  1. Hard to beat the TRDs
  2. Mine also had "delayed" as the status and said it had been left at the facility. Hopefully I'll still have it before my Friday evening fishing trip since I paid for the 2 day shipping. If it doesn't it isn't the end of the world. Probably willing to bet that TW sends out extra promo codes to people whose packages were delayed.
  3. Pretty sure you are talking about the Shoestring Mo' Better Buzzbait that Bass Pro Shop sold years ago. Don't ask me how I remembered this.
  4. I caught a decent fish today on about my 9th cast with the Shadow Rap. Caught him letting it sit beside a brush pile I had planted for some crappie. Didn't fish it long, because the fish were choking down a crankbait instead. The jerkbait bite here in SC should explode over the next 2 weeks with the water temps rising.
  5. Saw these earlier at Academy Sports. Priced at $7. They looked decent, but I didn't buy any because I just purchased several new jerkbaits from the Classic Expo. Seems like the multi-bait school is the new in-thing trend for lures.
  6. Chartreuse Shad is hard to beat.
  7. I've never used the Stren braid before, but I figured for the price it was worth a shot. The mono on the other hand will all go on some pond set ups for bream & catfish. I help out each year with a fishing rodeo that introduces kids to fishing and that line will work out well for those kids set ups.
  8. Would you pass up on a deal like that on braided line?
  9. Plum to answer your question... most everything I purchased was close to 90% off. The line was ringing up for under $2 per spool. The cranks $1.74 Each. The sinkers and jigs were under $1 each. The swimbaits were under $2. I left Dick's spending under $100. The crappie jigs on the far left came from Academy and we're clearanced out also. If you'll learn when your local stores reset their planograms each year.....you can real mop up on sales. Anymore questions homie?
  10. The bait monkey got me last week pretty good. Hit a heckuva sale at Dicks. Got all of this for under $100 Total. Can't wait to see what the bait monkey buys at the Bassmaster Classic Expo this weekend
  11. Pretty neat concept. Might give it a try tomorrow.
  12. Adam, nothing you throw will outproduce my jerkbait. I'll see you at the tournament.
  13. Do you have a pic of that frog or a website?
  14. I prefer the Jackall Flickshake worm over all other types of worms that I have tried. I have experimented with a variety of other baits on the flick shake jig head and haven't found one yet that will outperform the Jackall worm on a consistent basis. The fish pictured below fell victim to a Jackall flick shake worm on the Jackall jig head in 18 ft of water, I was working the bait about 9 to 10ft down in the water column. Best lure for suspended fish I have ever used. As a side note, a Zoom fluke, the flat-sided one, is deadly wacky rigged on the Jackall jig head.
  15. I have a few Crank R's and they are decent crankbaits for the price. All the ones I have run about 3-4ft max and they have a really unique rattle in it. The ones I have are similar to a one-knocker bait with one single bb in it and it sounds almost like the Rapala Clackin Rap. You dont hardly see them anymore. The few I have a bought at a huntin and fishin expo for 1.50 a piece. Size, weight, and action is very similar to a Wee R in my opinion. I'm sure you'll be able to catch some fish on them.
  16. I fish speed worms rather extensively during the summer months for deep water and I recently bought a few packs of the Magnum Speed Worm and every one of them had that lil indentation, but the fish did not care. I just used them as a hook slot for the giant hook that you have to use for that giant worm.
  17. my mistake man, where I am from we are use to calling all sunfish colors....bream colors. Just a habit. I'll clarify next time.
  18. Good choices. Let us know how that Basstar prop bait does. I have been eyeing that as well. Might pull the trigger on one when *** has their annual Labor Day sale.
  19. I'm still saying the Kelly J. In the last month here are a few pics of fish I caught on the Bream Kelly J. Needless to say you can see why I love the Kelly J. Top fish was bout 4lbs, the middle was 5lb 13oz, and the last 2 pics (same fish) weighed 7lb 9oz. All were caught in August.
  20. I like the Kelly J, cuz it comes in the *** exclusive color Sunfish. I have absolutely smoked them on that bait in the last two years.
  21. I've always pondered what if you were in a tourny and lost to a guy that had gut hooked a fish or two with a 1/4oz shakeyhead. If he took time to remove the shakeyhead it would kill the fish and suffer the dead fish penalty. Lets also say that he fishes in 1st place and you fish in 2nd place and you end up losing by a 1/4oz or less. Would you not lobby that their was a foreign object in that fish that caused you to lose the tourny. Just food for thought and a question I have always wondered.
  22. Nice carolina bass. What golf course were y'all at
  23. The Academy H20 Express Brand popper is the only pop-r style bait I know that will consistently walk the dawg. The come attached with an oval split ring and that split ring is the main reason it walks so well. Also they contain a unique rattle and come dressed with a long white feather on their rear treble. I have had several days this year of 100+ fish days on these baits. I use to use the bone white color religiously, but since they introduced the bluegill color I tend to throw it more and for only 3.79 per bait its hard to beat. I have also found that using a spinning rod helps walk the dog better with a pop-r style bait. Here are a few pics of fish that fell victim to an H20 Express Pop-R in the bluegill color. The pics of the stripers came practing for a tournament. Me and Buddy caught about 25 a piece each day for 3 days over the course of an hour and half schooling at Lake Greenwood.
