you won't believe the deal i got this morning
99$ ain't bad, i just got tremendously lucky! what ratio did you get? I wish i got a 7:1:1 or atleast a 6:3:1, but i am plenty happy because i'm getting a brand new shimano curado cu201e7 for christmas!

O, i've never used a crankbait setup, i guess i'll be fine. Has anyone else used energy pts? How do YOU like them?

you won't believe the deal i got this morning
Yeah that's true, truth is, there is no where to deep crank! the max depth everywhere is 4-5 ft mostly 2-3 ft though, so i will be using it to keep my slower moving worms and jigs in the strikezone longer.

thanks, it's a 5:1:1 gear ratio so it looks like i have a new plastic worm/jig reel.

you won't believe the deal i got this morning
This morning i went up to dick's sporting goods, oh i would say around 7 o'clock, i said to myself if they have an energy pt, i'm buyin' it! So i get there and "supposedly" the only energy left was the display model. He said that they couldn't legally sell the display which is pure bullcrap so i asked to see a citica d, so he went back there and came out with an energy pt box, he said it was the last one and it was behind all the other reels, so i had it priced checked, it was only 80$!!!! And then i got 20$ off of that, so i got a 190$ reel for just 60$ bucks. I have heard many bad things about this reel but today i was managing 40 yd casts into wind with a spinnerbait. That was impressive, has anyone else hear ever had an unbelievable deal such as this one??? If so, let's hear it!

TD-Pro vs. Citica E
some people liked the reels, most people said that they bought it because of looks and were very dissapointed, read the reviews and i think you'll do best with the citica e

I can't believe I found some!!!!!!!!
thanks! i have tried a few other brands, i don't like fireline, i like power pro on spinning reels, sufix is ok(had a lot of windknots). I'll keep trying new stuff.

serious question on what reel to get
That's a great idea to take the front treble off! i will sure try it, also where can i get spare spools for the curado 201e7? you know, so i don't have to trash my braid when i feel like fishing mono.

I can't believe I found some!!!!!!!!
I like the original the best haha. What you said about berkley and spiderwire is probley true, i just see people in tournaments that are sponsered by berkley and they fish both fireline and spiderwire... that's why i said it haha. I don't like spiderwire stealth, or invisibraid, just the really really old stuff.

Revo S problem
The level wind on my revo s is going to one side and filling line all the way on the right side. I don't know what to do i've cleaned and lubed and oiled the correct parts of the reel and it's still doing it( also i don't know if this helps but when it does go over to one side it's always the right side and it clicks as it's doing it. I can't send it back to the factory becuase i've had it for over a year and i don't think it's under warranty.

serious question on what reel to get
Sam, i am fishing heavy weeds and i like burning rattletraps over the weed beds, that is difficult with a 6:3:1 gear ratio and the only reel with a high ratio is the curado so i think i'll get the e7, thanks for your help. For the rod i'm getting a berkley lightning rod shock series (6'6" MH), i love crankbaits and superlines so this looks like a great rod for me. I have really been wanting a rod with split grips but all of them are expensive, that's when i saw the shock rod. it's only 50$ so i can fit it in my budget of 250$

I can't believe I found some!!!!!!!!
ok so here's the story, me and my family went down to k-mart to do some holiday shopping, not for each other but for aunts and uncles and cousins. So i was like what the h*** i'll go down to the fishing department. Not the much there, some bargain deals on lures but i really didn't need any. So then i went to the line section. There was one box of ORIGINAL spiderwire in 20 lb test. I coudn't believe it haha so i picked it up and asked my dad if i could have it for christmas. He said yeah so now i'm gonna have some great line for the combo i'm getting for christmas(curado 201e7 and Berkley lightning rod shock 6'6" MH rod). How do you guys like original spiderwire? anyone ever used it? i heard it was great and that people were actually angy because berkley stopped manufacturing it. So i jumped at the opportunity.

about time for a biggun
i don't have any spinnerbaits that big, i could get away with a half ounce or 3/8 ounce considering that the pond i fish is only 3 to 4 foot deep.

u.s. reel
i saw them in the latest bass master magazine. They look interesting but i wouldn't try something like that yet, it's the first baitcaster that reels in like that and i don't wanna be the first one to find out it doesn't work. I'm not sayin its a bad reel, i'm just sayin that i wouldn't buy one until i saw some positive feed back from people that have used them. No what i mean?

new guy from delaware!
thanks guys, nature is the best game! haha i have heard that there can be good fishing on the delaware but i have no boat and have never explored the delaware river. the only other place in delaware to catch smallmouth is in the brandywine river, which explains why my PB is only 1 1/4 lb. I wish i lived in a better fishing state haha, i might as well make do with what i have.

about time for a biggun
thanks, i havn't got much this year. as a matter of fact, i havn't even caught one over four pounds this year : i've caught a 3-5, 3-2, and 2-13 this year. anything over a pound and a half is good for that pond.

about time for a biggun
I am new to the forum and fish a very small local pond with not many big fish. Last year about this time of november i pulled this big guy (my PB) out of the pond he weighed 4 lb 11 oz on the digital scale and is so far, my biggest.
