Juno Beach can be an outstanding place to fish, station #32 is a good spot. My fly fishing buddies have been catching spinner sharks up there.

Where To Fish In West Palm Beach?
Both Lake Ida and Lake Osborne contain peacocks, as well as the canals leading out of of them. We were doing fine with them but it really slowed down this past week, just not seeing them now. The main canal going north out of Lake Ida around Boynton Beach Blvd and Gateway holds some very nice peacocks. I'd be remiss not mentioning downtown Palm Beach near the Flagler bridge is one of the premier places to catch large jack crevalles, 20-30# is the norm not the exception. You never know if jacks are going to show up or not, if they do you may get only 1 or 2 casts before they are gone. Cast where you think they will be not where they are, that's how fast they swim. First light best time.

Kill All Toothy Critters!
I'd like to see the invasive species eliminated, don't think it will happen. May as well enjoy them, snakeheads I hear are wonderful to eat, I can attest they are very feisty fighting fish. I don't want to see native fish eliminated, mother nature put them here for a reason.

Kill All Toothy Critters!
I find the discussion of trash fish very interesting. Trash is something that YOU don't want, I don't think any fish are trash, only the attitude is trash. A so called trash may be a great fight, excellent table fare or used for cut bait. One could not convince a die hard fly trout fisherman that anything tops that, stripers guys on Long Island feel their fish is the best, many bass guys feel bass is the greatness gamefish. Trash or gamefish to me a great fish is one that I can't catch everyday, one that takes me quite a while to land and after it's landed I don't want another, I'm too whacked out.

I use Ande leaders offshore and for inshore I cut my leaders from Ande mono premium.

Anyone Using Quantum Superlites Or Tour Edition Rods?
Can't comment on that specific rod but I do have 1 Quantum mh rod I use nearly everyday. The rod casts beautifully and my average fish is about 18-20#, I like this rod a lot it cost me about $60.

How Often Do You Fish?
7 days a week year round. Mornings are always saltwater, afternoon is freshwater unless there is a hot bite then I go back to the ocean.

Open Water Question
IMO the number one thing to look at is what does the water allow you to use. Open water does not always allow the use of lures with exposed hooks, there may be some floating vegetation. That being the case approaching sunset I'd be using a weedless fluke or frog. If the water allowed the use of exposed hooks I like a spook or a top water popper.

Pga The Players
I watched just about all of it and I too was rooting for Spieth. No question in mind he has the game to be winner but like the Masters he didn't cope with adversity like a seasoned veteran. The rain delay took a lot of wind out of the sails of Martin Kaymer, just made some bad shots, but prevailed in the end and overall played great. I do think in time Spieth is going to be a major winner, he is doing wonderful for a 20 year old.

What Happened To Our Sense Of Humor?
If I didn't have a sense of humor I wouldn't be on this site in the first place. Bass Resource is my comic relief, some of the posts I read are just hilarious, even the ones that have nothing to do with fishing. Sure ya gotta laugh at yourself, defending rods, reels, lines, hooks as being the best in order to catch 5# fish that can be landed in about 15 seconds, how can one not laugh at that. Real life is a different story, I try and treat everyone with respect and I don't care to laugh at some one else's expense. I wouldn't call a 350# porker a fat slob, even though they are and got that way from chowing down at the all you can eat buffet 4 times a week. One of the few things I have in common is I like to fish, it pretty much stops right there. Unlike many people here I am not white, not Christian, don't have pickup with a gun rack, not conservative in any way shape or form. You bet I'm politically correct.

The Demise Of A Bass Fisherman?
A medium rod is never going to be as stiff as heavy or extra heavy rod. What distinguishes a muskie rod is the heavier lure rate weight rating. You are not just going to be able to throw a 5 oz bait or heavier on a rod rated for say for 3 ounces. Muskie sized fish are caught on med or mh rods all the time, the lures being used weigh a lot less.

It doesn't appear that you would ever be considered trendy based on your present wardrobe description. Perhaps a membership in Hautelook may bring you into the 21 st century.

