  1. ABU GARCIA makes good quality reels through the whole price range (100-300$) where as with quantum , it either an inexpensive reel that sucks or an expensive reel that is good . seems they don't offer a good reel for budget minded people . just my opinion , by the way ..............
  2. Pencil Pusher wrote on Oct 25th, 2008, 2:15pm: You can substitute regular hybrid for baling wire, the ultra soft is more like leader wire. I think you're confused. The question is "Yo-Zuri Hybrid Lines", he wasn't asking about P-Line. (quote from ROAD WARRIOR) just teasing you !!!!!
  3. i cut my tag as close as i can , never have slippage problems . to bad you couldn't check the jig , sometimes the eyelet gets nicks , especially when the jig is dinged around on rocks and can cause the braid or any line for that matter to be cut . just something to think about , i check my jigs on each outing ,also my shakeyhead jigs and swimbait eyelets
  4. do you mean hi-vis , as in hi-vis yellow ? are you talking about something like stren glacier blue ?? or are you talking about saltwater flourescent line made to be seen from far off the boat ???? .......
  5. that looks about as weedless as a panther-martin frog ;D
  6. they smell bad like STORM soft bait (wild eye shad , etc. ) ......
  7. I know they work, that's why I bought it because a lot of people recommended it. Is it suppose to smell so plastic? have you tried CANYON PLASTICS 4.5'' frog , WAAAY better than the horny toad from zoom , give them a try !!! http://www.***.com/descpageFROGSCP-CPF.html#
  8. thanks , i got to stay away from reading the manufactures hype and listen to real experience , i guess like im doing now ;D
  9. Dude, if it didn 't hold up I wouldn 't use it. : easy there , i wasn't doubting you !! i was just amazed , that's all . thank you for another option to look at and try
  10. 17 lbs test XT. serious ? that line would hold up ??? wow
  11. Yeah, and if what you want is really strong why not a 2 inch dia rope ? The greatest numbers in my sb arsenal is formed by 2-4 oz baits, I fish them all with 17 lbs Trilene XT. what would YOU use for baits 5-8 oz. ??? thanks
  12. i hope you got it , that would be a steal if it was in good working condition ! i my self would be a litle leary unless i could open it up and see inside it and be able to cast it with a cast plug , you just never know what your getting , some times id rather pay a little more just so i know that im getting what im paying for . not all deals are good deals !!!!
  13. i appreciate your post but im talking about swimbaits and lines to use for them , where i fish are very big bass and are catchable on swimbaits .........
  14. ive been asking about wich line to use for chucking big swimbaits , well one said to use 25 lb. CXX (p-line) and another said 80 lb. braid , i know CXX is very strong , but was looking thru TACKLETOUR reveiws and i read that the SPIDERWIRE G-STRING is over twice as strong as P-LINE CXX , well i actually think thats spiderwires claim . i looked for it on diffferent websites and the highest dia. is 20 lb. , so does any one have experience with the g-string line and can compare it to the CXX . and would this line hold up to moderately big swimbaits ( 3-6 oz.) , or should i just go with the 80 lb. braid ??? , reason im concerned is that i fish really clear waters and highly pressured ones at that ...... thanks
  15. thanks for the feedback , i am definitely getting some , probably one of each of the sebile line . the stick shadd looks very promising and the crankbait , heck , they ALL do !!!! ;D the bait monkey is all over me !!!!!!!
  16. i too have tried those and they didn't work for me either . i think i'll also stick to 4/0-6/0 EWG hooks , i just hate to tearing up the heads of frog on mats when the hook snags , yes i skin hook the hook point but just barely so i can get better hook-ups faster . Owner screw lock hooks work good on some frogs with a drop of crazy glue where the frog is screwed in . well , the frog hooks aren't a waste , ill use them as stinger hooks for big swimbaits .........
  17. yup , they are on my list , my local tackle store doesn't have the green or brown ones in yet , but i might just have to try the black ones ( they only have black and white at the tackle store ) .....
  18. does that line have alot of memory ? it just seemed wiry and stiff but my tackle store guy says to use it cause it has terrific strength for swim bait fishing . do you use it as a long leader tied to braid as your main line ? your feedback is appreciated btw , have you used ANDE mono for swimbait applications ?? It has memory, but I change out my line every couple outings, so my line doesn't get used a long time. I don't use braid for my swimbait setup. I like having the stretch of mono. You can also use Triline Big Game. Its super cheap and you get a ton of it at walmart. You have to get a round baitcasting reel if you want to toss the big swimbaits. Low profile reels don't have a ton of line capacity, so they are not really that great for swimbaits. Never heard of ANDE mono though. this is the ANDE mono - http://www.tackledirect.com/anmon.html
  19. so you think 25 or 30# mono is stronger than 30 or 40 # power pro braid ? btw , you got a PM...........
  20. MICRO , i think you posted this in the wrong topic , should of been about the special edition REVO S with the PT like finish ,
  21. something like these http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_1625_100010000_100000000_100010000_100-10-0
  22. yeah , i think there is always some risk taking when your throwing a swimbait(that weighs 3 oz. or more). your tackle is only as good as your weakest link . experimentation is the key to the whole ''right tackle set-up'' .
