Favorite Star Wars Film?
It's definitely not a horror movie, but when I was a little kid, back in the 1940s, A Christmas Carol scared the daylights out of me. The scariest part was when Scrooge was visited by the ghost of his late partner, Marley. The moaning, groaning, and rattling of the chains gave me nightmares for weeks.

Favorite Horror Movie
The Abominable Doctor Phibes, starring Vincent Price, or, if it's classified as a horror movie, Big Trouble in Little China with Kurt Russell.

Tailer Registration
Some states do not require a boat trailer to be registered. But for those of you who do register your trailers, where do you keep your registration? I used to keep mine with my truck registration and other pertinent documents in the glove box of my truck. I just renewed my registration and got to thinking. Why not keep it in the boat with my boat registration and other boat related papers? Doing that, means the registration will always be with the trailer, except, when the boat is on the water. If for any reason, you tow the boat with another vehicle, you'll still have the trailer's registration papers with you.

Bass Pro Shops Vs. Walmart
It's getting to be that time of the year. I hope TW has their annual Christmas sale on gift cards. Ten percent off. You can get a hundred dollar gift card for ninety bucks. Their customer service is excellent, and if you want your order quickly, you have options. Five dollars for two day shipping, ten dollars for one day. That depends on when they get your order. If you order late in the day, it won't get shipped until the next day, so you have to add a day to the quick delivery options. If you buy stuff on sale, using your discounted gift card you get a heck of a deal. I like BPS, but not their prices. It's an hour's ride, so it takes about six gallons of gas, round trip. That is currently twelve dollars. More expensive than the ten dollar one day shipping, not to mention the savings on the order. When my wife goes to the outlet mall we pass within five miles of the BPS. If I need something, I may make the side trip to pick up the fishing gloves, or a hat with the side curtains. Maybe some two cycle oil for the bass boat. It's a nice place to stroll around and take in all the sights and new items.

Do I Need A New Prop, Fix This One, Or Is It Fine?
A four blade prop is smoother than a three blade. It might not be as noticeable on an outboard, but it sure was on my 38 foot lobster boat. The reason is simple. With a three blade, during rotation, there are times when there are two blades on one side of the skeg and then it switches to two blades on the opposite side of the skeg. It will not be as noticeable on smaller props but when you get to relatively slow turning 30 inch props harmonics become a factor. At certain speeds, the boat would shimmy at the stern. When I switched to a four blade prop, the difference was dramatic. No more shimmy. It was amazing how quiet it was as well. The old three blade, which was refurbished every year, created a rumble in the boat. The four blade put an end to that as well.

Ultraskiff - Has Anyone Heard Of/ Seen/ Used This?!
There is another thread about the same "skiff". Goes back two or three weeks if I'm not mistaken. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/163334-check-this-thing-out/

What Boat Is It?
- Teach Me To Fish
Welcome, and one piece of advice. Do not set unrealistic expectations. Fishing is about having fun and those "expectations" will take the fun out of it. If you are happy with a cane pole, some string, a bobber, a hook, and some worms, that's great. The bait monkey won't like you, that's for sure. The real beauty about fishing is that we can all do it our way.- Does This Make You Mad?
You want to complain about something? Try this. You are a commercial lobsterman. It's late August, early September. You have 700 lobster traps (35 twenty pot trawls) set in 22 - 26 fathoms of water 30 miles south south west of your home port of Westport, Massachusetts. You are catching over five pounds per pot worth 3.25 per pound. You get to your gear and find that a dragger or a scalloper has towed through your gear, in spite of it being properly marked with a polyform ball and a high flyer with a radar reflector on the mast on each end. In all, you have lost about 200 traps at a cost of close to sixty dollars for each trap in the water. That includes the traps, the line, and the terminal gear. We caught over 2500 pounds of lobster from the remaining five hundred traps. The missing traps would have netted us another thousand pounds of lobster. So I not only lost the gear, but I also lost what those traps would have caught. Not an insignificant number considering that we didn't start bringing the gear home until the middle of October. It is part of the lobstering game, and if you cannot deal with it, you better do something else.- Hey Raider
I've had neither, but I understand that a gallon of muscatel is cheaper than a gallon of gasoline.- Hey Raider
Bourbon? Don't you mean muscatel?- Favorite Star Wars Film?
Yeah, but the ewoks were more than offset by Princess Leia in Jabba's craft.- Does This Make You Mad?
Look at it this way. No matter what you do for fun, there will always be someone around to muck it up. For fishermen, it's jet skiers, water skiers, party barges that pass close by, litterbugs, you name it. Golf? You have to put up with the same type of people who are not courteous to others, or the course. They don't replace divots, or fill them depending on the course's policy. They don't repair their ball marks on the putting green. They toss their cigarette butts on the ground. The list is endless. In most cases, there is nothing you can do about it, so you need to learn to ignore it, or accept it. If you can't, you'll end up being miserable doing something intended to be fun. Hunting? I don't, but I'm sure there are basic rules of etiquette. Some of the ponds I fish also have hunters who set up blinds, and I see fishermen who will fish, or pass close to their blinds when there are plenty of other areas they could fish and allow the hunters to share the same resource for a season. Relax, lighten up, and you'll get more enjoyment out of your fishing.- Trailer Lights Problem
Here's the fuse panel diagram for a 2003 F-150 pickup. It shows your trailer fuses and relays. It's in the engine compartment of your truck.- Trailer Lights Problem
The fuse panel is not on the boat. It's in your tow vehicle. Look in your owner's manual. If you don't have an owners manual do a search for "fuse panel (year, make and model of your vehicle)" Most are under the hood, but some may be behind a panel on or under the dashboard of your car/truck. You may have a fuse panel for your boat but it won't have anything to do with the trailer.- Trailer Lights Problem
One more thought. If the fuse is blown, you may have created a short when you worked on the wiring.- My Ranger Is Taking On Water, Why?

