  1. I think you'll really like the E5, mine casts great and doesn't over work you with the deep divers. Great reel
  2. Welcome
  3. My little sister was telling me about the vampire thing, said it was a book. She is a vampire nut (not twilight) think she has every book Ann Rice ever wrote. Then again she is young and blonde, not a good combo! Epitomizes every blonde joke
  4. Out of curiosity, which gear ratio did u get? E5=20ipt, E7=28 & the 50 is 25ipt, going from memory but these figures are close
  5. I use it with my Sammy type lure, works fine. Yes it does sink but not much faster than wet mono. To those who will argue, mono is open cell meaning it soaks up water, the first few minutes it stays on the surface only slightly better than the yz. Once water logged almost no difference.
  6. Just a heads up was in the sportsman warehouse in Columbia SC today, mossback g-loomis rods on sale 159. I know nothing about G-loomis, but know some members here like them.
  7. IMO either baitcast set up u described will be fine, I use a medium powered rod a lot for small worms, jigs and spinnerbaits. I believe your surf rods should serve well for cats. Of the spinning tackle u described the lighter of the two will serve u well for crappie. How long will u be in the states?
  8. The 200E came in two gear ratio, E5 5/1 E7 7.1/1
  9. I've had three still have two, good stick for the money, sensitive and light. I like the power hump handle on mine but some ppl don't. Mine are the older black blank, im6 composite.
  10. I probably shouldn't admit this in public but I bought 3, red, chartreuse, and Shad. Ugggh think they are still around here somewhere.
  11. I get mine online at Ebay, big fish sports is the Web store, I pay five or six bucks for 600 yard spools, I can't find it locally
  12. Great looking gear, now go fish. Enjoy
  13. That's the WVU Mountaineer band from a couple years back, and it is an awesome display. A-Jay did ya notice the Coast Guard is even represented. The contrail from the air force plane and the revolving propeller on the sub, very cool detail. If only the football team could play as well a the band marches, lol
  14. X3 its on 6 out of 7 combos, one has braid for frogs
  15. A-Jay , Dwight, and Fish Chris should offer guided trips, wow.
  16. I wish I had a specialty!!!
  17. IMO because they can get it. Just like anything else there is a market for the product. Their market is what the fishing world calls the enthusiasts. Personally I would not buy a Loomis just to much money spent on an item that in the long run is disposable, but other ppl get satisfaction out of having what they consider the best. Every activity has brands that cater to different market niches, take Sporting Clays for example, you can be proficient using a pump shotgun, many ppl shoot auto loading shotguns Benellis, Berrettas, etc. You can hit the course with what ever shotgun u like, in that hobby a custom Fabbri is what many consider top gun, at $50 grand a gun, not many are seen. But others use a custom Purdey starting cost around $100 grand, minimum of two trips to England to be measured and about 18 month wait. How are they still in business? Because ppl are willing to pay, are these the best guns made?? Depends who u ask. Its the same with fishing, or golf, or cars, clothes the list goes on.
  18. I know Sam is a fan if green top as well. There us one local shop here I like. The guy running it is young but seems knowledgeable, he let me help pick out some RAGE products so maybe he isn't all that smart after all.
  19. It happens a lot during the unofficial trout season back home. Starting in January til first of April several streams and lakes are stocked with rainbows. There are several ppl who literally follow the stock truck, dnr provides daily updates on what stream or lake was stocked. The next day it is literally elbow to elbow on the more popular creeks. It is nothing to be fishing a spot have other ppl roll in and try to take over. Typically these ppl throw in one or two spots and move on. Been my experience that ppl who try to take over don't have what it takes to stick it out and fish, I give them a few minutes and typically they move.
  20. I have a few old reels, knuckle busters, no anti reverse and a leather strap on the back for drag. The line looks like parachute cord, pretty cool, mine are in storage right now.
  21. I wish they still made good westerns.
  22. Man I really hoped it wouldn't have come to this..........ok you guys win
