  1. that reel in the link is on sale at $39.99
  2. it must be that 10# 100% flouro that is weak cause i had the same breakage issues , also threw it away . been using Toray Super Hard Strong , i love this stuff !! very strong line that i don't have to worry about breaking on me . it costs a little more but so much better than P-line , Seagaur , and Berkely lines !!! BTW , i still can't get over the fact that so many people like Yo-zuri :-? , one of if not thee worst lines i have ever used :
  3. if you are throwing small baits , i would down size the line . i use 8 lb. P-line CXX clear for 3/8 oz. and under baits . i get longer casts and gives the bait a little better action .
  4. what ever hand you feel comfortable working the rod with , you reel with the other . for instance - I'm right handed but i work the rod with my right hand and reel with the left , yeah , i use a left-hand retrieving reel . it does not have anything to do with whether your right handed or left handed
  5. it doesn't neccesarily make them stronger(they are plenty strong enough) but just a lot smoother
  6. try posting this in the rod/reel/line section
  7. i have found that the 5/8 oz. one knocker lipless baits have very weak hooks , they might be sharp but they bend/straighten way too easy , a bait that has a mandatory hook swap for Owner ST-41's . a good bait none the less , just not as good as the Red Eye shad . wished Strike King would offer a tungsten one knocker Red Eye shad , that would be the ultimate lipless bait !!!!!
  8. that double o-ring trick is the ticket it seems , using just one o-ring puts the hook in an akward position , like hook up percentage would be decreased greatly :-/
  9. that is a nice little trick , just hope i don't melt the stick bait
  10. i store my soft plastics in a tackle binder , the pages are ziplocks !! i don't like to store plastics in plano type boxes cause they get all jumbled around , i like them to lay flat , you get that from keeping them in ziplocks ..
  11. i would have to say Stike King crankbaits , you just have to change out the hooks (i change them out for Owner ST-41's ) . they produce and are easy to get replacements if you lose one or two . i also like Bomber crankbaits , again change out the hooks !!! gonna try some Lucky Craft cranks soon here , hope they are worth the extra $$$ :-?
  12. nice goby/sculpin imitation !!! looks like a good flipping bait or might be nice on a drop shot rig .
  13. yes , you need to remove the spool shaft retaining pin to remove the bearing . here is the breakdown of a reel , there are photos and explanation of removing the pin correctly , cause if you do it wrong and are not careful you will ruin the spool shaft or the pin . this is a Revo Inshore reel , but it will be generally the same as far as spool shaft pin removals go http://www.tackletour.net/TTForums/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=29451
  14. for my spinning set-up i have an Abu Garcia cardinal 102 reel . i bought it for 28 bucks and it has suprised me for being such a smooth strong reel . i had bought it for trout fishing but realized it was a better reel than i thought when purchasing it . i have now been using it as my main spinning set-up and bought a cheapo Diawa spinning reel for trout .
  15. well i have been experimenting with different brands and have come to the conclusion that Yum Dingers and strike King Shim E sticks have really good action similar to Senkos . the Dingers are not that durable ( more so than Senkos) compared to the Shim E sticks , so i think the Dingers would be good for light biters , and the Shim E sticks are for a more aggresive bite . i buy them both at Wal-mart for $3.00 , so i am happy even if i happen to lose a bait on every other fish , they are certainly cheaper than Senko prices !!!
  16. on a 6 pin centrifugal brake setup , i use just one on for everything but big swimbaits , then i use two . i have a Revo sx (2009 model) and i have the mag brake set on 5 , they are a little weaker than most reels which is fine with me
  17. picture of an 11'1" sturgeon caught on the Missouri river a few weeks ago , estimated weight is over 1,000 pounds !!! , i can't even imagine catching that thing ! they said it took 4 guys , 6 and a half hours to reel him to the boat
  18. Robo Worm FX 6" straight tail worm in summer shad color !!!
  19. anybody use these http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_44681_100007007_100000000_100007000_100-7-7
  20. in !!! blue/black color and cinnamon brown ..
  21. my advice is to buy the best line you can . i started to use Toray flouro and now i will and don't want to ever go back to cheaper lines ( i mean quality not necessarily price wise ) , these top-end lines last longer and are more consistent in their characteristics such as strength , visibility , and manageability. it is a lesson in learning
  22. good post of that video !!! they seem to have the same fall as a Senko !!! thanks
  23. this is a mandatory item in my night fishing box !!!! ;D ;D ;D
  24. lipless crankbaits , mostly Red-eye shads and an excaliber one knocker (all in sexy shad colors ) and also 5" stick baits wacky rigged lubed up with Pro Cure scent (trophy bass scent !!) and a few swimbaits ....
