  1. I saw it at k-mart, it didn't look to special.
  2. I have thrown the stx a couple of times and it is an alright reel, but i now own a curado 201 e7 and it can throw all lures better than the stx. This is only IMO. i know many people that like revos better and i got nothin against 'em. All i'm sayin is that the curado casts a little better than the STX IMO. Both are very comfortable to fish with, the curado is a tad lighter, and little more comfy for me(i have smaller hands), and the curado sits lower on my rods than the STX. I, personally, would go with the curado. But that's just me.
  3. Well here's the story, the monkey bit me first when i got an energy pt, that broke, then i got another one under warranty, that crapped out on me, So i said to hell with that and took that back and got me a citica 200D, can't go wrong with that! It's a little big, but i really like it. On top of that, 2 days later my Curado e7 came in the mail with a berkley lightning rod shock series(6'6" MH), i love that too! Tonight i'm going on BPS and ordering about 110$ of lures, haha i think i got the bug, what have you guys picked up lately? -Jason
  4. look for a berkley lightning rod shock series, i love 'em, they have a split grip and are super comfy.
  5. spinner bait or jig. I can't choose between them haha.
  6. Also Treble Hooks pull out of fish much, much easier than normal hooks because they are smaller than big worm hooks and EWG hooks, so you have to play your fish much easier until you see how well they are hooked, With the stretch of monofilament line you can put more pressure on the fish without pulling hooks, however, with braid, there is no or little stretch so if you put the same ammount of pressure on the fish with braid as you would with mono, there is deffinently a higher probability of the hooks pulling out of the fishes mouth. Hope this helps! -Jason
  7. yea that's exactly what happened bass dude, and thanks ff15
  8. Hey guys, i got a quantam energy pt before christmas, the anti reverse stopped working on it, took it back, got my money back. To my surprise, i got another for christmas, great ;D! Then that one started making funny sounds and backlashing alot > so i am taking that one back either later today or tomarrow. I need to decide what to replace it with when i return it, should i get 1. Shimano Citica D 2. Abu Garcia Revo SX 3. Pfleuger President (not the new model) All are baitcasters, this should be interesting ;D BTW, the other reel i got was a curado e7 and i couldn't be happier, i can't decide between the 3 models that i want to replace my energy pt with (please help! )
  9. shimano curado 201e7, with a berkley lightning rod shock series 6'6" MH rod.
  10. BPS has all of the spinning models, tackle warehouse has the catylist pt and the energy pt baitcasting reels
  11. bps has a david fritts crankbait reel in 4.7, daiwa's zillion makes a 4.9, zebco makes a 3.8 haha good luck
  12. The zillion is alot better than the revo skeet reese, It is made of better componets, the revo has some graphite and plastic parts in it, The revo is a little lighter, but doesn't reel as smooth as the zillion, The zillion's swept handle is a great feature, also the brakes on the revo are cheep and pop out easily, But the zillion has externally adjustable brakes, i would deffinintley go with the zillion.
  13. if you are wanting a daiwa reel and have a low budget, get a high speed daiwa exceler baitcasting reel. they are 64.95$, i consider them the best daiwa reel on the market! If you shop around a little you can get a shimano citica d for around 80 bucks, i would go with the shimano, it will last you better and the braking system on them is better ;D, can you tell i like shimano?
  14. I have a new Curado 201e7 in my dad's basement along with a berkley shock 6'6" MH casting rod to go with it. I CANNOT wait till i get on christmas day. My mom also bought me an energy pt and i cannot wait to use that too. I love christmas :
  15. how do you like your energy pt reels? any problems with them? answers will be appreciated, thanks!
  16. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH LINE CAPACITY ON THOSE REELS, you either need a wide spool reel or a round reel, like a calcutta, none of those reels would suit your needs. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, it's just that for musky fishing you would need a little heavier line than those reels are made for, the curado 301e is the best reel for low profile musky fishing, just my 2 cents.
  17. haha thanks guys i have casted the curado before(my friend has one) and loved it, i'm getting one for christmas so i think i'll use the curado for lighter baits and the citica for more heavy baits.
  18. What's the difference between the curado e and citica e, why is it 60$ more? I have already ordered a cu201e7 but can't have it till chistmas, i am probly gonna get a citica e soon, i would just like to know the main differences. I see the curado has a few more bearings, and i heard that it casts lighter things(weightless plastics like senkos) a little better than the citica. Are those the main differences or is there more. I know the curado is .2 oz lighter than the citica but i could give a rats furry black rear end about that much weight.
  19. It sure was a dissapointment, and Bass-Brat, i have not gotten anything to replace it with yet, after hearing everyone's suggestions in my other thread, i think i will save a little more and get a revo sx(lefty high speed retrieve) thanks! I was gonna get a citica e but decided against it because i already have a curado e hiding somewhere in my dad's house till christmas : haha. So i'll just save a little more, and get a sx. ;D Jason
  20. haha i like the sx, but the citica e is lighter and has centrifigul brakes, which i like more, which has a better warranty? and which will outlast the other if cleaned and oiled/lubed every couple of months? answers to those questions will be helpful.
  21. i've used my friends before and managed 30+ yard casts with 1/4 spinnerbaits, i don't think you'll have a problem with it, right now on ebay there is one for 149.99, that's what i call a deal!
  22. i have a buddy at dicks that whenever i buy a bunch of tackle, i give him the money, he goes up front and buys it for me with his employee discount, so i can get a sx for 140, which i might be able to manage, if i get the citica i would get the e(more ergonomic), which is better for all around fishing? Revo SX or Shimano Citica E???
  23. since i took my energy back this afternoon i am looking for a new reel, NO QUANTUMS, It has to be 120$ or under... what is THE best reel for this ammount of money, i was thinking citica e... what is your guys' input?
  24. today it startled squeeling and the handle started stickin'. Man i was ticked because it happened while i was fishing and that was the only rod i brung today(just for an hour or so), needless to say,... i took it back!
