  1. Tungsten is expensive, but, I like it. It's smaller and definitely transmits the feel of the bottom better than lead.
  2. Glad to see tungsten in the arsenal. No lead in Mass except for spinnerbaits and the larger weights. Couldn't find images of the colors.
  3. And a good month. And a good sign, Scorpio. Until about a month after we were born.
  4. BPS gift cards from our kids. The wife and I don't do gifts. Our annual trek to Daytona for Speedweeks is our gift to each other.
  5. You like those smallmouth, don't you? Looking forward to seeing you again. The rest who are planning to be there get your registration forms to Long Mike. It only costs you the price of a stamp, or, you can fill out the form, copy and save the file, then attach it to an email to Long Mike. Can't be much easier than that. Those who graciously prepare meals for the rest of us need to know how much of the fixings to bring, from Ghoti and his kickoff soiree, to Alpster who provides a mean Cajun dinner, to RW who brings his own special blend of ground meats, for hamburger night, and others who have offered to prepare a meal for the rest of us.
  6. First it was the teachers and cops who looked like kids. Then it was doctors who looked like kids. Now, almost everybody looks like kids. Maybe my mirror is lying to me.
  7. Whenever I hear some old coot tell a youngster that growing old is a pain, I tell them, "It beats the alternative."
  8. I cannot read the article unless I subscribe to their online edition. I've reached my ten article monthly limit. Alas, I shall miss out.
  9. I know there is at least one on the forum older than me. Don't remember his name though. Dang that old age stuff.
  10. Nice picture. They look like weeping willows. We had that last year on a clump of birch trees. They were bent to the ground. One of them didn't straighten up, but I can walk under the top of the tree. It did recover some during the summer. Maybe next summer will take more of the bend out of it.
  11. Dinky is still wearing diapers. He switched from Pampers to Depends.
  12. Seventy-two, plus 41 days. I drove the 1,230 miles to the Road Trip last year in 23.5 hours, including three stops at rest areas to get some shuteye. I can still get around. No aches, no pains.
  13. Can we get a list of those who have submitted registrations?
  14. Or just rc torpedoes.
  15. Those heartaches are actually a good thing. Be thankful for them, for they are a reflection of what your dad and uncle meant to you. To have no feelings regarding their passing would be far worse. There is a saying, "You cannot miss what you did not have." Apparently you had quite a lot.
  16. I was going to give a hint that it was not Jacques Clouseau, but, he was a movie detective, not television. Oh, and that would be oui, oui. French for yes yes.
  17. What television detective drove a Peugot convertible?
  18. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to all.
  19. To me, it looks kind of clubby. A misstep and you've broken a rod, maybe more. Can't you carry three or four extra rods for the back, to the left of the left seat? A bungee cord where the rods rest against the carpet will hold them in place. The tips will be in the air, but they'll be out of the way, close to the side of the boat. Don't know how long bac-rac has been around, but here's a similar rod holder I made for my canoe in 2008.
