  1. Does anyone know of any good pike lakes in northern IL and southern WI? I have never caught one >, and am looking to do so at some point this year. Thanks
  2. That fish sure looked a lot bigger in person. You ready for tomorrow buddy? Hopefully it'll be nuts out there.

  4. Well the best of luck to you guys. Go do battle with the bass
  5. I would try going to the warmer water, and start fishing heavy cover. Any trees, grass, weeds.
  6. Here are a couple of fish I caught today. It was perfect outside. Around 60 with a warm wind from the south. ;D Lovin' Life Catchin' Fish! Got my second walleye of the year. It was the last fish of the day. Well night really. It was a good day all in all.

  9. Here she is my 2 lb 12 oz.er
  10. Here she is. My biggest bass. STILL SMALL THOUGH :'( 2 lbs 12 oz
  11. I like using em as blue cat bait. Hook em through the back. They will swim more naturally, and will survive longer too.
  12. That must have been a helluva fight. Yeah that Mekong Giant Catfish. Love to hook one up!!!
  13. There are many lakes in Illinois with pure Stripers. Heidecke and LaSalle to name a couple. And I do believe that that would be a pure striper my friend. The only complete line on a hybrid is the one directly below the lateral line. That fish has many complete lines. And the ones that are broken are still very distinctive. One other way to tell is that a hybrid is going to have more of an arched back. A striper usually is pretty flat on the back. I got this info in an article from January 2009 Illinois Game and Fish.
  14. Finally uploaded my pics from thursday. Still don't have the one from yesterday.
  15. These were from Thursday. Just a couple of the many many fish I've caught this week. Tuesday and Wednesday were both to good a days to stop and take pictures ;D. Thursday slowed down so I took some time to take a couple pics. Both were under 2 lbs. Got em' on a Matzuo Shallow Crank.

  19. The title on the pic is pickerel. Is that a chain pickerel or a northern?
  20. For the second time already this year, I have caught the biggest bass in my life . For most of you guys it doesn't sound like much, but for the lake I got it out of it, is huge. 2 lb. 12 oz. I was kind of disappointed actually. When I pulled her out of the water I thought for sure she was a 3, 3 and a half pounder :'(. I caught a 2 lb 8 oz bass on Tuesday and this one was wayyyyyyyyyyy fatter. When I go to work on Monday I am going to calibrate the scale and see if it is off. Even though it is probably dead on just like it was 6 months ago when I checked it. Ill have a pic as soon as my buddy Swilly78 sends me the pic he took on his phone.
  21. Ive thought about getting one of those bows with the reel on it. Looks like a lot of fun.
  22. Thanks guys!! Your the best
  23. Says it for me..........snagging is as sporting as blowing them out of the water with m-80's or cherry bombs. Better to leave the cherry bombs at home and bring the dynamite. No, I'm not kidding. My guess is that you don't know a lot about the danger Asian Carp (Silver & Bighead) pose in the midwest....or have had one of your favorite lakes ruined (read: no more game fish) by an invasive species that reproduces at an alarming rate and eats half its sizable body weight in plankton each day. Here's hoping the electric barriers keep them out of the Great Lakes. You said it! They are destroying lakes everywhere here in Illinois. Snag em' Shoot em' Blow em' up. Who cares, just get rid of them.
  24. No No. That is one of the few and far between at Pat's Lake by my house . There was a guy fishing there who took the pic for me. The guy wanted the fish too >. I wouldnt let him have it though.
