  1. how could i leave out my 2 fishing buddies
  2. here is s few of my favorite one's from this year. moon over Kentucky lake during the road trip, my grandson catching his first smallmouth, my wife with one of her smallmouth bass on one of her few days off.
  3. I night fish at least 2 times during a week, I'm fishing in a river but i have tried a lake a few times. I have tried different baits the best for where i fish is a jitterbug, the color depends on how dark the night is, what the moon phase is in. most of the time black is the all around color. There will be night that a lighter color works better, we had a few night that white with a red head caught more fish, nights that chartuse worked better, other nights yellow was the best color or maybe it was a color you just happened to try. thats what makes it a little more fun trying to figure out what works best. all around black catches more fish.
  4. nice looking dogs, some funny pictures too. here is a couple pictures of my fishing schnauzers they fish with me almost every time i go fishing. the first picture is them waiting on me to catch a fish so they can jump in and swim after it and try to catch it. the second picture is after a hard days fishing.
  5. Dan you can see the pictures on tacklemaking section on the form page 2 jitterbug repaint by Big M the jitterbug that we caught most of the fish on was the one with the scales.
  6. great looking baits, the third one looks good for smallmouth.
  7. try night fishing with jitterbugs when the water is low and warm.
  8. thanks everyone, was fun catching them. one of the most enjoyable ways of fishing is to wade fish and use jitterbugs at night.
  9. finally got to try out the custom painted jitterbugs that Marty (BigM) painted for me. we had a good night caught a lot of redeyes and a lot of smaller bass. i did catch a few that was good sized. i didn't have my hog trough with me or a scale so i would only be guessing the length and weight. i was well pleased with the fish i caught on the custom painted one with scales (the one my wife said was hers). i also caught some nice ones on dark colored one with a red spot under the front hook. the first fish was caught with the scales jitterbug, the next fish that showes only half of the fish was caught on the dark jitterbug. took a few more pictures of other fish but they didn't turn out, this was my first try at taking pictures at night hope to get better. one of Mike's fish that he caught with one of my jitterbugs that Marty painted for me.
  10. got the jitterbugs in the mail today, they look great can't wait to use them the bad news is the river is up a little and not clear so i'll have to wait a few days. Mrs SMFisher has claimed the one with the scales on it said it was hers and i couldn't use it. great job Marty Thanks!!!!!
  11. Marty, I just wanted to let you know that I have never seen jitterbugs look as good as the pictures that you posted today. There is some of them that he will not get to fish with because I will be using them. WOW!!! Looks Great! (Mrs. SMFisher) They are just what I wanted. I really like the custom painted ones really well. I will take some night pictures of the big fish that I catch with them. Thanks for taking the time out for me I greatly appreciate it. SMFisher

nice work! they look like they are ready to catch fish.
  13. Had the pleasure of taking my grandson out on the river Thursday. the problem he's five so how was i going to get him around the swift water--- use the boat i use for my dogs, worked perfect. we went across the river where i knew there was a few bass just waiting for us. within 15 minutes he caught 3 smallmouth then he said he wanted something to eat, well wouldn't you know i'm not use to kids fishing with me and all our food and snaks were on the other side of the river, 25 minutes later we were having our snaks and then a rest time. After the rest he wanted to go back out where his dad was-- across the river. we started across on the way i started fishing with a 4" black mistertwister grub, fishing as i walked. i caught 10 redeyes 5 or 6 bass about 12 to 14" and one bass 18" by the time we got to his dad a thunderstorm came up so we had to hurry out of the river and go home. Was a great fishing trip on the river with the grandson watching him catch a few fish and i managed to catch a few myself.

    great work, nice colors
  21. i have had a little luck using pearl color flukes with a little weight to get them under the surface a little, 4" mister twister grubs (black) with 1/0 truturn hook and a split shot for weight white is also good this time of year, Bandit size 100 in crawfish/orange belly has been catching fish, size 2 mepp spinner-crome blade with 2" white twister for trailer, caught some on triksticks greenpumpkin and some times i'll use live bait. after i got back from the roadtrip the bass started to spread out, they was in deeper holes of water and schooled up now they are comming closer to the bank and in smaller pockets of water that are about waist deep or swift water with eddies on each side and some rocks, the fish seems to be spread out more than they were a week ago. i do all of my fishing out in the river wadding , i see some people fishing in boats and some just bank fishing all seem to be catching fish. the redeye are starting to bite now. hope that helps a little.
  22. congrats guys on your win!! great fish jimzee bet you had a great time fighting that monster, nice picture.
  23. had a great time, got to meet a lot of great guy and gals, thanks go out to Pitchenkid, Jimzee and Speedbead for taking dick and myself in after out tent was blowen down and everything was wet inside. great bunch of guys, we repayed by singing to them, the name of the song (sawing logs all night). as some heard i lost all my takle monday morning, thanks to dick for the open takle box. i had a few offers if i need anything thanks to those that offered. I fished with dick and Pitchenkid thay took me to school just hope i can remember some of what they showed me. you know how that saying goes (they showed me everything they know and i still don't know anything). I didnt catch that many big fish but did catch a lot of fish on a couple of the good days. I did have my personal best by far to the boat, dick had the bottem lip in his hand for a split second before it threw back my jig and was gone. maybe next time. dick caught some nice fish as well as Pitchenkid. thanks to all that worked hard putting the roadtrip together had a great time, get to put face's with names now. Thanks to all for the good food. the hard work and time takes away from your fishing time.
