Home Made Pond Boat???
Do an internet search on "plywood pram plans". You should find something that will work for you. You will find some that can be made from one sheet of plywood, but they would be too tiny and unstable.

I Fogot To Put Sta-Bil In My Gas Tank!!!
Not sure if it is too late, but I, and many others, add Stabil, or something similar every time we add fuel to the tank. Today's fuels begin to degrade rapidly, if left on their own. Adding the recommended amount at every fill up is cheap insurance. I'm not sure how well any of the fuel additives mix with the fuel when they are poured in on top of the fuel. It works fine during the season because the fuel sloshes around in the tank whether the boat is being hauled over the road, or being run on the water. I add it to the fuel for the lawn mowers, trimmers, edger, and all other gas powered tools. Most will start fine, even if the fuel has sat in the tanks over the winter. But, the lawn edger will absolutely not run, or even give a poof with fuel three or four months old. Had to drain the tank and add fresh gasoline. Then it started right up. Since I started treating the fuel, the edger will start right up in the spring on "old" fuel.

Anyone Here Daily Drive A Dually?
Nix the carpet. GM now offers, and it may be standard on the Denali, a spray on bed liner, that matches the body color. I've seen a couple and really like what I've seen. It covers the entire interior of the bed up to the rails. Durable, and nearly impossible to scratch. And, if you want, you can install your carpet over that. The thing I don't like about fitted carpet or mats is that for me, they collect a lot of junk around, and under the edges. It depends on how you use your truck and what you carry.

