Hes just not that into you.
This movie was OK, but it has to be the most Yuppieriffic movie that I have ever seen. Seriously, it was an entire cast of 20-somethings with jobs that could not have paid enough money to pay for all of their stuff. I did like that it showed a different side of Baltimore than most people are familiar with. Baltimore has been doing some positive things in terms of real estate redevelopment, but all anyone ever really sees about the see is the crime in the projects.

Who is your favorite Iron Chef?
Seriously? If so then I am just as surprised. So it's not just you.

Charlie Wilson's war.
I really liked it. It's the kind of role that Tom Hanks was born to play. He was unbelievably good.

Polarized Sunglasses Suggestions
I second the cheap-o suggestion. I have a $15 pair from Academy. They have amber lenses, which I think is an absolute must if you fish early or late, which I'm sure you do. Not to mention, remember Jeff Foxworthy's bit about sunglasses. You will alway lose an expensive pair, but no matter what you will not be able to lose the cheap ones!

Top Chef
Anybody watch last night? I was really impressed with Fabio's handling of his broken finger. "Go to the hospital? I'd rather cut it off and sear it on the flat-top before I quit this challenge." Then I thought he would make a big deal of it to the judges for a sympathy vote, but he kept the hand behind his back the whole time. Very classy. As far as Leah going home, I thought Stefan actually lost that challenge, but no one wanted to send him home since he has won so many challenges, which may or may not be fair. But he overcooked a piece of salmon, which is something that they really harp on, and many other chefs have been sent home for overcooked fish.

Feelings on A-Rod??
They get into college because they are great athletes, grades are secondary. Most schools make sure athlete's maintain their playing eligibility if you know what I mean. I went to Univ of Mich and those athletes can't tie their own shoes. Kudos to Joe Paterno at Penn st., only I can think of that puts education above athletics. Has a very high graduation rate. You think these Pro fisherman are any smarter. I've watched Bass tours, redfish tours, walleye tours , sails and kings. I can't understand a word they're mumbling. Maybe I'm just naive, but I have a hard time believing that schools will make amends for a guy who can't read or write just because he has a good jumpshot. The big basketball powerhouses, Duke, UNC, Wake Forest et al, all have very good academic reputations, and they wouldn't risk that reputation just for a good athlete. Good athletes are a dime a dozen, they know they have to keep their grades up. It's possible that bigger schools like Michigan or Texas or Florida might let some athletes slide, but I also doubt that. I had a friend at LSU who worked as a private tutor for the football team, teaching math to guys like Jamarcus Russell and Doucet. He did say that these guys were dumb as a box of rocks, but they all made the grades without any "help." And he made good money. The athletics department wouldn't have paid him what he made if they could just "fix" the grades later on.

Feelings on A-Rod??
89%? Where did you get that number? I'm interested too. After all, most of them did go to at least a year of college, which means they had to get into college.

FAVRE is retiring...AGAIN
I can't blame him at all for playing this long and coming back from retirement. Anyone who has ever played a sport that they love at a highly competitive level knows what it's like to just hang it up one day. Heck, I still have dreams to play D1 college soccer, even after an ACL reconstruction. So I can't blame him for wanting to keep playing... I can blame him for the way treated the Packers and their fans by having secret talks with the Vikings and what-not. He should have been open about his feelings to play elsewhere, instead of faking a retirement. That has made him a bit of a joke.

Feelings on A-Rod??
I read an ESPN article today explaining this. The founder of the Players Union said that there were only 8 days between the test results being finalized and subpoenas were issued by federal officials. So they didn't really have time to destroy the tests. But now that A-Rod's name has been leaked, the others need to be named as well. I know one thing, if I were one of those other 103 players, I could not possibly play while waiting for the axe to fall each day.

Feelings on A-Rod??
I'm not surprised, and I am surprised at the same time. I always thought A-Rod was one of the guys you could count on to be clean. I am also concerned about the image that this gives kids; steroids already were a huge problem at my high school, and essentially condoned by the football coaches. It happened every year without fail: the kids would leave school for summer break after sophomore year, and come back 3 months later 50 lbs bigger with full beards. I know some kids do hit crazy growth spurts, but not every kid who was slated to go from JV to Varsity. I had several friends on the football team who were very open about their steroid use, and I have seen first hand the effects of "Roid Rage." While school administrators have spent all their time trying to stop such trivial issues like pot, steroids have snuck in the back door and become almost completely acceptable.

Michael Phelps does it again...
He is one person who is definitely happy about the A-Rod story. But seriously, the A-Rod story puts it in perspective. All these baseball players are doping up, with very dangerous drug with proven long-term health affects, and no one really complains. Sure, the government is trying to make an example out of a few players, but they still have a lot of support. Meanwhile, Phelps smokes a drug that has never been linked to any deaths, ever, and it's this big of a story? Let's give him credit for being one of the few big-time athletes not using roids.

