Check your PM's George Welcome is the way to go. I have never fished with him, he has been a source of good info, in general for me. A couple of guys, from another local board were traveling form Conn. to Stick Marsh and asked if I knew anyone who guided, since I know George, I recommended him and they took him for a guide They had a wonderful and successful time, they wrote and thanked me, like I know all that much George wrote and thanked me, Seemed pretty good for all and so I continue to recommend him.

Cabelas seems to have more of a multi species attitude in their fishing dept. They have a wide selection including : Bass,trout,panfish, heavy on Walleye,pike,muskie and a nice salt ater section also.

Why not just go to a sligtly heavier jig. My partner throws 90% of his plastics using a split shot rig, he is constantly adjusting the space between the shot and the bait, until he feels he has the best rig for what he is fishing, works very good for him.

Prodigy is a good way to go. I would also keep your eyes on our Flea Market, I have bought many Bait casters for between 35 and 60 used, all were in great condition and all but the one laying on the bottom of the lake are all still in use by those who have them

Dave has a valid point, why use a good quality hook like an OWNER. if you want it to bend easily/ I could see looking for a lighter, smaller mil wire, to help the action out, but to bend easy; you are asking for trouble with a big fish You can either have all your lures in your tackle box and no fish, or loose some lures and catch fish, can't have both.

CABELAS: First started ordering from catalogs in the late 70's. My 3 favorites were . HERTERS, the old NETCRAFT ( little black and white catalogs, before Jann's took them over) and CABELAS. Then to the Internet site of CABELAS about 5 years ago , when I first got onto a computer HAMBURG store of Cabela's: been going there since it opened CABELAS; has incredible customer service. Replacing equi8pment you feel is not up to par , or you just don't like;they match all catalog or internet sales at their stores; and are pleasant to deal with on the phone. I tried BPS, their house reels were a better experience than Cabelas, but CABELAS is just my favorite all around supplier Good Equipment will just cost you good money. The suppliers all have about the same prices for quality equipment and you have to wait for you want to be on sale. I have purchased clothing,camping goods, and fishing equipment form CABELAS and their HAMBURG staff is always helpful. I avoid shipping charges by getting my orders from the net, sent to Hamburg for store pick up. End of season sales and the Bargin Cave are both ways to get deep discounts at CABELAS; in the store or on line 8-) I have recently started using Tackle Warehouse and with careful shopping and orders over 50 bucks you can avoid shipping chargers their as well While wal mart has the occasional sale on some name equipment , like Revos and such, try finding them at a local store, or asking one of their clerks any kind of technical question.
