  1. If your neighbors don't think your crazy then you haven't put enough time in practicing in the yard!
  2. Hopefully Dwight will respond to this, if not shoot him a pm, he has always been helpful when I've contacted him. You may want to post in the smallmouth section. Also under the fishing tackle section there is a thread pinned on jerkbaits that will be helpful
  3. That is awesome!!

Look like water booms, you know the kind put around a hazardous spill.
  5. Cotton Cordell makes a suspending super dot
  6. I've been called my son's grandfather my wife's father. I just take it all in stride this started happening in my 20's. It was cool when I was in high school could buy beer, now its not as handy but now on my 40's seems that my appearance and age are equalizing.
  7. I have great success with a ribbon tail worm as a trailer, no extra hook
  8. I use spring scales, weatherproof, reliable and accurate, best of all its always working. No batteries to crap out when ya need it most. Easy to adjust and get certified, typically less expensive than digital.
  9. I bought a M/L baitcast rod and a 50 size reel, so excited to use it I took it to the creek to trout fish. First cast hang up across the creek, nothing to do but wade across and get it, except the water is way to deep for that. So I head up the creek and wade across at the rapids. Of course I fall and lose my sandals, stumble my way back down to retrieve my lure, I'm wet, shoeless and defeated, I end up falling again this time in the mud, So there I stand no shoes, covered in mud and shivering from the cold, plus I cut my feet on the creek rock. And best of all it was in full sight of an occupied campsite, and by now the campers have all turned their chairs around and are watching the bare footed idiot!!! I retrieve my lure from the tree branch and decide just to fish the side of the creek I'm now on. A few minutes after retrieving my lure, I look and low and behold there are my sandals floating in the creek. I come up with the bright idea of hooking my shoes using my inline spinner. So I get all ready, people still watching, and make the first cast at my shoes, unfortunately on the back swing I tangle my lure in a tree branch, and of course backlash the reel!! I sneak a peak up the hill and the campers are by now holding their stomachs and wiping the tears from their eyes!! Long story short I finally get my shoes back and leave as quickly as possible. Sometimes you just can't win.
  10. That's funny right there.
  11. Ok, you know how some ppl have that knack for doing or saying stupid things? Or just have funny stuff happen to them? Sometimes I think I'm at the top of that list. I've heard ppl say their life is like a soap opera, mine is more like a sitcom. Thought we could share some stories. I'll start while in the Coast Guard, we had inspections just like every other branch. On one occasion we had just got a new commander at the group level. Of course they wanted to tour all the units and do an inspection. On that fateful day I made sure all of my guys were standing tall. Got dressed and had the XO look over my uniform, good to go. Well it was cold that day, were are all in formation waiting at attention. The commander finally makes it to me and after a minute she asks "petty officer what's that on your jacket?" I look down and inform her, "Ma'm that would be a booger." The guy next to me busts out laughing. So much for making a good first impression! :-)
  12. Glad ya made it Bobby, looks bad up that way. I think Glenn's disclaimer makes it obvious he was poking fun at the media not the storm
  13. Thanks I went to the Bill Lewis site, still make them. Once the doctors quit using me as a test subject and get my neck and back fixed I'll be getting some.
  14. Wonder if they're still in production? I want some, I've some suspending models, I like them.
  15. Hmmmmm, what is the mechanism to make them dive? I knew there were suspending models but not floating. Can ya post a pic
  16. I've said it many times, the best scales IMHO are spring. The are easy to get certified, easy to adjust, do not depend on batteries, are water and weather proof and are accurate. FishChris a dedicated trophy smallmouth fisherman and member here is the one who turned me onto getting my scale certified, now if I ever get lucky enough to catch a state record I don't have to hunt for a certified scale. Next time you get gasoline you can get the number to your state's certification people as all pumps must be certified every year and they will certifiy your scale, anything for money, lol. I don't know about digital scales, but I would imagine everytime you change batteries or your battery gets low it would have to be recertified.
  17. Without a doubt my favorite is the Pro Clacker II (pic attached), I also use Booyah, and Strike King. Color depends on forage and water clarity and also how much sunlight or if its at night, black /blue, Chartruese and white, white and blue, white, chartruse, sometimes no skirt at all but will put on a Zoom Swimming Fluke
  18. U don't necessarily have to take one lure. Lets say you want to learn drop shotting. Only that rod and terminal tackle, but take a couple of different soft baits, ie Robo Worms, baby flukes, etc. different colors to experiment. I took several different crankbaits when I was learning. Or senko fishing, that bait can be used t-rigged, wacky, Carolina rig, weightless, on a stand up jig, etc. But without committing to that bait for a while you would never experiment
  19. Everytime I want to learn a new bait or technique everything else stays home. Forces u to learn or get skunked. I will say that it is the best way to learn. Crankbaits for example, would have never learned how and where to fish them if I hadn't left everything thing else at home. Its to easy to pick up the jig rod or senko rod to avoid a skunk.
  20. It was meant more for the humor, no I'm not a bad neighbor. Still can't believe I didn't notice it was their yard!
  21. Already started think its under the general forum
  22. They were not upset as it was all leaf litter and it landed in a tree line, in fact they never knew. It was funny but I had to clean it up. Just didn't feel right not, well my kids did the cleaning
