I stand corrected, they looked the same so I assumed. I never look in the freshwater rod section there, lol.

10Lb Sunline Sniper On A Symetre 2500?
Line twist and coiling are 2 separate issues. The spool sits parallel to the rod, the line gets wrapped around the spool which is fixed, line twist is the nature of the beast, I troll my line out after each outing. I think you may get some coiling with 10#, I'd spool on a little less on that should help a lot, hot water or line treatment helps too. Heaviest mono or copoly I use is 17# on an 8000 reel, I've used 20# too heavy for my taste. Coiling occurs frequently, hot water is my salvation. I do not use straight f/c, I will use a f/c leader with braid. Max distance is attributed to the rod loading up and the type of lure being used, I have 2 wide spool spinners, they about cast the same distance, one may see a better line management on a wider spool.

Awesome !!!!

I'm not sure there is much difference. I see a lot of Wiggins' rods here, 1 reason DSG sells a combo rod ans sabalos reel for about $100 once in a while. I don't care for the rod for the lack of a foregrip.

Florida Guys Check In Here.
Those peas look like they were caught at place I was at yesterday in Cocoanut Creek. I had no no peas but I did hook a bass and at first thought it might be one of the better ones of the year. I got the fish landed and it was a bit smaller than I first imagined, I'm thinking 24". As I'm waiting for this gal to walk across the street to snap a photo the fish felt like only 2 or 3#, it was thin. I just threw it back, wasn't photo worthy.

Superstition Or Science?
I don't do superstition, I may wear 5 different hats over 5 days and I'm totally focused, lol. It is not rare to hook fish and have 2 or 3 others trailing as you are reeling your fish in. This happening is not exclusive to just bass, I've caught 45" inch fish only to see several others of the same size trailing, with some species it's the norm not the exception. I did have what I thought to be a rare event a few weeks ago. I caught jack, pretty normal to have a follower, I've caught 2 jacks on the same lure dozens of times, my rare event was a snook trailing a hooked jack in.

Fishing Scissors
Pliers work just fine for cutting lines, except braid. I have bought at least 6 different brands of carbide bladed pliers, they work great on braid..........for a while, none of them seem to endure the test of time. I use a lighter to cut my braid. If some one chooses to use scissors as well as pliers, BPS has a sheath that holds 2 tools, I have one.

Sharpening Your Hooks Or Replace Them?
Don't have set procedure, at home I'll replace if necessary but in some cases using a mill file works well. I keep my day to day saltwater lures in my fanny pack in my car, I carry a flat diamond file for a quick touch up if needed.

Fishing Line Thick Braid With Light Mono?
If I were looking for trout I'd get another combo, spinning would be my choice.

Spinng Rod Dilemma
I agree with Marty. The Falcon bucco mentioned, I would see no problem using 15# braid on that rod.

Donald Sterling
Media only voices an opinion it has no control over what people do, one can give them credence or choose not to. Government has placed no restrictions on me or try to sway my moral beliefs. Freedoms I talk should be God Given but they aren't. Go back in time as far as you want and their has always been a ruling class controlling the lower class. Even the Constitution is a work in progress, that's why there have been and will be more amendments to it. I just don't buy into this losing of freedom mentality.

Donald Sterling
Could you list a few please. I may be naive but I feel I have more freedoms that ever. At one time I was not allowed to enter certain facilities open to the public based on who I am. I can't be denied anymore, I have civil rights which I didn't have 50 years ago. As long as racism has been discussed already I hope it's ok for a little bit of detail. When I was young child back in Detroit there was a swimming pool open to the public, there was no membership as in the case of a country club, I was denied entry. There was a sign at the door NO JEWS OR N>>>>>> allowed. This very same sign also appeared on the door of Arthur Godfrey's hotel in Miami Beach, we had to go elsewhere. I doubt too many people here have ever experienced that kind of hatred and discrimination. Sorry to go off topic a bit, in reality racism is really the root of this thread. It is difficult for people to fully understand how bad it hurts people if never experienced it themselves. I just don't understand people thinking they have lost a freedom. I'm stopping it right there as not to be political, stating facts of our laws is not political, being verbally biased is so I won't. If this post is deleted or I'm banned so be it, glad I got it off my chest.

