  6. I own both, more Shimano than Diawa, but still voted Diawa. All reels and manufacturers have a specific "place or situation" if you will In fishing. For the type of fishing I do I prefer Diawa Hard choice indeed

Marty, Just a question why is it that some of the lures have a squared off tail, and some have a tapered tail. Is there a method to your madness? Just curious-John
  9. Growing up we lived next to a farm with a big pond that was fed by a small creek. As young country kids do we were always consumed with the outdoors especially the creek that fed the pond. One day when my grandfather was over he decided to "play" with us to see just what inspired us to always come home covered in mud and soaked with water. When he saw us catching crawdads and garter snakes for fun he made a simple suggestion that we put a hook in them and cast them into the pond. WHAT A BRILLIANT IDEA! Although we had fished for panfish before, little did we know that there were some rather large Bass that called this pond home, and MAN DID THEY LIKE CRAWDADS! From that point on the attraction for fishing was set. Over the years......I have continued to pursue my attraction and offer it to my children as a gift that may do with what they like. Fishing to me is one of the best gifts I have been given, and still the best gift for me to give. -John

  17. What a dissapointment, In years past you could actually get a deal when you went to these shows. Now with the economy and all you even get less "goodies" when you walk around the vendors. I went with intentions on buying a rod and reel, and three of the Big name tackle stores that were there, were 10$ higher than there own internet price!!!! When I asked why; I was told by two of them that it must be a typo on the site. For example Diawa Tierra on net 129.95 at show 139.95 with a sign that said "marked down from 149.95 ,,,,,CAN YOU SAY SCAM!!! That's just one of many examples! Now did I enjoy going...YES Did I buy anything... NO Will I go back......Yes Will I stop my rant now ....YES
