  1. I've watched him on TV for alot of years. Seen him catch thousands of bass and get old. Just like me, except for the thousands of bass part. :-[
  2. My two favorite new shows of last year were put on "hiatus" I figured that was the kiss of death, but they're back. Now if i just figure out what "Lost" is all about then my tv world will be a happier place.
  3. What a lucky guy. Everyone is already ticked so you might as well go fishing
  4. I tried those pre rigged ones when I was new to c-rigging. Complete waste of money. I never really liked to c rig, but as it works really well in my neck of the woods i have one stout rod always set up.
  5. I never noticed the line tie moving so much as the whole hook will move inside the frog body. I never needed to change out hooks because the body would get pretty tore up b4 the hooks needed changing but owner makes a frog hook that is really strong and really sharp.
  6. For me spinnerbaits have it all over crankbaits when it's windy.
  7. Rage tail strikes again. Go get em Mrs. M.
  8. I've caught LMB thru the ice in upstate NY keep fishing. If they are there, you'll get a bite. Sooner or later. 8-)
  9. He was great to watch on TV. Wasn't really known as a bass fisherman, but that never stops anyone.
  10. I did find that switching to bigger baits increased the size of the catch, but in all honesty, not by much. So then I went to "supersize" baits, like California sized swim baits, and caught nothing. Now I fish what's proven on my lakes and what I enjoy. I don't fish as much as I used to, but I have more fun than ever.
  11. Unless your fishing for meat or cash I see no reason to use a method that you hate, I mean what's the point? As sport fisherman we are out there to have fun.
  12. I used to work at the top of a tall office building. If I had some time on the books I would look west and if I saw a storm front moving in, I would take the rest of the day off, and zoom out east getting to the water before the front hit. Those were some of my most productive outings. I always found that getting on the water just prior to the barometer dropping was as close to a sure thing as I ever found
  13. Carp are a bronzed on the sides. I had a similar experience one time. It was early March. Just after ice out on Long Island and I was crappy fishing with tiny maribou jigs. A 24 lb carp sucked down my jig. took me nearly 30 minutes to land it on 4lb line. Quite the memorable day.
  14. Says 87 which is fine for now.
  15. I'm totally about hog hunting this year.
  16. I lost a bunch of tackle, and a pricey rod and reel, Here's a photo of a tackle box I lost overboard and found almost a year later during a drout.
  17. Florida bassin and horney toads were made for each other. Been chilly lately...Glad to see you still out there.
  18. Done. God bless you all.

    big head. Must be juiced
  20. Love that zydeco music
  21. Kinda sickening to have to see all that dead wildlife eh? But that cold snap we had was brutal. Good luck out there.
  22. I find Loomis rods to be a tad more sensitive than the corresponding price range St. Croix's. But for overall satisfaction St. Croix builds great rods. They are fer sure sensitive enough, they feel great, balance well and the power/action balance is outstanding. I have several St. Croix rods starting with the avid series up through the tournament bass and into the legend elites...I enjoy fishing with all of them. Plus St. Croix service is top notch.
  23. I have mine a little over a year. No problems...Zero. connection is fast and trouble free, no interference with any other systems in the house. sorry to hear about your troubles, hope you get it all sorted out.
  24. Oh yeah! It was on one of my early trips to stickmarsh. I was running a spinner bait past the wood when there was huge swirl and a thud. I set the hook and the rod bent but I couldn't move the fish at all. This was a B-I-G bass. With incredible speed he darted toward the boat at an angle and got off. I never saw him but like I said this bass was big.
  25. so the debate as to next WRB has begun. I have seen how many of these posts over the years? Well, let's just say "many" I can't remember one poster saying Japan would host the next world record, yet here they are.