I love 3M 5200. It cannot be beat. But, I do not recommend using it on thru-hull fittings, among other places. Once it sets, and has a good bond, it can only be removed mechanically, by cutting, grinding or some other destructive method. It's like the stuff is welded. Don't put it on anything that may need to be taken apart down the road.- Trailer Lights Problem
Here's a fuse panel diagram for a 2008 GMC pickup truck. Numbers 3, 6, 10, and 24 are for the trailer exclusively, denoted by the TRLR. The #3 is for the trailer stop/left turn. Number 6 is for the trailer stop/right turn. Number 10 is for the backup lights or, for the trailer brake lockout system if the trailer is equipped with a surge type of brake. Number 24 is for the trailer parking lights, also called running lights, or whatever. I strongly suspect this is the fuse that is blown in your case. Check your owners manual for the fuse panel diagram(s). I had this problem a couple of years ago. I fussed with the wires, the contacts, and everything else I could think of. The lights on the truck worked fine. Then, for whatever reason, it popped into my mind that the wiring of the truck might have a dedicated system for the trailer, and, it did.- Trailer Lights Problem
You may have blown a fuse when working on that wire. Most vehicles are factory wired with vehicle lights and trailer lights on separate circuits. Check the fuse diagrams for your vehicle to find the trailer fuses. Dollars to donuts you'll find that the trailer tail light fuse is blown. The trailer's tail lights and other marker lights are on the same circuit if memory serves. Get a cheap circuit tester and test the plug on your tow vehicle. Turn on the lights only and see if you have power at the tail light plug. Ground one lead from the tester and use the probe on the plug. If you don't know which one is the for the tail lights put the probe in one at a time. If the tester does not light, or show voltage, depending on the type of tester on any of the circuits, it's a trailer fuse on the vehicle that has blown.- Favorite Star Wars Film?
I'll go with the original simply because it started the series. The plot really thickened with The Empire Strikes back ("Luke, I am your father"), but the first laid the foundation that the rest build on. From what I've seen, The Empire Strikes Back gets the critical acclaim as the best movie in the series.- My Ranger Is Taking On Water, Why?
Here's a hint for all through hull fittings. To make an absolute, lasting seal with silicone, put a quarter inch bead on the inside of the hull around the hole, and a quarter inch bead on the flange of the through hull fitting. Snug it down by hand until it starts to ooze out around the fitting. Do not tighten it more. Allow it to sit a day or two for the silicone to set up. Then you can tighten it to your heart's content. It will not/cannot ooze out. If you tighten it down with fresh silicone you'll squeeze it out and may not have a good seal. I learned that trick from a tech at a boat yard. I installed new lexan windows in my lobster boat. I put a good bead of silicone around the opening and screwed the windows tight, squeezing out most of the lexan. A year later the windows started to seep water when taking heavy spray running into the waves. I mentioned it to the tech and he told me the trick of not doing the final tightening until the silicone had set up. I ended up with a one sixteenth inch thick silicone gasket that could only be compressed, not force out around the edges. I kept the boat another ten years and never had a drop get past the silicone gasket.- Where Is The Best Place To Catch Salmon In Mass?
"The additional stocking is possible because a record number of Atlantic salmon returned to the Merrimack River last spring. More than 400 returning adult salmon were captured at the Lawrence, Mass., Fishway in 2011 (the previous modern-day record was 332 returning salmon in 1991). This success meant that fisheries biologists at the federal fish hatchery in Nashua had more broodstock salmon than they needed to produce the one million salmon fry that will be released in New Hampshire next spring as part of the Anadromous Fish Restoration Program." The above is an excerpt from the link below. It sure looks like a good place to start your search. http://www.onthewater.com/atlantic-salmon-in-the-merrimack/ - Teach Me To Fish
