  1. you can fish in the canals in ft wilderness from shore i think. Other than that as stated above....you will get sniped by mickey secret service for fishing the main lakes. That being said.....i fished around the Grand Floridian once when staying there for an hour or so without consequence. Just dont be blatant about it, or go at night. Those lakes are crazy good btw.
  2. this bait is alright. I have one. For the money i would rather have a BBZ1 or a TT shad.
  3. I agree. I get BM, but picked up a copy of FLW at the book store. I was impressed and thought it had more useful info then BM. Both FTW.
  4. i just want 'Day on the lake' back. Almost all the personality hosted fishing shows are a joke anyway.
  5. 15 yr old + dad/mom in car= driving either way i dont think he was asking for peacock spots within a 30 minute walk from Jupiter.
  6. soft jerk baits (flukes, bass assasins, etc) are killer baits. One of the most versatile baits around. they will catch fish when used with all the methods mentioned above. ps-You can fish them slow too......like worm slow....can be killer when the bite is off a bit.
  7. to be clear.....peacocks are easy to catch when they are bedding. That is because they rarely if ever spook off a bed. So you can sit there and tease them forever until they bite. Apart from that they are a totally different fish than a LM and require totally different tactics. They can be just as elusive especially in the colder months.
  8. The closest to Jupiter............the C51. About 25 minutes.
  9. my buudy just got a TT and said that it is smaller than the spro even though they are both advertsied as 4". I have a spro and it casts like crap because it folds like a sail. Hopefully the TT is better from that perspective.
  10. hahaha.....sexy shad. A perfect illustration of how colors are made more for fishermen than fish. In regards to the kit......i would never want that many lures in the same color.
  11. 14# XT...usually. Recently spooled some 15# berkley FC. Seems good so far. Low stretch.
  12. Everytime i get on the water i am trying to catch fish.....regardless of size.....once i start doing that then i try to pattern bigger fish.
  13. Pitching: 7' All Star Viper series (old school), Shimano Castaic, 40# power pro Flipping: 7"6" Castaway, Shimano Castaic, 60# power pro
  14. I wonder if he would have caught the same stringer throwing a Zoom mag !!, Cuplrit 10 inch, or any 10 inch on that honey hole? hmmmm....
  15. That technique linked above is great. I have never seen it illustrated before, although i have used it for a while. Everybody should know how to effectively do a throat hook removal....it happens to even the most seasoned anglers.
  16. Fishing has been good down here between the fronts.
  17. Never. It makes no sense to me kill a fish i enjoy catching so much. If i wanted to eat fish i would target crappie or others.
  18. interesting. I dont know how much a bullet sinker is going to force open a fishes mouth. I mean it is tapered obviously, and comes to a point....regardless the bite of the hook is far wider than the bullet weight. Props on putting that much thought into it though. What ever helps your hookup percentage, you should definitely do!!! Good stuff.
  19. My buddy actually saw some males clearing beds this week. I think that was an instinctive reaction to the drop in water temp and not a true spawn but it shows how crazy and sporatic the FL spawn can be. Females usually dont get up till Febuary down here but it is 100% dependent on the water temp....and therefore the weather.
  20. There isnt a water temp when they stop eating. They always eat. The toughest time for most FL anglers is the first couple of days after a big front has gone through. Since most of our lakes are shallow.....the big sudden drop in air/water temp can throw them for a loop.
  21. The proper use of grammar should be learned. One should not need a crutch such as a grammar check or a spell check to be able to write. Isn't this already possible? DEFINATELY NOT!!!! The discussion of politics adds conflict and confrontation where it is not needed. This site is about bass FISHING and not one's political views. :-?

Great bait. Ive killed on the translucent white one. I love the size. Not as big as a spook but still walks well.
  23. how to night fish: Fish the same way you do during the day..... at night. That is all.
  24. we caught but not like Saturday. We were actually on the water and fishing as things changed and the front went through. We got some top water action early and then it just stopped....dead. Like they were gone. It was slow for an hour or so and then they adjusted and we started getting bit deep. Caught maybe 15. biggest was around 4.5. water was down 2 degrees.......but that is going to change this week.
