  1. The 6'9" casting model is 5.1 oz, the MBR783C GLX2000 weighs in at 4.8 oz. I would hardly consider that a great difference in weights.
  2. I have the 6'9" ML. I like it for Flick Shakin and other finesse duties. Sensitive and power but a tiny bit tip heavy.
  3. UPS dropped off my fifth Vendetta, the heavy flippin stick earlier in the day. The Vendettas are great rods but they are no Cumuli?
  4. Definitely worth the extra $$$
  5. Equipment: 6'9" medium light action, extra fast taper, 8 lb flouro either no weight wacky or with jackall head. sometimes I will hook the bait all the way through then turn it around and bring the hook through again. impart very little action, the whole object is a natural flutter. I've been using Flick Shakes for about 5 years now and went through a couple different set ups to find the right one.
  6. I was actually going to say the same thing about the SX with the addition that it's eco-friendly in that it builds it's own bird habitats with one small flick of the wrist. But those Shimano plastic reels won't ever decompose
  7. ask and ye shall receive ...
  8. The Curado also makes a wonderful paperweight or doorstop, just sayin' :
  9. Pflueger Patriarch XTLP $450.00 MSRP
  10. and the split spool shaft ...
  11. Ha! 'Was thinking the same thing. Ha! Ha! I wouldn't pay a dime for any pro's tackle.
  12. Yup. I think it's going on until 09/01/10 or until supplies last. Nice glasses.
  13. He's not the only guy with the JDM background who likes the Revo Premier. I used 4 TD Itos and with a couple of JDM Steez 103s for good measure. The 2009 Premier was an exceptional reel. The 2010, leaves it in the dust. Honestly, there are few reels in the under $300.00 ball park that could touch it and few over that price range could compete.
  14. The 24 lb drag was never available on the Premier. It had the typical Shimano, Daiwa standard of about 10 lbs.
  15. I've got 22 lb test PE with the diameter of 1.5 lb test on one of my spinning reel spools and another with 15 lb test with the diameter of 1 lb test. Carry that out to 50 lb test with the diameter of 4 lb test and you don't need a spool that's very deep.
  16. I started with the Vendettas as an alternative to bringing high $$$ rods to tournaments and to fill in spots in my arsenal. For example, I don't toss deep cranks very often, I'm not going to drop a ton of money on a rod to do it. Based upon previous experience with NICE Abu rods and what else was available, it was a no brainer.
  17. One thing to remember, these rods are following up Steez, Evergreen and Megabass rods. Not an easy task.
  18. I'm using the 6'6" medium Veritas. Excellent for shallow cranks. :'( If I had your hands....I'd cut mine off Can I see pics, just one more time please :'( Yeah, sometime this weekend.
  19. I'm using the 6'6" medium Veritas. Excellent for shallow cranks.
  20. ain't that the truth brother ...
  21. Yesterday, I picked up the first fish on the 3rd Vendetta rod in my arsenal, the VTC69-6, a medium-heavy, fast taper rod. I had pitched a jig with a Sweet Beaver trailer into a patch of lily pads when an 18" pickerel attacked it immediately. It was nothing but my reflex, the rod's response and a the Revo STX 7.1 retrieve ratio and it was the machine. I'd been searching for this kind of combination for quite some time; light enough for a day's worth of pitchin', limber enough to skip jigs smoothly, sensitive enough to feel what's going on and powerful enough to set the hook deeply. As mentioned above, I have several other Vendetta rods, the 6'9" drop shot spinning, the 6'3" casting and the 7' crankin' rod. The drop shot rod is very sensitive. I've used it with baits down to weightless Flick Shakes and Super Crosstails with 1/32 nail weights. It's got the power to control a fish, as well. The 6'3" casting is working extremely well as a topwater rod with Pop-X up to Giant Dog X. I'm waiting for the opportunity to pick up some fish on the 7' crankbait rod. You can feel deep diving crankbaits very well, it's still a bit early around here for optimum conditions.
  22. I started to use the Owner ST-36s when the factory hooks on my baits get worn. O.S.P and Imakatsu come from the factory with excellent hooks.
  23. About 20 years ago I bought one of those all in one kits for injection molding worms. Hot worm plastic on the back of your hand is not fun. Ended that real quick.
