  1. I'm afraid we'll be sold out by then. But yes, we have come a long way in a short amount of time!
  2. A big THANK YOU to everyone who expressed support and a willingness to contribute. I'm very humbled, to say the least! I really am speechless. I'm amazed at the responses. There have been some good ideas presented here. I now have enough food for thought to go back to my think tank and conjur up something that works for everyone. I have to mull over a few things and assess the feasibility of a few possibilities. It might take awhile, but if I can pull off what's running through my head, I think everyone will be satisfied with the outcome. In the mean time, if you wish to support this site right now, simply click the Cabela's or Bass Pro Shop's banners before shopping on their sites. A portion of your purchase will then go back to this site. And please check out the rest of the advertisers on this site by clicking on their banners. If you purchase from them, they in turn, support us. You may also support BassResource.com directly by purchasing BR clothing items from the online store right here. Thanks again for your kind words, support, and creative input. This is why this site is so awesome. It's the collective brain doing more than any one person can. Side note: The server/bandwidth upgrade is complete as of this evening, however there's still some performance tweaking to do that should bring the speed back to normal. It will take a few days to dial it in. Thanks for being patient. Glenn

Went a little heavy on the THC there, did you Avid? LOL Kidding aside, I appreciate your kind remarks, and those of everyone else. Clearly this place wouldn't be the same without everyone who comes here. There are times I find myself laughing so hard I start choking, and other times I'm nearly in tears. It's a great group of friends we have here. Somebody mentioned they need a life because they're here everyday. I'd venture to say this place is a part of your life. That certainly is true for me! If you're reading this, you're the reason why I do this, why it's so enjoyable for me. You make it worthwhile. Thanks for being here!
  4. Check out our winter fishing section on the site: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/seasonal.html#winter Enjoy!
  5. Sorry, there are no plans at this time. The demand just isn't there.
  6. Sorry to say, but yes, they're gone forever. It is a clearance sale. Once items are sold out, they're not coming back.
  7. That's my caller tune*. * A caller tune is what you hear when you call me. It's NOT a ringtone.
  8. Perhaps of interest: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16660979/ My superbowl prediction: Colts vs. Saints. Saints will win it. Not that I think that's who SHOULD win it, or who I WANT to win, but if the script holds true to storybook fashion like it has previously, the NFL will make it happen.
  9. Just heard the sad news http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/6376034?FSO1&ATT=HMA
  10. Ok guys, I've been watching this thread closely for awhile now, and it's going nowhere fast. 6 pages of "Perry is the record holder" "Well, not REALLY", "Yes he is", "I doubt it", "California RULES!", "No it doesn't", "Perry is great!", "You have no proof", "I have enough proof!", "Well MY state is bigger than yours!" .... So unless you have something riveting and NEW to add, let's move on.
  11. Well, whoever ends up in the Superbowl, I'm rooting for the NFC. They need a superbowl win under their belts.
  12. Chicago got lucky and dodged a bullet. Saint's will win, and then will go on to win the Superbowl. The writing's already on the wall. It was there at the beginning of the season.
  13. Actually.... occasionally somebody signs up and there's a glitch that causes them to appear as an "ex-member", but they can still log in and post. I need to be alerted to those instances. In those cases, simply by changing their signup date fixes the problem, and removes the "ex-member" status, but only I can do that. And actually, it's not "Anyone who chooses to leave". It most often occurs when somebody chooses to delete their profile.... sometimes to create a new one, or sometimes to leave.

  15. Lot's of questions about catching the big girls and how to certify them. These articles should help: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/be_prepared.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/certify.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/Record_fish.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/trophy_bass_fishing.html Enjoy!

Hi folks - just a note to let you know that this really IS a clearance sale. Once an item is sold out, that's it. It's gone forever. The hats are already gone, so don't wait if you're thinking about holding off to get something until later. It might not be there.
  17. Truck: 1999 F-250 super cab, long bed, V-10 with towing package. Boat: Ranger Commanche 520DVX
  18. Hey that's really cool. I don't see any animals right now, but the sounds of the morning are amazing to listen to! Hey wait.... I think I just saw DB Cooper running in the background!

    Way too cool. Welcome back.
  20. Hank Parker's Classic (3/4 oz) and Hart's Shaker (3/8oz).
  21. Detailed instructions are in the FAQs.
  22. LMAO!!! Oh man!!
  23. BassResource.com recieves a small portion of the sale if the sale is a result from clicking on the BPS banner on BassResource.com. Clicking on the banner works just like any other link (so you can login and use their site per usual). It's just that the path is tracked through to the completed shopping purchase if a person enters their site from the banner. Currently there are no other banners on this site that work this way, although Cabela's is coming soon. For the rest of the banners - the advertisers are looking for exposure and traffic. If nobody is clicking on their banners, they don't see the traffic they're expecting, and they pull their ads. So please, click on their banners and check out their sites. And if you like what they offer, buy it. BassResource.com receives payment from advertisers, if you can believe that. And, believe it or not, I am picky about who advertises. If you buy something, and it works as advertised... hurray! I expect it. When you buy something and it works beyond your wildest dreams, and your fishing thrives because of it, don't blame me. Call them, and shoot 'em straight. Without precious, precious advertisers and our thoughtful members, I would have to pay for all this. Thanks, one and all. (How's that for the ultimate patronizationary talk?)
  24. Sorry to hear about that Matt. That's really hard on you and your family. But at least you and your family are adaptable enough and capable of finding new jobs elsewhere. Many families don't have that option.
  25. Just pick any boat ramp on Memorial Day Weekend and take notes.
