Just an update. It was the speed coil in the motor. It took them 1/2 hour to get fixed at n/c. We're ready to fish again. woohoo Brute

Help with trolling motor
Hi guys. I have a motorguide trolling motor pro series w/46 lb thrust. It has the foot pedal with the dial for speeds 1-5. This weekend I lost speed #4. All of the other speeds work fine but I get nothing when on #4. It is still under warranty, but I was wondering if there might be an easy fix. Brute

opinion for 9 yo
89mj, I've got 2 of those exact combos on my boat ( along with a lot of other rigs) lol IMHO a good set up for the price. No complaints here.

Empty seat available on Lake Tarpon Saturday. Anyone interested
Hey Guys. I'm fishing on Lake Tarpon Saturday morning and the back of my boat is open. I have seen a few guys on here from around Tampa without boats. Thought I might give one of them a chance at fishing with me. I am no expert, but there are fish there and I have been catching a few. Let me know. Or some one with a boat looking to fish with me. How many days a week do you fish
Usually 2. Saturday and Sunday if the wife has nothing planned for us. If she does, then usually just Saturday. Man I wish I worked weekends and had the whole week off. I don't think I will ever tire from chasing fish.

Good weekend on Lake tarpon
Hey gar tracker. Every fish was caught on a worm. We threw them next to the tall grass and worked them slow back to the boat. Usually 10-15 feet off of the tall grass, there is some submerged grass( I think hydrilla) and that is where just about every bite came at. I keep trying topwaters in the morning and cranks and spinners off and on all day, but they really like the worms. the guys fishing the tournaments usually fish the offshore structure and catch larger fish, but we have had several decent sized ones right off the grass. My largest is about 5-5.5 lbs just a couple weeks ago. I didn't have a scale then but do now. My wife caught a 4lb 11oz one two weeks ago on the same worms I have been using. I have also had a couple large ones on and lost them, but that means they will still be there next time and I am ready to catch them again. I can't wait until I catch a larger one. i know there are some 10 plus pounders in there and eventually one of them will be paying me a visit in the boat. Believe me, you will hear about it when I do. Next time you feel like fishing there, let me know. I have an empty seat on the boat every now and then.

Had a good day Saturday
Thanks rondef. Yeah we have fun even if we aren't catching anything, but it is more fun when you are. I got a 5 - 5.5 lb one a couple of weeks ago that was my largest ever. I now have a scale and am waqiting for him to hit 6 so I can catch him again. My wife caught a 4lb 11oz one two weeks ago after I got my scale so i Know there are some big ones in there. Can't wait till this weekend for some more.

Had a good day Saturday
Hi guys. My brother and I went to lake Tarpon saturday and caught 18 bass in about 6 hrs. all of them on worms, but I keep trying other lures with little success. The largest was about 3.5 lbs. We had about 6 fish between 2 and 3 and quite a few small ones. Anybody else fish on lake Tarpon.

New guy sayin hi from Tampa
I have been fishing a lot on lake tarpon. My brother lives on the lake, so I kinda have a couple fishing partners. I got my boat in June and have been on the lake every weekend since. I got skunked the first time out, 1 small one the second time out, but now I am starting to figure it out. Two weeks ago went out for about 6 hours and put 8 LM on the boat(and then released) and my brother put 5 on the boat. We also missed a few others. I caught one that day that weighed about 5.5 lbs ( I bought my scale later that day so that is an estimate) but it was bigger than the one my wife caught. If I ever get this computer thing figured out I will try to post a picture or 2.

New guy sayin hi from Tampa
Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. Olebiker - Yes on the beer. It's like American Express ( Dont leave home without it). Roseangler - I don't think I can come up with the fish tales like some of these other guys, but I will tell you about last Sunday. I took my wife fishing with me for the third time. The first two times fishing she caught a couple of small ones and seemed to be going through the motions to please me. But on Sunday she caught a 4lb 11oz LM that put up a big fight and a bigger smile on her face. I think I have a new fishing partner for life now.
