  3. it comes in green , yellow and bronze brown . the brown is all they are offering at *** .
  4. i want 2 of the them , one of the SL101HPT's(7.0:1) and one of the SL101SPT's(6.3:1) . i want to put the 150 size reel handle on the 100 size reels ( the 150 handle is longer) , i am really looking foward to them !!!!
  5. i imagine that the new magnesium spinning reel (the Patriarch) might change your mind :oYeah, those look awesome. I hadn't seen them before a few mins ago. I learned the hard way that great looks don't equal great reels but I will check them out. Thanks http://www.tackletour.com/reviewpfluegerspinningpreICAST10.html a later test review will hopefully be coming soon !!!!
  6. i just got off the phone with the Cortland company , they will give me all the true specs and i will post them here . there is some irregularity as to the true specs since they have made some changes . the real specs have these lines as VERY round ( 12 carriers/strand) and alot thinner than most all the brands we have been using , will post back soon
  7. i think any advancement in braid is great.12 carrier does not always mean smoother.i would like to feel some of it.12 carrier does not also mean rounder.if it is smoother and round and does not digg then it would be awesome.stiffer is better.no mono is as soft as braid.the stiffest braid is still limper than any mono.stiffer braids will wind knot less than limper braids.they will also backlash less at the start of a cast. that statement is right on the money !!! , exactly why this braid is very user friendly !! here is pictures of this braid magnified , http://saltyshores.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/MasterBraid-a-picture-is-worth-75000-words1.pdf , just to see how it will stay smooth and will cast very good . dang , i sound like a salesman ;D really i have no relation to this company !!!
  8. i imagine that the new magnesium spinning reel (the Patriarch) might change your mind
  9. it is a stiffer braid , almost like how power pro is when it is new . softer lines are more susceptible to wind knots and tip wrap . this line is a VERY compact line , it is a 12 carrier braid !! here is the description from Tackle warehouse - Utilizing nearly 100 years of braiding experience and technology, Cortland Line introduces the next generation of premium super braid - Cortland Master Braid. With only 4% stretch, a small diameter pound/test ratio and a unique hydrophobic coating, Master Braid slices through the water and comes back dry. Constructed using all the best features of Cortland's legendary Spectron braided line, it includes a unique coating that makes it permanently stiff, and is also rounder than other braided lines - which means less twist, greater accuracy and longer casts. In addition, Cortland Master Braid features a proprietary Cortland process that permanently bonds the color and finish to the fibers of the braid, eliminating the fading and flaking so common with competitive braided lines. A great option for spinning and casting reels. Equiv. Mono dia. 30/6lb , 50/8lb , 65/15lb , 80/18lb
  10. for rigging thick plastics , i would suggest you try the Owner beast hooks , they have a weighted version and a non-weighted version . these hooks are very stout and stay very sharp . give them a try !!
  11. go with one of the choices these guys have given you , they are much better than the duckett rods .....
  12. sometime around September for the Pflueger spinning reel . and some time in Nov./Dec for the Quantum Smoke . i'm saving my $ now for them
  13. some time in the next few months , i can't wait
  14. i have stated plenty of times that i love the Revo series of reels but when the Quantum smoke reels come out , i will buy 2 of the 101's , they are sure to be sweet !!! gonna have them mounted to 2 Phenix customs as far as Pfleugers go , i also want one or two of the new Patriarch magnesium reels !!!
  15. Why should you have to do that in order to get everything you want in a reel? All of my Shimano reels are bone stock and will handle any fish you want to catch. so will a basspro shops megacast reel ;D doesn't mean i would want to fish with it .......
  16. Cortland also is the strongest braid on the market , period ....... that is not opinion , that is fact
  17. how true , senkos rip so easy on a moderate cast , i usually lose 3-4 out of a pack just casting them , and another 3-4 on a hook set > been using "knockoffs" a lot and when my senkos run out i will not get any more cause they are not cost effective
  18. of course Revo's are better than shimano's . as far as what Micro said , i have to tell you that in my experience with Abu garcia/pure fishing has been fantastic , the people really help you and are actually enthused to help you and make sure everything is right . and as far as bearings go , it amazes me that all these guys with a bunch of reels and big tackle connoisseurs don't replace their reel bearings with upgraded ceramic ball bearings when they do their first cleaning of their reels :-? at least put some ABEC 5 or prefferably ABEC 7 bearings in it . do that to a Revo and put in a Smoooth drag washer lightly greased with Cal's drag grease and you have a reel that is every thing you want in a reel .............
  19. for all those that thought power pro , suffix , diawa samuri and fireline braids were the best offerings , take a look at Cortland's master braid ! i know Dodgeguy is going to be mad , but his fireline 8 strand/carrier braid is a little behind on technology , Cortlands braid is 12 strand/carrier !!!! it is a little stiffer than most braids , but when the wind is blowing , you will appreciate it cause you will not get wind knots like diawas samuri braid , personally i hate soft braid and that is the time i change my braid out for new line is when it does get too soft . and in case your thinking i'm sponsored by cortland , i wish !!! but NO, i am not or for that matter any other company !!! so give it a try , you might just find your new favorite braid , i did they finally have it for sale at tackle warehouse http://www.***.com/Cortland_Masterbraid/descpage-CMSTBRD.html and another thing , their 50 lb. line has an 8 lb. dia. , yes even smalller diameter than samurai ( their 40 lb. is of 8 lb. dia.)
  20. this not braid but mono/co-ploy lines . http://www.gamefishin.com/wa/features/linetest.htm
  21. i love these reel seats !! but only the size 17 mm . i can't wait till the split ACS reel seat is available , these are "gotta have em's" !!!! here is a pic of them
  22. call up Spro and ask them if it is even out yet or if in fact it is another color readily avail. here is the number - Tel (770) 919-1722
  23. low profile baitcasters all the way !! i even throw big swimbaits on one ( Revo Toro 51), to me round reels don't feel right in hand
