What Did You Learn From The Classic
I learned that this Classic has become WAY over-analyzed.

Casey Ashley Planted Over 50 Brushpiles On Hartwell!
Fluke doesn't have them on his boat. Makes sense he doesn't know their other fishing applications then. Examples of when I use them for fishing other than the spawn - To hold me in current (I river fish often). I often position in shallower bars and cast deep. - To hold me when fishing deeper points. I position the boat shallow and cast deep - To hold me when fishing in the wind. - To hold me when fishing deep ledges. Again, position shallow, cast deep. - To hold me when fishing weed edges - When I want to thoroughly work docks, beaver huts, brush piles, etc. - and so on, and so on, and so on... My point is that they're not just for fishing the spawn. I already said before that you don't use them in deep water.

Hey guys, let's be really clear on this (just to stop the "I'm right, you're wrong" nonsense) 1. Power-Poles, Talons, etc. aren't used in water deeper than 15 feet - duh. (exception goes to Power-Pole Paddles, which is for drifting) 2. Power-Poles, Talons, etc. are used on nearly every trip, regardless of where/how you're fishing. There are tons of uses in addition to holding on a spot while fishing. Before I got my Power-Poles, I was of the same mindset - why have them if you only use them briefly during the spawn? Turns out, I use them on every outing. I was very surprised to discover just how useful they are throughout the day of normal fishing. From holding the boat at the dock, to keeping the boat in place while I retie/rerig, to holding the boat while I release a fish, to....well you get the idea. It's like the argument people had against depthfinders when they first came out ("don't need it, waste of money"). Once you use them, you wonder how you ever got along without them. Ok, so moving on....

Classic Report
Had a great time at the Classic as usual. I finally got to meet Sam! We had an awesome BBQ dinner with a big crew from BassResource. Met a lot of old friends and made a lot of new ones. We have some really neat things coming your way soon right here. It's going to be fun! Oh, I almost forgot, I sat next to Bill Dance on the plane ride home. And buddy, he can talk! We had a great conversation about his childhood years and on up through his professional years. Some fantastic stories! I got a lot of (new to me) insights on the industry in the early years that's going to make some great trivia in the future (hint, hint). I'm sorry I missed some of you. The crowds were huge and time was short. Maybe next year!

Taylor Swift: Style
Would be better if Lady Gaga sang it. I can't stand TS. Everything about her just makes me cringe.

Anyone Here Daily Drive A Dually?
I have an F-450 Diesel Dually. The turning radius is excellent, so parking generally isn't an issue. However finding a spot long enough can be, at times (it's a king cab w/long bed). Also, there are few parking garages with a high enough clearance for it. Something to consider if you need to go downtown. One thing's for sure, it likes to have weight in the back. So it's a bit bouncy when empty. Not a major issue except on longer drives. Then it wears you down.

Ike Rods
I handled them. Seemed no different than the Villian rods, except the reel seat is slightly different (the lock nut is different). I have a few Villians, so I feel it's a fair comparison.

Tubes?
Normally I use Megastrike to lube up the jighead before inserting it into the tube, but if I did that, then everyone would've said it was a shameless sponsor plug. So I did it that way, and everyone is giving me a hard time for putting it in my mouth. Oh well. 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of another.
