  1. You're comparing apples to oranges - corporate accounts to personal accounts. Totally different channels.
  2. Bassnleo, you are correct. When a cell phone gets wet, even "damp", it's toast. Doesn't matter what manufacturer or carrier it is. You can't have a tire "a little bit flat", no matter what make or brand. Getting cell phones wet is the same thing. As far as replacement goes, there's no obligation for the carrier to give you something free, that you just broke, when they weren't at fault. Ya, it would be nice, but they would go out a business pretty quickly that way. You see, with the low rates, cheap, and free phones, a carrier just breaks even on you on the 11th month. They sell the phones below cost when you sign up. They actually lose money to have you as a customer for a year. Hence the 2-year contracts. If they kept giving away phones, they would go bankrupt. That "$30" phone you can buy? It actually retails around $150-200. They eat the cost, but eventually make it back over time. Otherwise nobody would buy service if all the phones cost hundreds of dollars. So if you break it and have to replace it, there's no room for additional discounts. That refurbished phone is actually the cost of the phone without discounts. If you renew your contract, you're then eligible for another discounted phone because they know eventually they'll make it back. This also explains the high early termination fees. It's not fun, I know, but you wouldn't have any cell phones, or cell service, otherwise. As far as "raising a stink" - I'd be very careful about that strategy. If you have "less than stellar" credit, or have filed claims previously, then they're much more likely to hand you over to their competitor. In fact, they're happy to send their problem customers to their competitors. That is, of course, after you pay the early termination fees.
  3. LBH - I know you're kidding around, but some people are new and don't know you. So.... just so y'all know, LBH is the class clown around here, always cracking jokes and trying to add a little levity to an otherwise serious topic. *** The preceeding was a public service message. Now go fish! ***
  4. My father still has his 1970 Terry bass boat. He's had it garaged the whole time, and had it stored for 20yrs when he moved up to Alaska. He moved back, and uses it today. It's in mint condition. Even has the original MotorGuide trolling motor on it (that still works perfectly).
  5. Squid Jiggin'! Woo Hoo! That can be fun (and messy) when you get into a bunch of them.
  6. It is my pleasure to announce that Doug Hannon has agreed to answer your questions right here on BassResource.com! You might notice there's a new forum called "The Professor's Corner". This is where you can post your questions. Each week, he'll answer select questions from everyone here! This isn't a one-shot deal. He's here for the long-haul. Doug loves to teach, so ask away! Many thanks to Lane and LBH for paving the way towards making this happen. Let me be the first to welcome Mr. Hannon into our "family". Welcome Aboard! And please visit his site:

We've been sending out quite a few packages lately. Let's hear it from you!
  8. I was in a club tournament about 10 years ago when one of the competitors found a floating body. Apparently the guy had got drunk the night before and decided to go for a swim. A different time I was fishing and saw several police boats in the middle of the lake. They were there all day, going back and forth with divers. I had a hunch what was up, but it wasn't until later at home when I watched the news did I find out 3 teens drowned after partying late into the night, and then jumped into a canoe and paddled off, never to be seen again. Senseless, needless losses.
  9. Gameover, What you are suggestion constitutes fraud and is illegal. I don't appreciate any member on this site seriously advising people to commit crimes. Your longevity and membership here is in jeopardy at this point. Glenn
  10. Those are fantastic bass by any standards! Very nice! I have to admit, I didn't realize there were bass in France. I learn something new every day.
  11. I'm not sure what I'll have left by then, but I'll bring some items if there's interest. I suggest getting yours now if you can. Your size might not be available by then. FYI - there's only a couple of hats left.

Very nice! Nice bass. You have the image posting thing down pat (shhhh....). Gotta get bigger shades, though.
  13. I use braid for flipping/pitching, but that's it.
  14. Apologies for not responding to this sooner. As LBH said, everything is considered, regardless of response. This is not a dictatorship, so I am always open to ideas and suggestions. Regarding your idea about the logs. This would require MySQL or SQL database programming, with a PHP front end, compatible with multiple browser/OS versions. In essence, it's a custom application that must pass rigorous testing, and be secure. In addition, it must be scalable to accomodate multiple lakes, rivers, impoundments, etc. in an infinite variety of locations across the globe; and be able to scale to any number of users, without any performance issues on the site. Note that there are a lot of lakes named the same thing, so this will need to be accounted for as well. Also note, custom scripts are very expensive and time-consuming to implement and maintain. New features will need to be added over time, and security patches created/installed. Considering I'm not a database expert, this makes it even more complicated. I'm not saying it isn't a great idea. But, given the hurdles listed above, it's not feasible at this time. If there are any professional web developers out there with an expertise in MySQL databases that would like to volunteer their time for this project, then perhaps we can talk about the possibilities. But again, this would involve a very long-term committment to support the application throughout its lifecycle as upgrades and enhancements are made. Regards, Glenn
  15. That one response IS your answer. No need to reiterate it.
  16. I talked to one of the tech folks at Yamaha customer service. I have a series 27 cranking battery - plenty of power, and not used for the trolling motor. I have 3 deep-cycle series 27 batteries for that (yes, that's 4 big batteries total!). The motor is an '03 model. Again, I haven't talked to them in about a year, so perhaps they know the fix by now. I just haven't had the time to research it yet.
  17. Tangent airlines, now departing. .... let's keep it on topic folks.
  18. Yes, I have the same problem. I checked with Yamaha last winter and they said they were just learning about the issue, so they didn't have any suggestions yet. That said, I replaced the bulb with an Evinrude one (seems it's much beefier) and that really helped. But it didn't solve the problem completely. I suggest calling Yamaha. They may have a fix for it by now. Let me know what you find out.
  19. I suspect it has it's merits with disabled anglers though.
  20. I'm so proud of you! *sniff, sniff* Nice job on the pics and the fish!
  21. Here ya go! http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/pouring_plastic_worms.html
  22. Regardless of the date it is actually held, the spirit of Christmas is to celebrate His birthday. The fact that the entire world celebrates it on the same day is amazing in itself. Every man, child, woman, sister, brother, mother, father... all stopping what they're doing in their lives to celebrate on the same day. That is FAR more important that nickle and diming over actual dates vs. celebrated dates. Fair enough? Let's also keep in mind this is a fishing board. And as innocent as it may seem, it's impossible to keep ANY thread regarding religion from flaring up. It ALWAYS happens. So.... Let's stop before that happens.
  23. Thank you! Now I can sleep tonight! ;D

It doesn't get any better than that.
  25. Didn't Legend buy out another boat manufacturer, and then re-tooled and a launched Legend? I think that was the case 4 or 5 years ago. But I can't remember what company that was. I keep thinking it was Astro, but they were bought by Procraft. Aaargh! Now it's bugging me!
