My two go-to baits, lipless cranks and spinnerbaits. This gives both in one lure. I like it. I have seen where people remove the rear hook on lipless cranks but I just haven't had the confidence to do that since I catch alot on the rear hook, but I like this idea alot better. So much so that I put this together in about 30 seconds. Buzz

Marty, I got 2 of these off e-bay a while back. Don't know who made them, as they weren't signed. They had the same pattern so I decided to paint one. Here's a pic of the one I didn't paint.

Just some simple patterns all using same colors but each with its on twist. Buzz

Don't worry to much about the paint. It's going to get scratched and dinged loading and unloading, mooring, and fishing. Just touch it up once in a while with a spray can of olive drab paint. I'd worry more about your rods and reels getting scratched up from laying on the aluminum benches. You can carpet them to prevent that. I just kept my floor as low as possible and still be level, trust me you don't want or need a raised deck on this boat. Just pack a little lighter when you're not alone [ ie 3600 bag instead of 3700, 4 rods instead of 8, share a cooler]. Buzz

Welcome, I have a 1232 PolarKraft that I like very much, 1987 model so it is built really good but still light enough that 2 people can carry a pretty long distance with out killing yourself. It has a #30 TM and a 5 HP outboard, perfect river boat. 32" bottom width is the only drawback as far as stability, so no decks on mine just carpeted plywood floors that are removable if need be. I do stand and fish but only if I'm alone. Buzz

Well ya see there's this one nucklehead at my local lake that likes to blow by me at 75 mph disrupting my nice quiet day of catching. So if I time it right and cast this thing out at him... Seriously though I got several PMs asking if the firing caps are live. ;D ;D ;D No No No, I soaked them in water for 2 weeks before I pressed them in the cartridges. Buzz

Hole is all the way through bait, 1 shell inserted half way in on right side and 1 shell inserted half way in on left side meeting in the middle with a bearing knocking around on the inside. Buzz

Not tested yet, but it increased the weight from .47 oz to .81 oz so I'm sure it will change the action a bunch if it even still floats. ;D Just in case you're wondering, it looks the same on the other side. I used 2 cartridges cut short to fit and put in a steel bearing. Buzz

This is a Lee Sisson balsa crank that I added a rattle to, I left it exposed to show my handy work. It is usually done with .22 cal but I only had the 44's, so maybe bigger is better. It has a nice loud high pitched ping to it. Buzz

Thanks guys! GamecOcks, Just some old beat up Red Eyes that needed a new life. The dryer is a rotisserie motor, 3/8" wooden dowel and a couple of line spools that fit the 3/8" dowel. The spool on the right is mounted on dowel with screws and it has small bungee cords attached to it by drilling holes in side of spool, cutting one hook off bungee, slip through hole and tie a knot on back side. Spool on left will slide to allow you to put lure on and tighten to suspend lure ready for epoxy. A stop collar holds it where you want it. The wire you see on left came from a photo mobile already in that shape which also provides some tension to keep lure suspended. Plus it was full of alligator clips which come in handy. I put snap swivels on the wires to attach to lure and eye screws on spool that I slightly opened to hook wire onto. This bungee system works great on swimbaits also, just needs a straight wire or a barrel swivel on left side. I also put some clips to hold lipped baits on the other side of left spool. I can take the whole assembly out of box less motor for when I'm spraying. You could make this hold more baits by making the wheels out of wood any size you want. Ok so I was impatient.

This is what I put together with some recycled items. Cheap old cabinet, barbeque rotisserie motor and empty line spools for the turner. Plan on adding an exhaust fan leading into a box with a filter. Biggest problem is I can't paint and epoxy at the same time but I really don't paint that many anyway. Buzz

Michael's Crafts, Ben Franklin's, AC Moore and Hobby Lobby are some places I know. You can also get the clear that I use at any of these, which is Enviro-tex Lite. Hope this helps. Buzz

I have some TT's and some copies. They are made out of cedar and seem to almost suspend with a short pause. They do float back up, but very slowly. I have caught some 3-4 pounders in 45-50 degree water with them. That seems to be when they shine. Buzz

I have a M-flat that I bought off e-bay, very good quality and nice paint. Buzz
