Dear Raider 2
That's a trick answer. The Superbowl has already been played this year. That makes it impossible for them to win the Superbowl this year, but no less impossible for them to win it in the foreseeable future. Now, on to more serious matters (the Raiders winning the superbowl is a fantasy that exists only in your mind), if a brother and sister get married in (fill in the state), can she keep her maiden name?

It Was Worth A Shot
Sounds like the honeymoon is over before the wedding. C'mon man, telling us that you are a diehard Raiders fan is one thing, but your fiancé'? And to think, you once had a "Dear Raider" thread on this forum. At least I seem to recall that. Is it a hallucination? Going on the assumption that you indeed did start a Dear Raider thread or service, who would take advice from someone who bleeds silver and black? The line between fantasy and reality gets more blurred with the passing years, so I could be wrong. p.s. If you didn't have a Dear Raider thread, you should have. Or maybe a reprise of the book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People".

Baby Back Ribs Rip Off
Sure, and it's been going on for years. Dial soap is one of my pet peeves. Once upon a time, it bulged out on all the surfaces. Now the two largest surfaces are concave. Not only are they hollowed, but on one side it is hollowed out lengthwise and on the other, the hollow runs across the bar. This results in a bar of soap that is less than a half inch thick, probably not much more than a quarter inch thick in the middle. But I get my satisfaction by throwing away none of it. When it gets too small to use comfortably, the used bar fits nicely into the lengthwise groove. When I break out a new bar of soap, after its first use, I place the remains of the prior bar into said groove. When the water evaporates the old and new bar are nicely fused together. Coffee? Used to be a pound in a can. Now it's less. The same with orange juice and other juices in the waxed containers. They are no longer a half gallon. What used to be a five pound bag of sugar is now four pounds. It doesn't anger me that they do this foolishness rather than just raising the price. It's that they insult our intelligence by these clever manipulations and not expecting us to notice. I'm sure some of these have been mentioned but I replied after reading the original post. Sorry for any duplications.

What Do You Do When You Can't Buy A Bite?
A picture is worth a thousand words.

Boat Scratch Or Scuff
Looks like a scuff to me, with the color from what came into contact with the boat deposited on your hull. First, try cleaning off the dark matter with isopropyl alcohol. If that doesn't clean it off, try acetone. A little will go a long way. To minimize the "scuffs" start with a mild buffing compound. If you don't have a buffer, get a wool bonnet for a drill, and set it to a slow speed. A spray bottle with water will also be handy. Put a little buffing compound on a small area of the scuff, using a soft cloth. Then buff only a small area. When it dries, mist the area with water from the spray bottle. It will serve as a lubricant, and will "reactivate" any buffing compound on the bonnet. From the photo, it appears that the scuffs are not deep. If you can get the small area to satisfy you, then move on to the rest of the scuff. When you are satisfied, finish the job using a cleaner glaze that is available in any good auto parts store, or in the automotive section of Walmart. After that, apply a wax that has ultraviolet inhibitors to protect the hull's surface from the sun.

What Do You Do When You Can't Buy A Bite?
- High Pain Threshhold
Sounds like a couple of things. First is, you are just a tough old buzzard who plays through the pain, or second, it is the old saying, "No sense, no feeling." Or, it could be a combination of both. Take care of yourself so you can get back to doing the things you enjoy without having to struggle to do them.- Are Yeti Coolers Worth The Money?
Yoda, is that you?- Brush Hogs Vs Rage Craw
Watermelon with red flakes, bama craw, and green pumpkin with purple and gold flakes. Keep in mind that no bite stays hot forever. Fish go through feeding cycles that I don't begin to understand. There are times when they'll hit a clothespin with a treble hook, and times when they'll turn up their nose at everything known to man. Change your bait. Change your presentation. Fishing is a puzzle. The more you practice, the better you get at solving the riddle. Keep in mind, there will be days when there is no "solution". Don't ignore those hunches that circulate in your head. That thing between your ears is a computer that is constantly calculating and processing information it has absorbed over your lifetime.- I'm Mean

