  1. The CHRONARCH will outcast the SX about 15 yards when it comes to lightweight baits about 1/4 oz and under. At about 5/16-3/8 oz the SX will close the gap to about 8 yards, and once it hits 1/2 oz they're about the same.
  2. Fishermen lie! It's what we do! Ok ok, so I didn't completely spool it, but I must admit that it casted much further than my SX today by an average of 10 yards. :-X
  3. So I finally got a chance to fish with the Chronarch D today for a couple hours...it is everything that I would hope for in a reel. It can cast 1/4 oz lures further and much easier than a Revo STX, and quite a distance further than the Curado E. The reel is exceptionally smooth, very powerful gearing, and very comfortable to fish with. I had the Chronarch D spooled up with 12# Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon, and a Revo SX spooled up with 10# P-Line Floroclear both mounted on a 6'8" Shimano Cumara MHXF rod. I can easily cast 15 yards further with the Chronarch D, EASILY. Depending on the weight of the lure...even farther. I have about 80 yards of line spooled up and casted a 3/8 oz jig head without a trailer and was able to spool out the whole reel...no joke. If you have the funds I highly recommend you grab this reel. If I had the money I would get all Chronarch D.
  4. Picked up a St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass, the teaser, today at BPS for $165.00 after discounts and matched it up with my new Chronarch D. Originally had planned to put it on a G2 Dobyns, but returned 2 of them because of cosmetic defects. What do you guys think? I'll fish it tomorrow rain or shine!
  5. I was just watching the Jared Lintner video on ***.com and he said he never uses a leader when fishing braid. I myself fished without for a while and then started tying on to see if it made a difference and so far I see none.
  6. I'm an Abu Garcia fan as well...my very first fishing combo is close to 20 years old and I still use it for trout fishing!
  7. Way to go toolpush! Now that's what I'm talking about!
  8. Well...if it comes to America, and I really hope it does...I"m buying one of these too :-X
  9. Stick with the same brand and get yourself an STX!
  10. Called up the local tackle shop and they said that the new Chronarch D was in so I dropped everything that I was doing at work and raced over to pick up a 100D7. $325 after tax later I'm still drooling over it. I must say that this is one solid feeling reel. It feels completely different as compared to the Curado E. And by different I mean that you can tell the difference in the materials that they used. The Curado E feels like a piece of plastic in your hands compared to this beast. I'll be taking it out tomorrow morning for a few practice casts to see how it goes. I'm pairing it up with a 6'8" Cumara M XF using 12# Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon.
  11. That's a great looking reel you got!
  12. Maybe I'm retarded, but I found this post HYSTERICAL. I actually squealed it was so funny.
  13. wow nice job! you can definitely tell the difference between a well serviced reel and one that hasn't been cleaned up :-x
  14. Oh man! I can't wait to get my hands on one! I already have all the money saved up for it, but I want to hold it in my hands before I pull the trigger!
  15. Hahaha, I wouldn't even worry about your purchase dude...once you catch a few fish on it you won't even remember how much you paid! I'm still waiting for Chronarch D and the Dobyns Extreme rods to come out! That's about $620+Tax PER SETUP! Totally worth all the money!
  16. I like to put some electrical tape on the spool to cover the holes and then use an Arbor knot. I kinda figure that the electrical tape causes a little bit of friction and holds the knot/line in place while I'm spooling line.
  17. 7'2" Shimano Cumara MH Fast or X-Fast I would go with that rod right there! I have my Revo SX paired up with a 6'8" MHXF for Senko and 1/2 oz jigs.
  18. I would go for the Cumara...I just like it more and it's easier to warranty because most stores carry quite a selection of them.
  19. I picked up a spool of 12# Trilene 100% Fluoro today at the Wal.
  20. As far as sensitivity and weight reduction...I don't think the difference is so great that it warrants extra money... BUT! I do feel that the split grip is more comfortable in my hand because of the taper towards the rod butt. I don't know about you guys, but when I begin making a fist there is less distance for my pinky to travel than my index finger :/
  21. It should have play. Don't worry about it.
  22. Thanks for that post Micro, very informative!
  23. Well, the line snapped a few times actually at the knot...I thought it might have been the hook so I used a different one and it still snapped... And it was right when I'm about to lip the fish...I already swing it just out of the water and SNAP! So sad...
  24. I used to use Sufix Elite for a long time, but then I had a Palomar knot break on me and I lost a really nice fish...I have discontinued use and went to P-Line
  25. how do you like that frog rod btw? thinking about picking up a couple mojo rods myself