Shore Fishing Using Scents, R U Superstitious?
Of course not.

Wheel Chocks
I think you are fine. I owned med and heavy duty trucks for 30 some odd years. Chocking, leaving in gear and the emergency brake, I don't think you should worry.

Fishing Log
I agree. But if someone feels logging is making a difference for day to day fishing, or knowing what you caught 20 years ago is beneficial, then that's what you should be doing. If I'm on a good bite the last thing I want to do is take the time to make entries into a phone, laptop or a piece of paper. I wouldn't bother to take the time to measure, photo or weigh a fish unless it's significant. Not only is the weather and the conditions different here day to day, certainly not the same as 365 days ago. I do target a number of species, do it every day and manage quite well keeping everything in my own memory.

Senkos
There is only 1 way to know and that's to try it. I doubt there would be any problem.

Donald Sterling
I do see a difference, not condemning or condoning just evaluating what I think is going on. Robertson offended a group of people but not his viewership, many agreed with him. Sterling on the other hand offended, players, attendance, tv viewers and the population as a whole. 2.5 million is a slap on the wrist, being banned is not and most likely will have to sell out. He'll take his millions, move to the South of France and probably forget about it, lol. IMO the penalty levied is to not to show any ethnic favoritism. If Silver had let Sterling off any lighter I think Silver would be under fire, people be calling for his resignation.

You are absolutely correct.

Stiff Spinning Rods
There is a lot of buzz going on about fast taper rods. I bought one recently, it did not perform as I wanted, not a knock on the rod itself, I returned it. F/T rods are designed to cast lighter weights a longer distance, I found even f/t rod with a stiffer tip it did not handle the heavier lures as well. I made a different rod choice and real happy I did. My suggestion, only use a f/t rod if you lip, net or gaff a fish, don't lift one with it. In today's world of rods backbone doesn't seem to be an issue, they are all pretty good in that department. I was using a mh scimitar catching shark 50-80#, until the guides corroded. I had a Penn pursuit spinning 25# rod ($40), caught back to back 2 150# lemons, rod lasted 2 years until those guides corroded, sorry I never put good guides on that rod. I have other examples as well. You spend a little more and that is going to buy you more sophistication, I don't think it buys more backbone. I do use a better quality rod now, most of my rods are med and mh spinning, my average fish I gotta think is about 10# or a little more, backbone is of no issue.

Do Any Of You Put You're Other Hobbies On The Backburner For Fishing ?
I've always fished. When I moved to Florida full time 10 years ago I actually was devoting more time to golf, played everyday. I did do quite a bit of bass fishing in the afternoons. One afternoon on a whim I went out to the inlet, it was love before I even threw a cast. Next day I bought an inexpensive saltwater combo (didn't use it too long), 20 some odd combos later I'm totally addicted to the brine, I haven't picked up a golf club in 9 years.

What's Your Opinion On Copolymer?
For the record I'm a braid man, however there is a need for me to use mono or copoly at times. I really don't favor copoly over mono or vice versa. I'm comfortable with almost any brand, just have not had what I'd call a bad experience.

Leader Problem: Hang-Ups Breaking Off At Leader Knot Instead Of Lure Knot...
Believe me I don't get all mine back either, but it is a good method. I have to thank my old friend Muddy, he has saved me quite a few lures over the years. I don't know exactly what the problem is without actually seeing it, I do know I don't have that problem and a lot of other people don't either. I use the most simplistic knots, I'm anything but anal over line brands, yet I catch my fair of fish without my lines, leaders or knots breaking covering a wide range of environments and sizes of fish. I'd say, get rid of the f/c.

How Many Fish Have You Caught So Far?