Well, that ruins things for me. I was going to have you tell him that I'd buy one as long as the price was accurate. Heck, if we bought two, we might qualify for a discount.- Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Great Herring, fugedabout it. We spent three hours and caught a couple of decent bass and a few runts, but not enough to hold our interest. Off to another, and it turned out to be a good move. We caught several bass, the largest being four plus pounds. They came in all sizes and shapes. The bait of preference was the Lunker City Grubster and swimming ribster in clear water and silver flash coloring. They must look like herring to the bass because they showed little to no interest in many other proven baits. The path home was quite eventful. After leaving the last pond we headed home and the transmission locked in one forward gear. Reverse worked, but only one forward gear. Still under warrantee so I called for roadside assistance, and told them I was towing a boat with the truck. They made arrangements to get the truck to the nearest Chevy dealer which GM paid for, but I'd have to pay for the towing of the boat. Less than an hour later a ramp truck showed up. Loaded the truck on the bed, affixed a ball to the crossmember that can also be used to tow a second car. That tow cost me a c note. Called home and my wife headed to the dealership in Hyannis and our older daughter's boyfriend showed up with his pickup and towed the boat home for me. Everyone got home eventually, but it was not the itinerary I had planned for the day. However, my faith in humanity went up a few notches. While the tow truck guy was loading the truck, three people offered to tow my truck to my home, until I told them it was about an hour's drive. Nonetheless, it was refreshing to know there are some people out there with kind hearts. I will get my truck back by next Monday at the latest, depending on what they find when they hook up all the electronic testing gizmos to the unit. I'm betting that the repair will be to replace the tranny with a remanufactured piece.- Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Took my nephew from Florida out on Sawdy for a morning's fishing. He caught 22 bass on a Rage Tail Craw, watermelon red (is there any other color?) flake. It was rigged weightless on an Owner Twist Lock, 5/0 hook. I don't know how he did it, but he never once got hung up in the rocky bottom. Fish averaged close to two pounds per. Meanwhile, I caught fifteen on a variety of baits, and got hung in the rocks about fifteen times, maybe more. Dark and early tomorrow morning I'm taking him to Great Herring in Plymouth with the bass boat. I think he'll like it better than the canoe. Now, if only the fishing is as good. After that, the next outing will be to a pond with plenty of lily pads, maybe Santuit on the Cape. He's around 'til next Monday, so he'll get a good taste of the local fishing around here.- 98 9.9 Johnson Problems
About the fuel, was it last year's gas, or fresh fuel? If last year's, was it treated with Stabil, Startron, or some type of fuel stabilizer prior to storage, or better yet, when you last got fuel? I have a lawn edger with a Briggs and Stratton engine. It will not run on last years fuel. It will not start, period, until the fuel tank is emptied and filled with fresh fuel. Once it has new gasoline, it will start with one pull. All the other equipment, lawn mowers, generator, weed whacker, chain saw, etc., will start on last years gas. I now treat all the gasoline I buy for all the power equipment including my boat with stabil. I put the recommended amount of fuel treatment in all the fuel containers and the boat when I fill them. No more problems. Old fuel can cause all sorts of problems. Not starting, not running properly, gumming up carburetors, injectors, fuel lines are but a few of the symptoms of bad fuel.- You Have To Admit This Makes Logical Sense.
I think it's the other way around. In kg, this bass showed up as 3.89 kg.- When To Get A Riding Mower
Do you get a lot of snow? Do you have to shovel walkways and a driveway? If so, get a riding mower that will accommodate a snow blower. You'll appreciate it more for dealing with snow than for mowing the lawn.- Nitro Z-9 250 Xs Ride Questions
In a chop, try trimming the bow down. That way, the V at the forefoot of the keel will slice through the waves. If the bow is carried too high, the boat will ride on the bottom toward the stern and will tend to slap and pound. Quartering the waves as mentioned above is a good option. So, if you are driving the boat make sure your husbands side is into the oncoming waves. You'll have a smoother, and, dryer ride. You'll have to try various settings to see how it affects the ride and handling. With practice, making trim and speed adjustments will become second nature. Always exercise caution. Do not push it beyond your ability to safely control the boat.- You Have To Admit This Makes Logical Sense.
Jig head weights must drive you crazy. 1/16th ounce, 3/32nd ounce, 1/8th ounce, etc. And hooks. A 2/0 hook is larger than a 1/0, but a #1 hook is larger than a #2. I hear where you're coming from. Back in the day when I started turning wrenches just because I like taking things apart to see what made them tick, I don't recall anything being metric. I could look at a bolt or nut and tell if it was 5/8, 11/16 or 3/4. Then you'd get into the ignition sets where they were in 1/32 inch increments. Since when has the human race been accused of being logical? "We drive on parkways, and park on driveways. Ships carry cargo, trucks carry shipments." Gallagher Let's not talk about drill sizes.- You Have To Admit This Makes Logical Sense.
Who told you that? Must have been part of your initiation.- You Have To Admit This Makes Logical Sense.
I have and have used both. I find no difference in the ease of use. For me, a 1/2" combination wrench on a half inch bolt/nut works the same as a 15mm combo wrench on a 15mm bolt/nut. It's nice to have both. If you have a rusted metric nut or bolt that cannot be gripped tightly by a metric wrench, I've found that a SAE wrench will often do the job. The converse is also true.- I'm Mean
There is a saying about the "board of education". Discipline, when the board of education meets the seat of higher learning.- You Have To Admit This Makes Logical Sense.
I think most digital scales will read in lbs, or kg. In which case, your 5187.9 gram fish would show up as 5.1879 kg. Rounded off it would be 5.2 kg. Are you certain you want to switch to metric for weighing your fish? I didn't realize that my digital scale read either or. The first fish I weighed was not close to what I guessed it would weigh. Took a close look at the readout and saw it was in KG.- Powerpole Or Depth Finder
It's a no brainer. A good sounder will do more for you than a powerpole, unless.........................you only fish waters you know like the back of your hand, and you spend most of your time fishing shallow.- Top 10 Best Casting Reels
Okay, it's time for me to once again raise the issue of the Ron Popeil Pocket Fisherman. How did it miss the list? It's the only casting reel with a built in rod. Or is it the other way around. And it comes with the line and carries baits in the handle. I mean, c'mon now Amazon. Get with it. - High Pain Threshhold
