall I think they're killer rods, and very likely the best in their price range.
