  1. Sweet gator! Funny when I was at BPS guy looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked it they carried anything like that.
  2. BTW, the bookmarks on that browser are interesting, including "Drunked Stepfather", "TMZ.com", "PrezHilton.com". etc. LOL
  3. We had a local grocery chain (Winn Dixie) do the same type of thing. We had a $150 charge to our card, well it got ran 10 times and the retarded bank processed all 10 transactions. (Sounds like a for loop gone bad) We went fuming to the store. I was susprised, the manager was extremely understanding and I mean he stopped everything to deal with it right away. Turned out it was the bank that did it. They showed me they charged and got paid once. So I called the bank they fixed it right away. Happened again 2 weeks later, the guy on the phone at the bank said it would take up to 30 days to process the refund this time. I went to physical bank branch and yelled so loud security came out see what was going on. The second time, they basically emptied my entire checking account. The organic person refunded my money right away. I thanked her and then instructed her to write a cashiers check for all my checking, and savings accounts. I opened an account at another bank that day. To me when a merchant screws up that is one thing, they usually have low resources and a low knowledge of technology. I know from personal experience in quick service IT, they are the pure definition of shoestring budget on their IT systems. A bank however, exists to manage money and financial transactions. For them to royally screw up their systems like that and then refuse to fix them, unacceptable. Anyway, glad your friend got the money back without too much of an issue.
  4. Nice....
  5. hey man, I got a tracker topper 1436. (See customizations: http://s974.photobucket.com/albums/ae227/MStarr13/) Mine has a 8 hp OB. It moves pretty good with it if I am alone, with another adult it moves but would be better with a 10 hp. With the 1446 I would not go any smaller on the engine. My 1446 works great though for fishability. I also have a 50# TM on the back of mine and added an eagle cuda 168. Stability wise, if you are both sitting it is fine, 2 people standing though, you could throw each other off quick. Also, before the mod with the seats as close as they were you had to be careful not to hit each other. After my mods, we are far apart now that hitting each other is no longer an issue. The only issue I had with it was a crack in the weld on the bottom of the transom. I had a welder fix it and reinforce the crud out of the entire weld to be safe. For the price, it is not a bad little jon.
  6. Good point. I was hoping I would find one on ebay or some side site for a few bucks. I figured with how cheap they are, probably not much luck in finding a new one but hey you never know right?
  7. Alright, driving back from the lake the other day, I somehow managed to lose the mounting bracket that came with my Eagle Cuda 168 (making me glad I keep the unit itself in my tackle box when I am not on the boat). I cannot find a replacement to save my life. I have googled and googled and googled, checked stores, and it seems aside from buying a new one or making my own, I cannot pick one of these up. The fish finder itself was lik $70 so I am not really sweating bullets over it but I am shocked I cannot find this stupid piece of plastic somewhere. Anyone know where I could pick something up cheap that would work?
  8. Hey Rhino, I hear ya. i think what really does this is the consideration of other boaters for each other. We all share the same natural resource and that is fine. However, my desire to have a good time on the lake should not override my reasonable consideration for yours. If I am tooling around Lake Wylie (I got a Jon so wake is n ot as big an issue), I will give pleasure boats and fishing boats wide berth. I do not want to get up on them, rock them with wake, or distract them too much. I have seen pleasure boaters and fisherman who will FLY up on me so close I would stand reasonable chance of jumping onto their boats. Lake Wylie is a pretty big lake there is NO reason folks should be that close. The pleasure boaters seem to be worse at this, especially wave runners. However, I have also seen my share of canoes and such who are really inconsiderate. That will run in the middle of a channel in the middle of the night without lights of any kind, who will run over your lines while you are fishing a cove because they can. As for their effect on fishing, I have actually had days where I have been not getting a hit then had a big wake hit me on my retrieve and get hit that second. Whatever action it added to my bait seemed to cause a hit. With the depth and width in most places on Wylie, I would not think in its case that boat traffic influence too much.
  9. On being off the bank. I hear ya. I would have taken 2 old oil drums nailed together to get off the bank. LOL. For portable fish finders, I have the bottom of the line Eagle Cuda 168. Been using it for a year and it has been an absolute game changer. You do not get a high resolution view of things but you do get a good idea what is down below you and that alone has helped me find spots I never would have otherwise. It is about the cheapest I have seen out there but at the time, was all I could afford and majorly beat the heck out of having nothing at all.
  10. Saw this on the pond where my mother lives in the NC mountains this year too. Wierd. The second round has already hatched though. Was shocked to start seeing the little ones AGAIN last time I was up there.
  11. That is awesome man. I would have expected it to end the other way around. I have seen some retarded law suits win folks some serious money. It is great that your grandfather won out.
  12. Fifth Element. Any show that puts Zeus in as president of the world you just cannot take seriously. As long as you turn of your brain and just enjoy the action . You are fine.
  13. I'd be split on this one. I would think it depends on the person. I invite my grandfather and/or friend many times. Sometimes we take my boat sometimes theirs. Our standing rule is, if they got the gas, the other guys gets everything else (food, bait, etc). We bot got smaller boats so Gas is like 6 gallons at best. We do NOT touch another mans rod or tackle without asking. That being said, on a couple trips I have invited some noobs out. In those cases, I will explicitly tell them what they need to bring with them and cut them some slack on stuff they forget. This guys though sounds like a <insert name here> though. You agreed on splitting gas, and other expenses and he just skimped out. Sorry, but that is just rude. Especially the gas part. If you are in a vehicle that has a loud motor, it probably runs on some type of gas. You would know gas is not free. Even if you know nothing more about fishing/boating you know that. That being said, now that you got a good rant out of your system, I would go with grimlin, chalk it up as a bad experience, go out by yourself once or twice or a dozen times and get it out of your head.
  14. Anyone see this article? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31853449/ns/local_news-new_york_ny/?GT1=43001 The kid is txting and walks right into an open manhole cover. Her parents are going to sue the city. I am a bit torn. While I think the workers should have had this manhole marked with a cone or something, i have to wonder. What if trips over a curb, goes walking out into busy traffic, walks into a building? At what point does personal responsibility pick up? I am luckily spared for now in my oldest daughter is 7, I have a few years (at the earliest) before I will allow them to have a phone. I would like to think though, that put in the same position, I would count myself lucky she was not more seriously hurt and take her txt plan away, or block txt capability on her phone.

