  1. those are very nice , are you gonna sell similar ones ????
  2. that's easy , THE TRICK WORM !!!!
  3. reaction strike makes Cabelas rods .........
  4. if your looking for a left-handed one - http://cgi.ebay.com/Abu-Garcia-Revo-SX-L-Left-Hand-Reel-Upgraded-Model_W0QQitemZ350309735832QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5190165d98
  5. i use and recommend the ST-41's , with the cutting point , no other hooks come close ......
  6. slowly sink , i twitch them then dead stick them when they sink and they get hammered !!!!
  7. i have a REVO SX and it is spooled with 30# power pro and i can cast baits as small as 3/8" of an ounce a pretty long ways , put on a 1/2 oz. lure and i can cast it a mile ( a long ways , any how !!!! ) that is what the sx does , it casts very far , just takes some fine tuning of the cast control and magnetic brakes . as far as the REVO INSHORE , i have one of those also and it really does not like to cast anything under a 1/2 oz. i had 50 lb. power pro on the inshore and could not get good results on baits that are too light . so i use it on my swimbait rod rated for 2-6 oz. lures . i have 15 lb. p-line CXX now on it . hope that helps . btw , don't give up on the SX , that is a awesome reel ,just take your time with it and learn the brakes and cast control and you shall be rewarded
  8. i have said it before and i'll say it again when asked , CANYON PLASTICS 4.5'' frog are in my opinion , the most versatile frogs made . i have caught some of my biggest bass on these frogs . here they are and the hooks (OWNER TWISTLOCKS in 5/0) i use for them or any other soft plastic frogs . btw, i replace the CPS (centering pin spring ) that come with the 5/0 hooks with the larger ones (1/4'' ones)
  9. i have dropped down to 6# cxx and find it is more managable than 8# , and the line has plenty of strength ....
  10. are they like the UPTON CUSTOM BAITS 19'' worm cause those things are at least an inch and a half in diameter , if so you are gonna have to use a big , wide hook like the OWNER beast hook in 10/0 . if it is skinnier , use the oversized worm hooks also from OWNER in either 7/0 or 11/0 ....
  11. very good hooks !! strong , sharp and good corrosion resistance . i actually use the ST-41's , the ones that have the cutting points , in my opinion , the best treble hook on the market . i use them to replace the stock ( gamakatsu , vmc , mustad etc..) hooks ....
  12. don't know about the weed slinger , but 3:16 soft plastics are pretty durable and heavy compared to most plastics . i would choose the mission fish if i were you , but seeing as you probably buy both , give us your opinions when you fish both .
  13. first time seeing them , look good but wonder why there is no tail :-?
  14. you have given me hope that this rod will be the ultimate swimbait rod , check your PM .
  15. is the bait weighted ? was wondering if it will cast far without tumbling , that would be great if it does , i LOVE deep diving crankbaits
  16. that is exactly what my dilema is , for micro guide tops , the biggest tip top is a size 7.5 and the blank i'm gonna have made has a size 8 tip i have heard of builders splitting the tube and with good wrapping , it will work out ok and be neat . i am gonna have all black thread wraps on the guides so i hope it can come out nice and still be strong ... can anyone post a pic or two of a split tip top and what it looks like wrapped , if that is not too much to ask ;D thanks ... Sorry about not replying back, I missed your post. I don't have a pic readily available, but if you head over to rodbuilding.org you should be able to find one with little problem. There are several guys who split micro tops for the exact purposes your describing. I personally don't go any smaller/larger than 4mm/5mm on my tips. the tip top i'm looking at has a size 4 ring with a size 7.5 tube . i really hope this will work any how , here is the picture of it ( from C&M CUSTOM TACKLE SUPPLY) ( the one on the left)
  17. is it this one http://www.***.com/descpageFROGSCP-CPF.html
  18. GAMMA's website is still up and looks like i might get one or two bulk spools in 25 lb. test in green , wish i had the $$$ to buy like 7-10 bulk spools
  19. the ACS reel seat is for comfort , for these size blanks i have been using TCS seats , just don't find it as comfortable as the ACS . sensitivity is not needed in a reel seat on a rod that is gonna be throwing 10-15 oz. lures , that's a no-brainer : , but anyhow , thanks for the advice ......
  20. i use Owner twistlocks in 5/0 , they are more of a "buzz" frog , meaning that they sink but are able to swim slowly , i like them that way cause i can let them sink in holes between the mats and once they sink , i twitch them and they dart like a fluke , causing most of my strikes just as they go under. i love these frogs cause i hardly ever miss a fish on them and they survive plenty of bass , so yeah , they are pretty durable for a soft plastic bait . give them a try . i guess every one has different ways to fish frogs , i am more of a type to have a moving frog , i don't like to let the frog sit on top floating , gots to keep it moving !!! so they match my style perfectly ....
  21. how deep will that top bait dive ???
  22. no , not the ECS , the FUJI ACS is what i want to mount , this is going on a swimbait rod . the blank is a REACTION STRIKE "SUPER MAGNUM " . the rod is rated for 4-16 oz. lures . i still have to get the specs on it ( i have some preliminary specs for it but am waiting on precise measurements ) so i am asking these things so i can get the components in line for when the rod is ready to be wrapped ..
  23. yes they are microguides , i'm gonna use size 4's for the tip top and bottom guides , i have talked to a few people that say that they should not be a problem . i will be using 25 and 30 lb. test on this rod . as for brand of line , i will be using IZORLINE XXX or if i can get ahold of a bulk spool of GAMMA copoly .so i think that line will work good with these guides . opinions on this ??? please ??
