  1. Thanks Wayne. I thought that I heard there were some in the South Anna. I was thinking of parking at the ramp off of 33 and wading it when the weather warms up.
  2. Went out to a pond yesterday after work for about 45 minutes just to get out. I caught one small bass on a shad spoon and UL rod/real, but that was the only hit I had. I still enjoyed it though. Does anybody know where I could find chain pickerel in the Richmond area? I've never caught one before and would love to try.
  3. you talking about belle isle? That's the only one I can think of. vatech should check out Pony Pasture too if the river level is safe. Not sure what it is right now.
  4. I like Ed Allen's. I think it's around $35 for a boat with 6hp motor, and you can rent trolling motors too. Not sure how much they are. The people there are really nice. If you go a little later in the day, the bass will slay topwater lures.
  5. Last time I rented it was either $34 or $36 without a trolling motor.
  6. There are a few ponds up the road from Rooty, which has a lot of crap in it right now. Every cast you come out with weeds and algae. That was about a month ago...maybe it has cleared up by now.
  7. Eels, huh? Maybe I'll try throwing some eel lures just downstream of the fall line to see if I can entice any stripers. Anyone done that before? Earlier this year, DGIF said shad cam was out of commission for this year. Glad they brought it online!
  8. I have, and it's not been good. There's so much grass/algae in that lake it's annoying. I'm going to start trying the other ones in the area.
  9. Went out today again and didn't catch a thing. The game warden said everyone was having a slow day. I can't catch a break!
  10. I might head to Rooty tomorrow evening to try my luck. Good luck Sam!
  11. Really? How do you fish your shad dart?
  12. How far up from the dart (assuming that's what you're using)?
  13. I live in Richmond. Took a many year hiatus from freshwater fishing, and just started back up again last year. I mostly try to hit some of the ponds and the upper James for smallies. I'm not very good at any of it yet. This year I plan to try the lower James for some cats.
