Rage Tail. Epic Fail.
i also don't care to much for the rage tail baits i have tried (shad , anaconda , and the toad) they rip way to easily and i have found cheaper products that in my opinion work better . the bait i found i like the best out of them is the toad , jsut wish it was twice as big , that would be a winner . i even Pm'ed Big O about if there was any chance of them making a bigger size but he never even bothered to reply to me , so now i will not ever bother to buy these baits even if they did , nothing like being ignored to make you a negative fan of said products ...........

fishing frogs & toads
i use Canyon Plastics frogs , a buzz type frog , i retrieve it with a steady retrieve as slowly as possible , keeping it on top and the legs slowly churning . i found that i catch alot more fish that way then using hollow body frogs letting them sit on mats .

Choice of line for shakey head?
your best choice would be a good fluorocarbon line . i like to throw bigger worms on a shakey head rig so i can cast them on a baitcaster , so i use 10 lb. flouro . as for the hook set , i use only Owner hooks (Owner ultra head rigs) so i have confidence that when i do a light hook set that i will button the fish , i stay away from hard hook sets , to me , it is not needed ...

how to decide to throw a t-rig or a jig?
i rarely get to throw a jig in good spots cause of all the bottom grass in the lakes i fish . so that is my deciding factor , if there is grass -no jigs only texas rigged plastics .

Rigging a Hudd
i rig all my Hudds (only use the 8" ) very similar , in that i don't use wire between my trap hook ( size 1, Owner ST-41 ) and the hudd eyelet . i use a Berkley cross-loc snap (size 3) , a lot easier to change hooks out , sometimes i go down to a size 2 hook when im throwing it deep down among rocks but use the bigger size 1 for deep open water . by the way , i mostly use the ROF16's .......

Favorite flipping hook
the Owners are only $3.49 for a 5 pack !!! http://www.***.com/Owner_Straight_Shank_Wide_Gap_3X_Flippin_Hook/descpage-OSHWG.html The Owners don't look like they have a welded eye from the pic on TW correct me if I'm wrong.. I like the welded eye and don't want to go through the hassle of doing it my self. i don't think they are , haven't checked mine . but with 50 lb. braid (i use for punching mats) and 20-25 lb. flouro i use for flipping , i consider the non-welded eye not an issue . are you concerned about chaffing of the line ??