No problem here. The unit went in the alcove on the left side of the photo. The plans called for built in ovens, but they were not in our budget when we built the house. So, forty some years later they are in place.- So Do We Have Any Members Here That Are Against Vaccinations For Their Kids?
Yes, to all but the tetanus. They are good for ten years, but I do get a booster at around seven years. But to make up for that, you can add the urologist to the list for me, and the dentist. The dentist is as important as any others on the list. Tooth infections can damage heart valves.- So Do We Have Any Members Here That Are Against Vaccinations For Their Kids?
Make that preventable illnesses. But, while I agree with you that it would be nice to have a cure for idiocy, one of the freedoms that we enjoy is the right, or liberty to be idiots. For example, I happen to think that those who enjoy free climbing of sheer rocky cliffs to be "idiots", I celebrate their right to pursue those activities which put their lives at stake. If I climb more than a few steps on a ladder I get a nosebleed. I don't like heights. I can get used to it when working on our home, but it takes a while. When I put up pump jacks, I must have a solid platform, and sturdy outer rails so I can't tumble backward off the staging planks.- Fishing Rhino Better Take Cover
The Rhino is ready for anything Mother Nature throws at us in the way of snow. We have a generator that can be on line in a few minutes. While it does not have enough capacity to run everything in the house, we do have water, heat, power for the refrigerator, lights in most of the rooms. We have televisions that are on the powered circuits. The light over the kitchen table is not on a powered circuit so we leave that turned on. When service is restored the light goes on, and we can flip the switches that are from the generator back to the power from the electric company. The lawn tractor with the 44" snow blower on the front is parked facing the garage door, which is on one of the generator circuits. The driveway and mailbox is cleared in minutes. Snow is blown to the side, off the driveway. When I get to the road, I direct the discharge forward which throws it across the street, leaving none of "our snow" in the road. The machine will throw the snow nearly thirty feet, so there are no piles of snow on the edges of the driveway. My past five trucks have had plows mounted on them, but the snow blower is superior to them for cleaning the driveway, not to mention that it can also plow walkways, something impossible with a plow. Weird, but this Rhino doesn't mind the cold or the snow, nor do I get cabin fever. The off season gives me the opportunity to get some major projects done around the house, while not interfering with my fishing during from late March into October. So far, my "projects" have included replacing the carpet in one of the bedrooms with a hardwood floor, and installing a double wall oven in the kitchen. That is something my wife has wanted for years. When the warm weather comes, my chores are mowing the lawn and tending the flower gardens with my wife. Those can be done between fishing days, or when I return in the afternoon. It has been an unusually snowy winter. Most seasons, the snow/rain line hovers around the coast, but this year, it has remained far enough south, so that we have had mostly snow with little rain to moderate the depth of snowfalls. However, thanks for thinking of me. The missus wants to get a generator that turns on automatically when the outside power goes off. She'll get no argument from me.- Weather..... I Hate You.....
All weather serves a useful purpose, even tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. They may impact us adversely, but that does not mean they serve no beneficial purpose in the overall scheme of things.- So Do We Have Any Members Here That Are Against Vaccinations For Their Kids?
Vaccinations being required are nothing new. A smallpox vaccination was a requirement in order to attend public schools when I was a kid. I'm 73, so that goes back a few decades. Smallpox was eradicated as a health problem as a result. I remember when Jonas Salk developed polio vaccine. It was a serious problem prior to that. Today, you rarely, if ever hear about polio. But, here's my thought. I believe vaccines are effective, and believe them to be in the best interest everyone. Having said that, if vaccines are effective, those who opt out of being vaccinated pose no threat to those who have been vaccinated. It's a case of "herd immunity".- Pulling New Wire In 2009 Ranger 520 Bass Boat!!!! Having Hard Time Pulling Wire ????
If it's a hang, electrical tape can be your best friend. If it is hanging on a snag, wrap electrical tape to make a taper at the snag, or step on the wire you are trying to pull through. That should allow it to deflect over and past any flange or high spot on the hull. Make the taper three to four inches long and you should be able to pull it through easily.- If We Could Only Have One Moderator...
Hey Raider, judges, committee chairmen, town meeting moderators, etc., all have gavels. But in this case, may I suggest the supermod have a ladle to maintain order?- Landscaping Help!!
To the best of my knowledge it is. http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_7691396_use-pigs-remove-stumps.html This is typical of the woodlands in this area. There are stonewalls that are in the middle of the woods, nowhere near any farm houses or buildings. Over the years, nature reclaimed those parcels of land that were not maintained. I scavenged the old stone walls on my in-law's farm to get the stones to build a fireplace in the home we were building in 1972.- Landscaping Help!!
Do it the way the old Yankee farmers used to. 1. Get some hogs. 2. Get some corn kernels or other grain. 3. Spread them around the trunks of the trees. 4. Poke some holes into the ground around the stumps. 5. Pour the corn kernels and/or grain into the holes. 6. Enjoy watching the hogs excavate the stump to get at the food. 7. Pile the stumps for burning, once they dry out. 8. Convert the fattened hogs to pork chops and bacon. It's a win win.- If We Could Only Have One Moderator...

Why Raider, it could only be you. The next choice would be a distant second. I hereby nominate you to be the moderator of the moderators.- Tow Vehicle Mpg
The short wheelbase is actually a plus. Much easier and quicker to maneuver. My friend pulls his 17' Triton with a Jeep (not the military type), and it has a much smaller turning radius than a standard pickup, even if the pickup has a short bed. If there is a down side it's that it takes a bit of getting used to when backing up. You need much less steering input than with a long wheelbase tow vehicle.- Favorite Movie Character?
Indiana Jones, Dr. Phibes- Boat Batteries?
Don't leave the battery charger(s) out of this equation. They have as much to do with the life of a battery as anything, other than neglect.- Tow Vehicle Mpg
2014 Silverado half ton, 5.3. Average on trips better than 20 mpg. Towing my Z-8, 13 - 14 depending on the terrain. Interesting, the new truck averages three to four mpg better than my 07 without the boat in tow. With the boat, that drops to only one mpg better with the new truck. That's driving long hauls at or slightly above the posted speed limits on the 1200 mile trip from Massachusetts to Tennessee, Kentucky, or Alabama for the Road Trips. Those runs included all types of roadways from fairly flat to hilly and mountain terrain. How you drive, and a close second in importance is keeping all the tires inflated to recommended pressures, play a large role in mileage.- If You Could Eat A Fishing Lure - Which One Would You Eat?