I've Had It With Flourocarbon Line!
The logic makes sense if one is a tournament fisherman, as a recreational fisherman it makes no sense to me. 65# braid isn't going to work for me on spinning gear and I don't plan on yanking fish in at warp speed. I'm there to have fun and too heavy a line gives me what I consider to be an unfair advantage over a fish. I'll go with knife over a gun when I'm fishing, bit more challenging for me.

The Demise Of A Bass Fisherman?
Not a muskie rod, I have a soujourn sjs 70h, one of my barracuda rods. Casts great and I have landed many fish 40-50" on it. One of my buds has a Van Staal on one.

Kill All Toothy Critters!
I want the biggest, hardest fighting fish mother nature is going to give me. If there is a choice I'd rather catch a mean 30# fish over an 8# bass anytime.

Most Dependable Spinning Reel @ 200$ & 100$
When I think of dependability I'm looking at how often the reel goes in for service, when it does what's the return time and are parts always available. My opinion Pflueger tops in that department and Shimano at the bottom. None of my 5 Pfluegers have ever needed service and every one of my Shimanos have gone down several times, the additional expense has come close to the original price. My barracuda reel is a Pflueger arbor, most fish are 20# + caught in saltwater, if a reel stands up to that without the need for service I'd be rating that pretty high on the dependability scale. The best reel is another issue, as with dependability it's purely subjective and based on one's own experience. In the sub $200 market there is no reel I like better than my Quantum cabo 40, extremely smooth, line manages quite well and a drag that I salivate over, 30# max drag on a 14 oz reel, and I've had to crank it down. True it's heavy by bass standards and certainly way more reel that's needed for sub 10# fish. I do feel it's the best reel I have ever used and I have hard time wanting to use any of my other reels. These threads always turn to Shimano and they aren't bad reels at all, I don't have a performance or weight problem with them and I like their line management best of all. Just hard to put them on the top of the heap when there so many other reels just as good IMO. For freshwater I wouldn't spend more than symetre if I were a die hard Shimano user. Fishing 7 days a week in all elements, any reel dropped in sand is going to need a cleaning at some point, I've never cleaned a freshwater reel and mine are as good as the day I opened the box.

Made For Braid?
I agree 100%. What ever braid ready system is used on the reel I still tape the arbor before spooling, even conventional reels using with mono. My smaller bass reels don't hold that much line, for my saltwater reels I want all the line capacity I can get, so I don't ever use backing.

I've Had It With Flourocarbon Line!
I've never used f/c line but have used f/c leaders, leader line is not the same. I tried it for the stealth attributes for some salt water species, despite accolades from both pro and amateur I found it to be nothing but hype. I did find that more attention was needed to secure a good knot, once tied right they held just fine and lines were not more prone to break. I must be on a drag kick as many of my recent posts mention setting the drag to the line. I don't care what kind of lines, leaders or knots being used, if the drag is right that chain should not break, providing none of the components have any damage. Getting broke off from a bass is something I just can't comprehend or even enters my mind. I see no advantage to f/c.

Best Jerkbait/riprap Knot
Both knots serve a different purpose, palomar good for hooks, swivels, jig heads, I prefer an ordinary clinch. Loopknot for lures, I keep it simple. Another thing I don't have to log is which knot I used for what bait, it's always the same for me.

Kill All Toothy Critters!
If God put them there they belong. I'd rather be catching the biggest, baddest fish around. Pike yes, but I won't ever fish for muskie again. A muskie is a magnificent beast, but it lacks stamina and it must be landed quickly or run the risk of it going belly up. Everyone likes to catch big so I can understand muskie fishing, I did plenty of it when I lived in Michigan, I can be a bit cavalier because I have bigger fish here in Florida. The same rules apply, if the fish may not make it you have to break it off. I had good sized tarpon maybe about 70# last week, after about 30 minutes I decided to break it off, I know I could have landed it but it wasn't worth risking the fish for a picture.

What's Wrong With This Pic!
Last time I saw a b/c it was some tourist bragging about a 5# bass, we asked him if he brought it along for bait.
