Super User Gatorbassman Posted March 29, 2008 Super User Share Posted March 29, 2008 I just wanted to let everyone know that these trips are not expensive. We share expenses and rides and we have dinners at night that help keep the individual cost down. I think I spent a total of 550 bucks on the Guntersville trip. That includes pulling a boat to and from, getting a guide, gas, food, cabin rental and everything else. It's very possible for anyone on a budget to go on this trip. Just start planning now. Something I do, and found out today that massholeMike does to, is to set aside a separate acct, or xmas club acct that gets $10-20 directly deposited each week. Even with just $10, you'll have 4/5 of the $ by the time the trip comes.
JT Bagwell
For the past several weeks, the mods and I have been busy working on determining a site for next year's roadtrip. I'm pleased to announce that we've decided on Kentucky Lake! Once more, we also know the dates. Mark this on your calendars now: April 19-24 The lake should be at the peak of pre-spawn/spawn at this time, and the fishing is expected to be fantastic! You DON'T want to miss this event. So start planning now for next year! What City/State are you guys planning on staying in? JT Bagwell
CJ
That's in the works already. Looking at Kenlake State Park in Aurora, Ky. It has everything needed as far as lodge, cabins, boat rentals, etc. But it's not in stone yet.

tallydude
This is freaking AWESOME! Even though I live in Florida, I grew up on Kentucky Lake and my grandfather's house is 2 1/2 miles away from Aurora and Kenlake Marina. Christine and I are bringing the baby home for the first time to Ky next Friday. Glenn, I guess you can count me in .

Ky_Lake_Dude
GREAT CHOICE! What part will yall be at? I would recommend the Paris Landing Area because Right next to Paris Landing is Buchannan's Resort and they have good accommodations, my dad and I have stayed there.
