  1. Thank you thank you!!!
  2. Swwweeeeet!!!
  3. Bottom bait needs another coat of clear but I just had to post it anyway. David
  4. I,m in central N.C. and since November the only thing I've caught anything on is flatsided coffin lipped cedar cranks in Char/Blue or Char/Brown. They get deep real quick and rise real slow, awesome coldwater bait. Also remember to slow down your retrieve in the winter. David
  5. Marty, you are constantly evolving, loving the eyes.
  6. The top one does look very nice! Great work.
  7. I have some I used late this fall and caught 2 fish not much bigger than the lure and 1 close to 4lb that kicked off right at the boat all with in 20 minutes one morning. I couldn't believe such small fish would try to eat this size bait. But I think they are a good size for the summer and fall when the shad in the lake are bigger. I also feel they are better in 10'+ because of the fast fall rate of the 3/4oz. JMO. David
  8. I would call that Sexy Bling Bling shad pattern. And i'm sure they have even more bling in person. Very nice. David
  9. Hello Shootermcbob, I would still fish the so-called defective one. It just might catch more fish since it doesn't sound like all the rest. Different is good sometimes. If you don't want it you can send it to me. Happy to hear SK treated you like they should. David
  10. Thanks for the comps. Eric, that craw was the hardest one yet, I leafed it with mixed gold, copper and varigated leaf crumbs, cleared it an then shot transparent red on top sides, flo-orange on throat, flo-yellow on belly and a burgandy mix on back. Can't wait to throw it this spring. Thanks, David

I love the four-eyed concept, I bet that gives the bass double vision. Awesome work as always Marty. David
  12. Thanks guys, That trap was chrome plated to begin with. I find the chrome ones easiest to strip down bare. No basecoat on the trap just the raw plastic color. Sam, Gammies of course! Thanks, David
  13. Heres a Bandit and a trap
  14. Hey Thad, That is green first then I mixed some blue mica hi-lite in some clear and shot over it. So it has a color shift from green to blue. The 3rd one also has blue hi-lite over black. Glad you like. David
  15. Here are some of my paint jobs on an awesome variety of Marty's baits. I've yet to get to his level of creativity or quality but man is it fun to paint cranks, almost as much as fishing them. Marty builds very high quality baits, but his generosity is by far his best quality. Hope ya'll like. David
  16. Thanks guys!!!
  17. drmnbig, That is the best compliment ever. Which one is on your desktop? David
  18. Well I'm upset, no more baits for me. :-[ :'(
  19. Oh no, I really didn't know if that was how Marty done it. I read about it on TU. Lots of info there. Sorry guys. David :'(
  20. Hey Cootertom, Go to sign shop and either have them cut you some in different colors and sizes or get some scrap vinyl from them and use hole punchers. You can get different size punchers at a craft or scrapbooking store. Hope this helps and sorry Marty and Eric if I gave it away. Also go to the TU website and search there. Lots of info on this subject there. David
  21. Eric, Yes they look pretty deep but no lifting or seperating is happening. Re-coating should fix it don't ya think? Should I be wiping these down with denatured alcohol or something else maybe? Thanks, David
  22. Thanks to everyone for the nice comments!!! David
  23. Hey Eric, Thanks for responding. Just looked at bottles and realized I was calling it E-tec when it is E-tex thanks for not really pointing that out. I did put 2 coats of E-tex on them. I added glitter to the first coat but not second. I'm asking about combatibility issues because I also have took some lures with cracks and teeth marks lightly sanded them and put 1 coat of E-tex on before painting and then 2 more coats. That first coat before paint really smoothes things up and the end result looks like a brand new lure. I hope there are no problems with this method because it works so good
  24. Hello, I recently coated 4 coffin bill tennessee killer style cranks with glitter in first coat and straight E-tec on second over top of the factory clear, sanded of course. All had cracks in finish to begin with but the E-tec seemed to fuse really well and these cracks disappeared. Problem is one of these has long cracks going the length of the bait after only a few outings and one 2 1/2 lb fish caught on it. Can't recall any errant casts causing any damage and haven't had to use plug knocker on it either. Could this be a combatibility issue with factory clear or did I possibly get a little to much hardener in the mix or maybe the flex of the long lexan bill since the epoxy overlaps on it a little? So far the other 3 are fine but they haven't been fished as much. Anybody else had this problem? Thanks, David