My thoughts exactly. The only thing worse than the original raving psycho is usually the guy or guys who replace him. I remember the show they did on Saddams sons. Those two sounded l like they ate kittens and orphans for breakfast. Seems psychos are like fish, there is always a bigger fish, there is always a worse raving psycho. The next guy will have something prove though and will have to exorcise Kim's ghost with some crazy actions of his own.
  16. Well, if ya ever decide for a road trip to the Charlotte area let me know. I would be glad to meet up with ya for a trip onto Wylie. There is a ton to do in the Carolinas. Fishing or otherwise, what type of stuff you into? Outdoors? Indoors?
  17. Anything within launch distance from one of the Catawba rivers is great as well. Do a google on "Duke power Lake Wylie access" you should find their page that lets you link to all the lakes on that chain. When you get bored of that we have got a ton of awesome trout streams in the mountains. I fish Wylie and I have gotten a ton of Bass out of it this year.
  18. I think I remember that highly technical term on one of the MCSE exams. LOL! Yeah, whenever I get dismayed at coding I take solace in unlike networking, I can tear apart just about any code and fix it. With networking you can still be a major slave to the hardware/firmware, or some jughead plugging a line into the wrong socket.
  19. Glad you settled this Glenn. When I was in High School I worked at a local McDs. I had a manager who was the mother of a girl I dated start spreading all sort of stuff about me. How I stole from my store, beat her daughter, etc. Just nasty, unbelievably nasty stuff. I never in my life heard of someone just making crap up like this before. Some folks believed it. However, the managers at my store, had her immediately fired when she told them the story. They came to me to tell me what they heard. They knew me and knew she was making stuff up. What I learned from that was the people who matter, who really matter, know you they know a steaming pile of BS when they hear it. If there is any question whether it is BS or not they will come to YOU and ask you. Folks who just believe stuff like that, IMO, aren't worth the time and effort it would take to go about setting them straight. If anything the exercise showed me when push comes to shove, who I could trust and who I couldn't.
  20. I am absolutely dieing here. I love getting my dad like that! lol. Course I can easily outrun him too. I agree though, payback is gonna be a ..... He is gonna get you good for that one.

Yeah, in a "I eat kittens" kind of way. LOL!!

Probably not a lot of Goth anglers but I bet Goth scene is paying some good cash for their spot and I to be honest, i have seen a lot worse ads online than that.
  23. They are a native species so to me, they are just part of the game. An added challenge if you will. They are fun as heck to catch though. They are nowhere near slow. I have actually had one jump over the entire rear quarter of my boat. Thing was like a missile. Came out of nowhere. i really would not advocate just killing them for the sake of killing them. They are part of the natural ecosystem.
  24. LOL, LIFETIME Channel nice!? It seems every one of those shows I have ever seen on playing on there or any of the ads is someone being raped, beaten, divorced, etc. Do they actually play happy shows on that channel?
  25. Thanks for the summary Glenn. I get a million of these types of emails a day and usually when you look them up, they tend to not be as bad. I would also find it VERY unlikely that if passed this bill would not get past the first court challenge to its constitutionality. The only way they will ever effectively ban guns it to amend the constitution and they have to get US to vote on that. Good luck there.
