Just goes to show how a good studio with special FX can make a mediocre "band" like Black Eyed Peas sound good: EG a "produced" band - lousy outside the studio.

I think we can safely say that experiment was a disaster.

  7. I love the beginning of the NFL season. Everybody is so optimistic about their favorite team - some maybe too optimistic. But at 0-0, anything can happen. As for my favorite team, the Seahawks, there's a LOT of new variables with this year's team that makes it hard to predict anything. An entirely new coaching staff, a ton of new players, revamped offense and defense....all untested except in the pre-season. And even though they were 4-0, I know that doesn't mean much. That said, on paper they should be one of the first teams to clinch their division. But their performance in the playoffs depends on who is healthy at the end of the season. Should be an interesting ride.
  8. Do not give up on bass too early this fall. Some of the best bass fishing of the year is still to come. Shallow cranks, spinner baits and traps should be part of your Late Season Bass Tactics. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/fall-bass-tactics.html
  9. It's refreshingly less like the sweltering summer of August. But for bass fishermen, September sometimes lands us smack in the middle of a month of confusion. Let Kevin VanDam guide you through it. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/Kevin-VanDam-Fall-Fishing.html
  10. That's a real dark fish. Congrats!
  11. Spinnerbaits! Woo Hoo!!
  12. Sounds like fun!
  13. On average, I fish 2 weekends a month....AT MOST. Obviously not as much as I'd like to, but obligations beckon. That said, there was a time in my life where I fished EVERY weekend, without fail, for a few years. Looking back on that time, it helped me tremendously with my fishing, but hurt me tremendously as well. It took too much time away from my friends, family, and other "stuff". There IS such a thing as "too much of a good thing is too much". That said, I, too, faced the same issues as you. Don't let them bring you down. Just because they "don't get it", doesn't mean you shouldn't pursue what you enjoy most. Case in point - Had I listened to "them", this site wouldn't have come into existence.
  14. Yeah, I'm not worried if Branch is traded. They have plenty of talent at WR. On defense, they cut safety Russel and signed Lawyer Milloy - a definite upgrade, if only for one year. They put Trufant on IR, so that's gonna hurt. So I'd say it's a wash overall, until Trufant comes back. Then, watch out! Other than that, the Hawks defense is MUCH better than last year. The pass rush is greatly improved, thus making up for the lack of talent in the backfield. And they have extensive depth and talent at LB this year. The 'Hawks need some help on the O line, however. That's where I see a trade or pic helping.
  15. For anyone following the roster cuts, which do you think is the most egregious bonehead move by any organization? I'll start with the Raiders cutting Garcia. They cut a seasoned veteran with a proven record so they could keep....Frye. DOH! Rumor has it he wanted a starting job and Al didn't agree - so he cut him. IMHO opinion, Al needs to leave the NFL. Everything he's touched in the past 2 decades has turned into dirt. I'm not a Raiders fan at all, but....man. I feel for anyone who is.
  16. Sounds like a fun trip. Mmmmmm...walleye!
  17. If you want somebody to pay you to go fishing, work on a charter boat or be a guide. If you think that if you win a bunch of tournaments, sponsors will be banging on your door, you're setting yourself up for some major disappointment. If you REALLY want to "go pro" and be "sponsored", then let go of everything you "think" you know about sponsorships and read these articles. Want Sponsors? 18. Champion boats aren't going anywhere. Their parent company, Genmar, filed for Bankruptcy, but doesn't mean they're closing - just re-orging. A smart move in this economy. As for Bass Cat - I've been in both of Iaconelli's Bass Cat boats and I have to tell you, his current one is head and shoulders above his old one. I don't recall what the models were, but the difference was night and day. I don't know if that's good or bad, really. I mean, if you buy a Champion or Ranger, you'll get the same quality ride and craftmanship regardless of model. Not sure if I'd want to purchase from a company that can't carry its quality and engineering across all models. Just a thought.

  20. I have several Wavespins, and a couple of the brand new smaller versions. I really like the smaller ones. The drag is very impressive, as it's ability to reduce bird's nests. I haven't had any issues with the paint or chrome, but it's peeling/chipping off my Abu-Garcia reels. I suppose I could send them back under warranty, but they'd just send them back with new parts that were made the same way. Boy, what lousy customer service. : And no, Wavespin was not a sponsor here. Doug Hannon was a contributor for some time here, and he designed the Wavespin. So that's probably how you heard about it. Oh, and finally - The design really does make for longer casts, and greatly reduces the amount of birdsnests. At ICAST this year I saw a number of copy-cat designs from well-known companies for both fresh and salt water reels. I guess that eliminates the "gimmick" aspect.
  21. Five.bass.limit and I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Classic a few years back, and he's everything everyone has said about him. A real class act. Prayers and thoughts sent his way.
