  8. If you're having trouble logging into BassResource.com, does the logo block the upper left side of your screen like this? Then turn off your ad blocker. That's the problem, not our site. You can log in just fine when you turn it off (or make BassResource exempt). No, really. That's the problem. If the image you see looks similar to the one above (no ad under the green bar), the problem is that you're blocking ads, which also blocks the login function. So, if you want to log in to BassResouce.... TURN OFF YOUR AD BLOCKER and the problem will magically go away. Do NOT PM or email me if you refuse to turn off your ad blocker. I cannot help you. I just gave you the solution. It's the only way to "fix" it. I cannot wave a magic wand to make it go away. You need to turn off your ad blocker if you want to log in. And if that doesn't work, try turning off your ad blocker. But I don't have any ad blockers! Check the settings of your anti-virus software. Some have this "feature" built-in.
  9. I've been using Tatsu for finesse tactics for years now, and found it to be more abrasion resistant than Fluoroclear (was a longtime user of it before I switched Tatsu). That said, the new finesse lines from Seaguar really intrigue me. I talked to finesse guru Shaw Grigsby about it (video below), and he had some interesting things to say about it. However, it doesn't come in 4lb. The closest is 5.2lb - yes ".2" is accurate. Just shows how precision this line really is.
  10. Congratulations! May you have many memories with her.
  11. Deep diving crankbaits - what you need to know.
  12. Hey folks! I have the opportunity to interview some pros 1-on-1, and I want to include your questions. Literally. As in "Jake from Spokane, Washington asks...." So PM me your questions and be sure to include your real name, city, and state, and you'll get to see your questions answered in an upcoming video! Thanks! Glenn
  13. We've had overnight lows below freezing for over a month now (was 21 last night, it will be in the teens tonight). Many of those daytime highs didn't break freezing either. Fortunately for my neck of woods, cold weather = clear skies. So no snow. For warmth while fishing, I use these: Iaconelli told me about these while I was out fishing with him one cold early-spring day. Those things are awesome.
  14. Had a good friend of mine with the same issue. He would brew coffee right there on the deck of the boat using a Colman white gas stove (think "hiking") and an old-fashioned peculator-style coffee maker. Worked like a charm!
  15. Just so you know, there are thousands of folks at ICAST every year, employed by the fishing industry in some way, shape, or form. Many of them are my friends. All of them got into it because of their passion for fishing. The most common theme I hear every year is, "Ironic I work in this industry, yet have very little time to actually fish anymore these days."
  16. My wife, who's a guru when it comes to organization, made this video about how she organizes her fishing tackle. Some really good tips here!
  17. My fishes just as much as I do, competes in tournaments, and even competed professionally. Here's her latest video on tackle organization:
  18. Interesting, but.... Being first-to-market doesn't necessarily mean "the best", but it usually means "the most expensive". I expect to see dozens of copycats at ICAST this year, with more innovations and lower prices.
  19. I found that keeping a log in my early years of serious tournament fishing really helped me with my observation skills. Really made me focus on the right things. Now I keep more of a "journal" than a log, and includes what the top teams were doing, what I did right/wrong, etc. along with conditions observed.
  20. Yep. The University of Washington Huskies kicked butt this year, making it to #4, and it was like ESPN was grudgingly covering them, often insinuating the Huskies didn't earn it. When it comes to college football, ESPN is extremely biased, and doesn't try to hide it. Congrats to Clemson! I was rooting for them to win!
  21. Seinfeld reference.
  22. Watch this. It answers all your questions (even the ones you haven't asked yet!):
  23. I'm looking forward to trying the new "Rippin" mono from Seaguar. I understand it has low memory, and low stretch. Sounds like a great line!
  24. I find it comical that people have all these weird, conspiracy-type misconceptions around simple sponsorships. Most folks don't know how sponsorships work, so they make stuff up...and (I guess) try to make it "sexy" by adding rumors and gossip. Sponsorship is a business partnership. It nothing like, "Hey if I pay you, will you hawk my products, even if you never use them?" No, sorry. Instead, the essence of the partnership includes in part or whole (I'm not talking about prostaffing here): Company chooses what products they want you to use (normally their latest and greatest) Company educates you on their products (best practices, unique characteristics, value prop, etc) Company supports you in what I can best describe as an "elite" customer status kind of way. You learn everything you can about their products. You use their products during the course of your normal fishing routines. You act as a company spokesperson, answering questions, helping with customer service, and helping people understand how to use their products. You assist with marketing efforts (this varies greatly, depending on what you bring to the table). You provide product feedback to the company, both from personal experience as well as what you hear from "the street" The very top pros often participate in helping design new products and testing prototypes. Their wealth of knowledge and experience is very valuable to companies. There's more, but you get the essence. Note that exclusivity is not in the picture. It's all business and kinda boring, I know. But I guess people want drama.
