  1. Owner 3X punching hooks with the cutting point doesn't get much better
  2. i never have used them , i just change out my line when it starts to go bad ......
  3. you just answered your own question about what reel to use :
  4. you want the piece of shrimp just big enough to cover two trebles , the fish will get hooked on the exposed treble .....
  5. if i were you , i would not want to get a rod that i am gonna throw baits on that will be at the max end of a rod's rating , that said , the diawa rod Mike suggested would work fine .....
  6. if you are looking for the best rod under a $100 , get an Okuma evx ....
  7. don't know anything about McCoy's lines but i will suggest a very good line that is very smooth , doesn't have hardly any memory , very strong , and is not expensive = Izorline XXX !! i use 10 lb. and 12 lb. on my baitcaster and love the stuff . and like you , i haven't been able to afford the Gamma co-poly , so i have been using the Izorline XXX on my swimbait setups in 25 lb. and will not use any other line !!!
  8. try the 6" huddleston , they also have a weedless version . Mattlures also has some great bluegill baits in soft plastic and hard jointed versions . also look into Osprey soft plastic swimbaits in 6" and 7" sizes . you will get bit on these baits and you will attract bigger fish ..........
  9. If you developed it and had the capacity to make it why did you need the blessings of another company to produce it? And if they already had it in development why would they let someone else put out the same thing and take money out of their pockets. I believe I will do as Avalonjohn44 and make my own with a little mend-it, if I ever have the desire to fish with something that swims like Lt. Dan. Lt. Dan had no legs. This thing technically has 4 so your assessment makes no sense. Try again, this thing has a head two arms and a torso and no legs. If your going to try and insult someone at least learn basic anatomy. No you might have some argument if you were referring to the cross swamp since it is designed to be hooked in the intersection and not the shorter "head" end of the bait as in the video. you mean like this one made by Kicker Fish http://www.***.com/Kicker_Fish_Texas_Weedless_Wacky_Worms/descpage-KFTWW.html
  10. whatever , didn't mean to hurt your feelings : just seems like that bait has been done before , just doesn't look all that good , just like "that Reins bait" ............
  11. another option is to use smaller braid . i use 30 lb. power pro for frogs , the line is plenty strong and i can get super long casts with it .
  12. i don't know about that one , seems the rage toad is slightly heavier , if not the same .
  13. for moving baits , braid works fine in clear water . if you are using it for jigs , texas-rigged worms , realy most bottom presentations , i would (and do) use either a flourocarbon or co-poly leader .
  14. whatever hand you use to work the rod with , retreive with the other . i can only use my right hand to work the rod so i use only left hand retreive reels , if you can use both hands , maybe you might prefer both (L and RH retreive reels !!!)
  15. try some Owner twist lock hooks , your bait will not slide down the hook any more !!! if they don't have a big enough gap , try the Owner beast hooks , there are weighted and unweighted versions ...
  16. i throw the 8" Hudd alot and i use Izorline XXX in 25 lb. test . alot smoother than CXX , i used to use that line(the CXX) till i started casting off to many baits due to the line getting breaks in it from kinks . people like that Triple Fish camo-essence (perlon line) but if you are looking for a line with minimal memory , Triple Fish is NOT it !!!! .....
  17. it is the same bait as Reins cross-swamp soft plastic bait ......
  18. use little pieces of shrimp on a size 12 treble 2' below a 1" bobber .......
  19. if you haven't bought the rod yet , get one of these http://www.***.com/Okuma_EVX-A_Casting_Rods/descpage-OEVXCR.html if you do , you can thank me later ;D
  20. people should petition Big O to make the Rage Toads bigger ...........
  21. looks exactly like BPS's TD-PRO baitcast reel from last year :
  22. very good bait !!! i have one , (used to have 2 but lost one ) they are a great dual purpose lure since you can use them with the rattle on or off .
  23. add Izorline XXX to that list of line for swimbaits . losing baits is part of the game , if you are afraid you might lose baits , don't throw swimbaits ...........
  24. i picked watermelon red because i like a more translucent colored green in clear water , more natural to me ....