High school basketball officials
I would like someone to explain to me the fouls in basketball. I really enjoy watching, except it seems like you can't play defense without fouling somebody. In soccer, I was taught to play strong, physical defense. Nothing dirty, but basically maintaining constant contact with the offensive player (shoulder checks, slight elbows, etc.). I understand that basketball isn't really a contact sport, so you shouldn't be able to check or tackle somebody, but when LeBron drives to the hoop, how do you stop him without fouling? Seriously, I'm not knocking basketball, I would like this explained to me so that I can become a better educated fan.

Who is your favorite Iron Chef?
I like Flay for personality, but Morimoto is so far ahead of them in skill that he should have his own show. When the other guys are cooking, its a coin toss as to whether or not they'll beat the challenger. When Morimoto is cooking, I'd bet my house that he wins, and I'd throw in my car on a bet that he gets a perfect score. The only one I've ever seen him lose is the chile pepper contest. Which isn't hard to understand, since chiles aren't native to Japan, and the guy he was competing against specialized in Mexican/Southwestern cuisine. That show lent the funniest moment in Iron Chef history: Morimoto was tasting the peppers as he went, since he didn't know what each one tasted like, and he took a huge bite out of a raw habanero. It was hilarious.

Lil Wayne
I'm not really a fan, but I haven't listened to much of his stuff. I was in a country western/sports radio rut for about the past 4 years. Now I'm starting to open up the radio dial a little bit, and I really like some stuff. I'm really getting into some of the new stuff by Kanye, T.I., and John Legend (he's not really a rapper, but some of his songs crossover).

Color Blind?
To me, the hardest part of fishing color blind is not identifying lure colors. It's complicated, but I can generally tell what color something is when I'm looking at it. Its only when colors are next to each other, they tend to blend, so it's hard to see individual colors. For instance, when I'm fishing a texas rig or other finesse presentation where I have to watch the line for a sign of a strike, that's tough. It's hard to see most fishing lines, though I found a bright blue flourocarbon line that is easily visible when wearing polarized glasses. Muddy, your partner's system is the same way I pick out my clothes. My girlfriend picks them out ;D Haha and my parents ask me why I always move in with all of my girlfriends. It's so I don't leave the house looking like a circus clown!

Color Blind?
Just remember that green is on the bottom and red is on top. Yeah, that's actually why the yellow light was put between the two, and not on an end. The problem there is that some states, Texas for one, have the lights sideways. Also at night, it's pretty hard to see which position the light is in. I'm just glad that I don't really have to drive anymore. Big city mass transit is nice.
-
Color Blind?
I am. Can hardly drive at night because there isn't enough contrast between streetlights and traffic lights. Even during the day it is tough. When coming to a traffic light, I generally have to base my decision to stop or go based on what the other cars are doing. I can't tell you how many times I have realized in the middle of an intersection that I just ran a red light.

Who Will Be NBA Champs: Celtics or Lakers?
Is it just me, or does Rondo remind you of the velociraptors from Jurassic Park when he runs? I'm not knocking the guy or anything, he's a great ballplayer, I just can't watch the Celtics without thinking about Jurassic Park the entire time.

Finally !!!!
I've never had to go that long. When I was a young kid, like about 7 or 8, we were out of power for about a week... And I could not have thought it was cooler. We cooked meals on the fireplace and slept in sleeping bags in the living room, in front of the fireplace, and we didn't have school! It was the best week of my life. I might think differently about it now, I got upset when my girlfriend messed up during the move and I had to go two days without cable. I'm glad you guys have your power back.

Sirius-ly...
My girlfriend has it in her car, so I get to listen to it a lot. I really like all the comedy channels. Only bad thing, all the buildings in downtown chicago really make the reception spotty.

Who Will Be NBA Champs: Celtics or Lakers?
Neither, the Cavs will win it. Lebron is finally becoming the player he was billed to be. And if the Hornets stay healthy, the west needs to look out for them. With Chris Paul in the game, you can never count them out. He does some stuff thats just mind blowing to watch

NFL Player introductions
I was wondering about that. I didn't know the particular player, so I thought he may have meant Louisiana-Lafayette/Monroe.

Way to go Steelers!!!!
While I don't think Holmes got the foot down, I don't think there was enough evidence to overturn. Though seriously, how ironic would it have been if they did overturn that call. Refer to the Steelers/Ravens game for more information ;D

NFL Player introductions
That always surprises me as well. In fact, I think more than half of the starters last night were from non-BCS schools, and many of the others were from lower tier BCS schools. You will notice, though, that most teams get their secondary from SEC schools. And Ohio State. You can almost bet that any given game will have 2 or 3 starters from Ohio State.
